@@lasersnmonsters2117 the medicine was purposefully causing sedation and memory loss to make the mercs forget about the eternity waiting for a respawn (you have to wait what feels like forever, alone with just your thoughts and hallucinations in an abyss. as an example in a different game, there's a Library of Ruina train that gets to a location in just 10 seconds, but the passengers have to endure ~2,000 years in which they never get any urges to eat, drink, or use the restroom. an eternity is hell.) the machine itself was never built perfect, and it's seen in the contract that 99% of the respawns will go well, and the 1% that malfunction dont leave liability to the creators of the machine even if you forget, having to repeatedly endure thousands of years that never age you is a horrifying thought, and it's why the vengeful sniper's mouth was able to stretch so much (he was likely smiling for the millions of imaginative ways he killed the soldier) this would also explain the mutations of the characters, since they would go insane and likely flail and stretch their arms so much that they have the ability to literally evolve into monsters
@@lasersnmonsters2117 adding on to the real world time vs what it feels like, a claimed 2 miles in 0.000000000067 seconds for the teleportation in stephen king's short story, "The Jaunt", would seemingly force the person in it to live through 29850746266 seconds (945.9131 years) for a matter that would appear instant to others. it's why the rats and Rudy Foggia die; the felt time elapsed is enough to kill somebody mentally, but there is no such thing as an instant death, so the actual time elapsed determines one's passing. it's likely that if one were to survive going through a wormhole, they sure would wish they didn't since they'd be out of it instantly to others, but after who knows how long to them.
Even in the beginning of it. They say it's eternal in there. They say this so many times I love it every time they say it. Or how soldier see himself and was gonna shot him. But spy says. Don't hurt yourself. Or when scout is being seen by doc. And things fall. I love how everything comes together. How it eternal in there.
The fact, soldier become more and more aware of the fact, if you see in the movie. Soldier wearing his helmet but, he goes further to the fact. The fact slowly lift his helmet and eventually left it behind. "The presentation is very low but never touch "zero" "
Poor Demo, man got his arm ripped off, been trapped in a cage by the red mercs, had to go through zombies and learnt how terrifying the respawn process is. At least his death was soft and didn’t see where he was actually in
Something I personally notice is that I believe that engineer in a sense is like grim reaper, as you seen him talking to one of the characters. Then it found out that said character is dead. Just like demo and medic.
@@Arctic_Frostyyea how it could be seen but essentially that's might be were the mercs go cus most people think is heaven since when they die they had gotten place we're there's all the thing they always wanted like demo man
The engineer at the beer station is just so calm. Almost like the grim reaper. He’s informing that he’s met people, seen the other side, and awaits. The demo man came in, talked to dell, and later the demo man dies. No one else talked to dell except for demo. Jules was killed because Spy was catching on he is a private detective after all. Demo froze to death instead of being shot on the spot implying that who speaks to dell will die. It’s like talking with the devil.
It's a nightmare scenario. The idea that death is an eternal darkness. However, Unlike atheism where it's stated you don't feel any of it, you instead feel every second.
Fun fact: There is a Stephen King book were they use teleporters to get to mars but theirs an issue when teleporting organic humans. The mind is active while it's being teleported and hence it takes way longer so before people are teleported people are put to sleep before they can enter. However, in the story a kid doesn't want to be put to sleep so he fakes being asleep and when he gets teleported, he gets teleported but the time he had spent inside between there and mars was so long it basically felt like an eternity with him saying," It's an eternity in there." before doing something bad. Probably not correct with the quote at least, but you get the idea the people who wrote Emesis blue are big horror fans especially of works from Stephen King.
Probably the creepiest quote of that line in the movie. It all but confirms the place they're talking about is heaven and they're in there for a ridiculously long amount of time. Lifetimes at least.
a wee fact about the lore of that phrase, emesis blue is based lightly on a stephen king book where teleportation is viable now, however you need to be unconscious during the teleportation because the time moving between the two spaces is infinitely long to comprehend. that’s why when someone is conscious while being teleported, “it’s eternity in there”
It make sense alot when the Respawn machines isn't working now it is not working anymore when Medic tried to active itself to make people bring back to alive but it isn't. Since it was the Engineer aka Dell or not but who disabled the Respawn machines during in Spy disguised Which Prequel to the Show of Emesis Blue.
(Please dont believe this I’m just as confused as you are) from what I’ve seen the story: Scout sues Jules Archibald for a respawn malfunction then the Butcher and possibly a corrupted medic kidnap Scout and send him to the Conagher slaughterhouse where he is killed, Soldier and spy go to the Conagher slaughterhouse to save Jules Archibald. The reason it’s so confusing because the medication that the characters take cause hallucinations and it’s probably the reason they mutate/turn into zombies when respawning. If you have more questions just ask
alr so my idea is that the trials happened 30 years ago being his grandpa, OR that the trials were going on for a while he never came out, project ended 30 years ago and he still never came out he comes out and that could be what posses medic, his body being so bad it couldnt exisit in the physical form
