It's more than a tabletop game for me. It is a narrative that brings the idea of humanity in such times of dark and despair, and yet STILL standing, ten thousand years, twenty thousand years, it matters not. We are still standing. Still fighting. Still living in spite of a galaxy that seeks our demise simply for having the gall to exist. While it is true that to be a man in such times is to be a man amongst untold billions, each life somehow becomes more worth protecting, each death inspiring more anger, for why we are slaughtered matters not, what matters is that we still stand. Against a tide of death and fury, I will hold my ground.

Seriously, the battles at 30k aee very impressive because the legions had sheer size of space marines unlike what happened after Guiliman's codex Astarte, small battle groups of few. Hundreds of thousands...ten of thousands landing pods carrying space marines coming down to the surface.. very majestic.
i mean it was also the only real time the Imperium was threaten that much, in that single moment Half of the Imperium had turn side Horus almost won, so this was the Imperium at his Peak of power where they where almost able to conquering the whole galaxy. In the 40K a lot of the fire power used during the Heresy is now gone after millennium of stagnation
It's not even that, they used to have 200000 astarties per legion easy, now even the black Templar who ignore the codex and have as many as they equip struggle for more than 5k. They don't have the industry or gene seed to have their old numbers

It's not just a game to me. I spent my childhood unable to afford this hobby, or most anything else, we were too poor. As an adult I spent several years in Iraq and when I came back I was desperate for a mental escape, Warhammer provided that. What's more it provided characters that I found myself connecting with on a deeply personal level. I found solace in Warhammer, and after battling combat stress and PTSD, burying my fellow soldiers, and fighting with my own demons. And when I was finally able to afford a few figures and paints, after years of dealing with way more than I should have had to, I was able, even if just for a short time, to find a little peace. Warhammer did that. It's most definitely not "just a game."
Have faith in The Emperor, we are not lost yet. Even as the galaxy is consumed in darkness, devoured by the swarm and beset on all sides, humanity stands united against eternal night.
Man I forgot how crazy that death of hope animation was. It’s a crime that GW shuts down their talented fans and does so little with the IP when it has so much potential

When I first listened to the audio books and in flight of the Eisenstein Garro rises from the slayn lord of flies killed by his bare fists on the surface of luna, when he first repeated Keela‘s words and decided to believe, when he spoke „The Emperor protects“ into his helmet not over vox just to himself looking up at the throne world questioning of the Emperor was looking at him from the Palace… those goosebump moments are aoo great
It is the fact that despite all the evil and death in the Warhammer universe, there are still factions willing to stand and fight for humanity that makes it meaningful.
And they wish to take it all away.. fellow lore readers, table top players, game enjoyers, track listeners, hobbyists, content creators, fan artists, fan movie makers, do not let them.
The clips with the woman talking about God hating them - where did that come from? The CGI is great. Same with the chaos marines being surrounded by loyalists and "kinsman, what have you done?". That stuff looks amazing and I don't recognize it. I must know!

It was from a unfinished animation project named "Death of Hope", the creator back then was doing very good with the trailer and the first espisode but then due some critinism about his designs that he could not handle so he stopped.

This is real 40K. Pure, horrific, beautiful grimdark, millions dying, blind faith, thousands of years of slaughter. indoctrination, heresy and war. Oh, and Orks killing Death Korps. Shit never gets old.
Ever since I got into Warhammer, I have been fascinated by the vastness of the lore. No matter how dark the setting, the fact that we are still fighting gives me hope for the future.

It's not just a game for me. It's one of the few things i can have passion for. The lore keeps me wake at night listening to majorkill and more. The game gives my fucked up head something to do. The community is one of my few real friends i found along my way. Warhammer is the most amazing and interesting franchise that ever existed and i won't believe there will ever be something better. Ghank you to all the people that keep it alive and present. Thank you GW that you gave us that amazing thing. And never forget: The emperor protects!
I've yet to find another franchise that can span as far as this one has. Star Wars has the space battles and insane powers, but lacks the troop count. Star Trek has the politics and the multiple factions, yet has none of the darkness. Halo has the genetically altered super soldiers and planet killers, but rarely do you get to experience the universe from the eyes of a regular soldier. MCU has the insane aliens, yet has become too popular, so film makers have to try and appease everyone, and in doing so alters the core of what the original concept was. Warhammer 40K has so much depth to it. Do you want to stay at the surface level? Ok, here is the most basic overview for every major faction. You want to know a bit more about certain factions? Sure, here's a few books that go on a bit more of a deep dive. Do you want to know how this one aspect of this one sub-faction works? Alright then, now your talking! You want big robots? We got big robots, *AND* big monsters to fight said big robots! You want wacky over the top silly stories about a character from a faction you like? *BOY DO WE GOT YOU COVERED!!* You want a horror story that will keep you up at night? We've got an entire collection of those. You like romance? We've got some! (Somewhere in here.)
The Emperor guides, too. Keep ever vigilant for the heretic and the alien but also the possible. "If they stand behind you, protect them. If they stand beside you, respect them. If they stand before you, destroy them." For those we cherish we die in glory!

I'm new in the 40k fandom, and Ho boy! Discovering the lore of this masterpiece is like entering in the city of Atlantide and discovering all of it's history ! Glory to the God Emperor , for the Imperium of Man !

I don't play the tabletop or collect minis. I only played a single 40K strategy game in my live called Gladius, nothing more. Yet I am about 23 books deep into the lore and find myself drawn to this... scaleless tragedy of immense sadness.
People who say, "Its just a game," never tried it themselves or even tried to put much thought into it, so yea, If they don´t care why should you care about them? I really hope Space Marines 2 is the game thatll take 40k to greater heights, a strategy game that is able to truly show the scale of a 40k battle both in space and planetary battles if made with real passion and time put into it, it would be the greatest game ever made
For me warhammer was never about the fucked up nature of the universe and how every faction is “a bad guy”. For me the darkness just makes the good shine that much brighter. The stories of brotherhood, friendship, love, and the strength it takes to stand tall and unflinching in the face of pure evil and overwhelming odds. Humanity has always been messed up, IRL, fictionally or whatever. But those who defy that shine bright and warhammer just shows that on a more extreme scale. The emperor is but a symbol of humanities unwavering strength and will to rage against the dying of the light

Such potential to create epic shows with pure awesomeness, yet the producers don't use it. All the more reason why Marvel What If...? is perfection, because that show uses it's full potential to the max.
The fight won't end. The tyrant will die. The galaxy will be free or be burnt by our fury, our gall, to demand our destinies be in our hands. Let the galaxy burn.
The galaxy hated us purely for existing. Untold billions upon billions dead. Untold billions upon billions martyred. Still, here we remain. For ten thousand years we have remained. And for another ten thousand we will remain. They may hate us, but we will fight them with every breath. In the fields, and on the beaches. In the skies, and in the oceans. In the void, and on the soil of a hundred worlds, we will fight them. We will not go quietly into the night. We will rage against the dying of the light. Every sacrifice made is another reason to remain, another reason to refuse to bend or break. We are humanity. And we will not give in.
Dying for the Emperor may be all well and good if you are lnclined to do so, but tis far better to live to fight another day so the Emperors enemies can die for whatever cause they support.
