Thanks for the vid mate. I have one of these and tested it on my 80 Ltr dual zone car fridge. I run it from hot and it lasted 6 hours. Would have got more out i reckon. Brilliant unit.

Hey mate, just wondering your fridge size and if you have done a test to see how many hours you can run it for. Great review. Cheers

G'day mate! Thanks for the question 👍 Mine is a EvaKool TMDZ50, which is actually a 40L fridge, not a 50 as the name would suggest 🤣 - I havent attempted to run the fridge on just the JS80 till flat... But as you saw in that clip... 2 hours and she was going strong still... I reckon you could get all night and maybe into early morning running on the JS80 👍

200 watt or 400 watt ?? Website claims can run a 400

G'day mate! 400w is the spec... over what time length though... I can't be certain unfortunately mate.

Great review. Can it be charged from a small solar panel?
@TheWandererAUS
@TheWandererAUS Год назад
G'day mate! Thanks for the kind words! Directly from a Solar Panel might be a little tricky, unless is has a USB Type C connection on the end. Or a femaie USB A port that you can then plug a USB A to USB C cable into. I think some of the small panels do have that option. It does come with a 12v cigarette style plug that can be used for charging, which might be an option? No direct Anderson style connector or anything though on the unit for the traditional solar panel. Hope this helps mate, Cheers, Rob 😎

G’day mate! Yeah this little unit packs quite a punch… Just knowing I now have it in the Ranger just gives me so much confidence whenever I go anywhere even slightly remote. Even when driving around town, knowing if the battery in the Ranger goes… I have the power to bring it back to life again. A investment I am glad I have made. Cheers mate, Rob! 👍🏻🚙

Excellent review mate. I've had a smaller unit like this but smaller for about 2 years and used it to power up a mates yatch and regularly charge phones. They are good insurance. The ITech unit is much improved on my unit. Thanks for the review

G'day mate! Cheers for taking the time to say g'day and leave a comment. 👍 Yeah, I was actually very surprised at how their unit performed... Had been umming and ahhhing about getting one since that flat battery at camp ages ago... Am so glad I finally picked one up... As you say... Fantastic insurance to have! Itech seem to have nailed it with this one yeah, but as long as your unit is working still... And sounds like it is 👍... That's all that matters ! 🙂 Cheers mate, Rob 🤠🚙

Good review. I just bought the Kings one which is 1000 amps but haven't used it in anger yet. When you jump started the Commodore, had the unit been charged after all the testing the previous day or was it still at 75%?
@TheWandererAUS
@TheWandererAUS Год назад
G'day Allan, thanks for the kind words mate 👍 I actually can't remember if I charged it up or not overnight now. 🤔 I have used it on my Ranger now twice since that video, and I hadn't charged it the second time after using it the first time (if that makes sense), and it clicked over first go 👍 a beauty of a unit this thing. I haven't heard too much in the way of bad things about the King's one, but I guess the only thing to consider is it is only 1000. That will still start a heck of a lot of vehicles tho 🤘

Shouldn't the negative terminal be clipped to a different place for grounding, instead of the battery's negative terminal (to prevent sparks)?
@TheWandererAUS
@TheWandererAUS Год назад
Hey mate. I did wonder that too when I purchased it, however no, you just connect the negative and positive directly to the battery. I have used it a few times now, with no sparks 👍 When you connect the unit to the battery, the unit is off... then you turn it on once connected, and then start the car. Cheers mate and thanks for the question! Rob
@SupremeSkeptic

@@TheWandererAUS Thank you for answering! I have seen only one video connect the negative cable of a portable jumpstarter to the chassis. All others directly connect the black cable to the negative terminal of the battery. It does seem they are just fine.

Glad I’ve watched this video, my 2014 VF SS was flat as a tack on Wednesday after sitting at the airport for two weeks, and my Projecta jump start pack didn’t cut the mustard. I know what I’m buying today.

