Well the controllers I spoke of in this video were sent in from a client for the specific purpose of converting them internally for use with the Sears SVA and model 2 Intellivision consoles. I believe my client stated he has bought them from an online auction site. Years ago it was possible to buy brand new Intellivision flashback controllers when the flashbacks were still being sold. That is when I bought my own that I personally converted in the same way.
I have Intellivision 2 controllers that are not working, mainly in the disc area. How would I go about testing and possible cleaning to bring them back to working condition?
If you are talking about the model 2 controllers, there isn't much you can do for those. There aren't any replacement mylars being made for them that I'm aware of, and they are put together using snap tabs that are getting more and more brittle over the years. This is why when they were more available, I bought an extra set of the flashback controllers that I then internally modified so I could use them with a model 2 Intellivision, or my Sears Video Arcade Intellivision.
Sorry this video was awesome thanks I think you just save me some trouble, and do you have a flash back controller thanks lol 60 year old gamer, or should I do just the same but backwards with Intellivision 2 controler.
Are you wanting to do the opposite where an original controller is setup to be used on the FB? I answered this in the last comment, but you would need to find a wiring harness that changes the needed cabling vs trying to change the wiring inside the Intellivision 2 controller. There used to be a source for them, but I'm not sure where you could get one currently.
In the case of the Intellivision 2 controller a separate cable harness is needed that does the wiring conversion. There used to be a source for those sometime back but I'm not sure where you could get them now.
Is there away to convert these for use on a Mame pc ??? I know there is a few short cables out there but they cost any chance you know how to make it compatable
I'm afraid I don't have an answer for that. I've not looked into it myself but I'm sure some sort of adapter box would be needed as the Intellivision by default doesn't provide +5 to the controllers as most other console did back then. In fact, adapters I've seen to allow other controllers to be used with the Intellivision, actually required external power to the adapter box because of this.
8:30 that gives you a.. warm fuzzy? Wtf are you talking about? You got turned on by that? You like lost your breath for a moment. I gotta say that was very strange. I showed my girlfriend and she said "yeah.. that's super weird".
