Eurofandom doesn't looks excited but I think this song just grows and grows and devours you. Today I feel it's the winner.

This is a very traditional song, but you could also check out "Andromeda" by Elodie, written by Mahmood, and "Eden" by Rancore which are great bops more representative of young Italian music, which is very powerful too. Personally, even though I'm 51 I preferred the other 2 songs. But this is exceptionally well sung, so much I owe to Diodato: he's got a great voice.

Diodato has a very "pure" voice. United with such a structurally simple, but well crafted song, this is perfect. And his demeanor is sweet and unassuming at first, but he's actually powerful.

I think Italy does well because they don't try to send something for ESC, they send songs for their particular festival. Some countries try too hard and that's where they fail and seem to send the same song year after year.

This song was my winner for Sanremo70 and I am glad it won although it's getting a lot of flak because many think it's not appropriate for ESC. I completely disagree and I will write the same thing I wrote under Diodato's page: this song is perfect for ESC because, even if you don't understand the lyrics, it hits you right in the stomach and your reaction proves it. Rumore is a false friend between Italian and English: it doesn't mean rumor but noise. He begs a past love (many speculate her to be Levante, also a contestant of Sanremo 2020), but the song extends to communication between individuals, to make some noise and break the unnatural silence that has fallen between them.

The reason why they send so good songs is that Sanremo isn't a national Eurovision selection contest but the biggest Music competition in Italy, almost all italian's watch it, it's an very important event, so it's a great ambition to win sanremo, therefore a lot of very good italian singers try to win it, wich raises the quality level, there are usually also some not so much knowen artist, like mahmood last year and Diodato this year, wich them become famous after the victory, but clearly if they want to beat the famous italian artists they have to bring very good and original songs

Hi, so do you love Diodato? He’s fantastic I think. He has magnificent voice and I fell in love with his voice and song in this Sanremo edition. I’m from Italy and I was sure that another competitor would have won (maybe for the name, so someone like Gabbani, Elodie, Pelù...), but after two times that I heard this song I had decided that Diodato would have been my winner. 😊

Actually what you did not noticed is that the format of this song right now is way too long for the Eurovision . 3.47 minutes . So Italy will have to cut the song quite drastically to arrive to the 3 minutes reglementary Eurovision format . So we don't know yet how this song gonna turn. Waiting to decide after the cut of the song .

Of course, maybe it's too much traditional for ESC, and seems to be too "basic" structure (just versus + chorus). Very hard to reduce in 3 minutes (all Sanremo songs reach 4). It should be support with a great staging at ESC in order to blow up juries (something similar to his original Blade-Runner-2049-like video clip).
