In this talk, Henrik presented a statistical paradigm called Item Response Theory (IRT). IRT is the preferred statistical framework for modelling educational and psychological scales. In education, IRT is the statistical method used in international assessment programs like PISA and national assessments such as the national tests in Norway. The talk will focus on applications of IRT, specifically making results on different tests comparable and the fairness of educational tests.
Henrik Galligani Ræder is a doctoral research fellow at the Centre for Educational Measurement at the University in Oslo (CEMO), Norway. His research focuses on the Norwegian national assessments, vertical scaling of educational tests and the numeracy proficiency of Norwegian students.

Thank you for this insightful exposition to mirt. I am currently on an academic thesis at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka to study the DIF if a state examination, using many methods of which mirt is one. I find this video very instructive and followed through until I couldn't view the script you engaged to perform DIF. Could you share the script with me, or guide me to write my own script uniquely? Here is my unique case: I coded a 41-column dichotomously scored dataset with the name ESUPE _G.csv with the first column named gender as the grouping variable. In my data columns 2 to 40 are the item responses, while column 1 holds the gender grouping. I intend to run a DIF analysis using mirt package in R. How do I write a good R-script for the DIF analysis to flag DIF items? Thanks

Hi, how were you able to get the parameters in different colors and to look so good on the slide at 23:06. Is there a LaTeX package you used?

It's nothing fancy, just putting in lines manually in PowerPoint.

Hi, this channel only post recordings from our UseR events. To solve your issue, we recommend that you go for dedicated forums for the package in question. As suggested by the author of mirt in response to another comment, the mirt-package forum is a good place for it.

Hello, I am getting this problem when trying to use itemfit(): no applicable method for 'itemfit' applied to an object of class "c('SingleGroupClass', 'AllModelClass')". Does somebody know what the issue is? Thank you.

Do you have a reprex that you could post, maybe to the mirt-package forum?

This channel is for recordings from Oslo UseR digital meetups, and there are unfortunately not any such talks planned.