@TheWandererAUS Год назад
G’day Clint! Yeah, I have used it several times since I filmed this… usually when leaving the car at the airport when on extended trips away… has worked first go every time! Have also used it as a phone charger when I’ve left my phone charger at home by accident haha - If you want a further 5% off mate, use WANDERER5 at the checkout… that’s another 5% off the discount Black Friday price too! :) Glad it helped mate! Thanks for taking the time to say g’day and leave a comment too! Cheers, Rob 🤠
@airselectricalcontractors842
gday mate - do you keep it plugged into cig socket ?? and guessing it could drain battery if you forget to unplug when parked ??
@TheWandererAUS
@TheWandererAUS Год назад
Hi mate, I personally tend to only plug it in when I am charging it, I don't leave it plugged in once I see it fully charged. I also only charge it when the car is running. In my Ranger, the Cig sockets all turn off after about 15 mins or so after the car is turned off by default. If you run a vehicle that doesn't do that, it could potentially flatten your battery. I find a single charge is lasting me well over 2 months, even with occasional use. Hope this helps mate! Cheers, Rob

Cool looking starter (probably best I've seen yet). I love watching non-biased reviews like this, cheers for the info 👍 You seem quite passionate about this type of product, are you a sparky perhaps? 🤔

G’day Marty! 👋 Thanks for the kind words mate… really appreciate it! Yeah, bought this with my own money and didn’t actually tell them I was going to upload one, so much content is sponsored now on RU-vid, that truly honest ones are hard to find. Don’t get me wrong, I (like a lot of people) - would love a company or organisation jump on board haha… Not a sparky no, I do work in a technical role in the entertainment space, so know a little about electricity/currents/amps etc… but not a sparky or anything like that. Hope you have been well mate! Cheers, Rob 😎

Great review! Thanks 😀. PS - Do you think it would run a Makita 12v battery charger for my Makita 18v batteries??
@TheWandererAUS
@TheWandererAUS Год назад
Love your name! Haha - thanks for the compliment too! It should do... It comes with a female 12v socket to run a fridge as you would have seen in the clip... So yeah, I would imagine it won't have any issues with a battery charger for your Makita batteries. 👍

It will run a 12V Makita cigarette socket battery charger. A regular main powered (230V) charger would obviously need to be connected via an inverter to the jump starter

G'day rav59, Since filming this... the battery in my 3.2 that is in the video here... went flat after I left it parked at the airport for about 10 days... I can confirm, this unit started the car first go. Was a relief I tell ya! So yeah mate, can confirm that it works on the Ranger 👍 If it happens again on my Ranger, I'll film it. Cheers mate, Rob

G'day BIGGSY, Yeah I too will be interested to see the long term performance of this unit as well, like anything. So far I have done about 8 or so jumps... both my car and other mates cars when out camping etc. So far, still going strong! I might do a update video on it once I get a few more jump starts from it. Thanks for taking the time to comment mate! Cheers, Rob 👍

@@TheWandererAUS could you recommend the best powerbank for my needs? - to power a 12volt fridge (yet to work out which one), 12volt fan, use a 12volt Telly (yet to choose one) and charge android phone and watch RU-vid & listen to music on that phone?
@TheWandererAUS
@TheWandererAUS 11 месяцев назад
@@nanniecath528Hiya Catherine 😊 You Kay he better off looking at a dual Battery setup at that point with so many devices. In my setup I have the KickAss Dual Battery kit. It has been brilliant. There are heaps of options on the market these days which is great. A traditional powerbank probably won't give you enough power over a long time frame unfortunately. I do have a video on the kickass battery if you wanted to check that out 😊 hope you are keeping well! Rob 🤠
@nanniecath528
@nanniecath528 11 месяцев назад
@@TheWandererAUS thanks Rob. I'll check that option for sure! - I was possibly planning to use solar blankets to power back up, and when travelling to plug into my cars 12v cigarette lighter along with plugging into a 240v power wall plug when near one (i.e. powerbanks have a kit option purchase). Of course a car battery jump starter on the off chance I accidentally left interior light on.
@TheWandererAUS
@TheWandererAUS 11 месяцев назад
@@nanniecath528yeah that's a good plan actually... Have been thinking about your scenario, and if you travel every day, the car charger would charge back up your powerbank for sure... Or if you manage to get 240v at a camp etc to charge it back up... You could definitely make it work... Not sure how long the battery would last over a period of time if used in that way though... The long trickle use of a fridge power draw etc, over time, may shorten the life of the battery... But I can't be certain either way on that 🤔
