A great clip, thanks for posting. Chris Robbie once admitted the glasses he wore to present the news were a mere affectation, he didn’t need to wear them, but thought they gave more authority to the broadcast.
My pleasure, I was really pleased when I found this on the end of a betamax tape. That's an interesting story about Chris, it did work him doing that with the glasses.
The departure of Peter to Channel 4 News in 1982 meant the return of Leonard Parkin to the ITV Weekday Lunchtime News. Sad to report that neither Leonard nor Peter are with us now.
@@grahampearson5670 I know. Both were part of my childhood. Anytime I think of News At One reminds me of my now late grandmother as I would watch on Friday afternoon when I'd get in from school
@@peterwilliamskelhorn6675 yes that's right. I remember as a child when it was News At 1 until 1987 then moved 12.30 for 6 months and back to 1. Then after 1991 was 12.30 Lunchtime News
