I love how Marshall even shared a similar line in an early season when he said, "If dating is the game, then marriage is winning!" It all comes full circle.
It's fantastic how the woman who Ted was destined to marry, was also the one who convinced Barney to marry Robin. The thing that Ted though was the worst tragedy of his life, was actually the best thing that could happened to him, and caused by the real love of his life. What a script work!
Oh if you rewatch the show you are able to see how both of Ted and Tracy’s choices ultimately lead to their meeting. Just look at Ted’s journey 1. Ted meets Robin and then dates her 2. Ted eventually breaks up with Robin and while trying to get over it, he gets a tramp stamp 3. Ted falls in love with the woman who removed his tramp stamp but she left him at the altar 3. Randomly runs into that woman and her husband who feels guilty and offers him an architectural professor job 4. On his first day he accidentally teaches the wrong class that happened to have Tracy and her roommate 5. Ted begins dating Tracy’s roommate but quickly break up mainly due to her beginning to come out 6. Years later while trying to help plan Robins wedding, he runs into that room mate and her wife who recommends a wedding band. A wedding band that Tracy plays bass in If you take out a single one of those steps, they could never have met.
The heartbreaking naive optimism "what's the rush, right?" ... Lines up perfectly with an earlier quote by Robin: " timing is a b!tch".......... Life is hard, guys
In my opinion, it is the most significantly important episode in the whole show throughout 9 seasons and ive been looking for an hour to find one person who praises it at least for a second. Zero. Its very unjustifiablely underrated. Wow. I mean fate of the whole group was decided in this episode!
with a person take great pride in playbook like Barney everything less than perfect with playbook simply can't be expected ... We talk about this guy who spent 3 months practing a random skill for an off-change of seeing friends' boobs
He could tried every way she would have said no, she loves him more than barney and she already know that ted is the number one for her but she couldn't do that to him because she can't give him the family life he always dreamed for, everybody say robin and ted are bitches but they never noticed that she was never selfish with him and neither was he with her
I’ve come to the theory that Tracey was a guardian angel for the whole group. She even opened barneys eyes and heart if that’s not an act of gods power what is.
Jaris Dominguez The look that lasted for 9 years as waiting for the Mother ( Every Ted Mosby look at the end in every episode is what kept me going through the series )
They just didn't like the ending. But unlike most shows, this one is well though out. I mean, you look back at each episode and everything connects. They also missed the fact that the kids pre-recorded their scenes because they would age. The ending was basically already made around the same time the first episode was.
We're not platonic. Platon-ish, maybe. If that's even a word. But not platonic. I mean, there's something between us. And there always will be. If this was eight years ago, I'd be jumping into a cab right now to go steal that blue French horn. Well, why don't you? I don't know. Just doesn't seem to work that way anymore. I used to be in such a hurry all the time, you know? Everything was so urgent. Now, I just, I don't know, I figure it's gonna happen, it'll happen when it happens. I'm not going anywhere, she's not going anywhere. What's the rush, right?
Yeah but that right there is also why it’s not big romantic love for me between them. If you love someone you don’t take them for granted. You wanna be with them RIGHT NOW
So barney thinks that marrying Robin means he wins the game. So wheb they were discussing which of Barney ,Ted and Marshal had more game Marshal was right. He was married to a quality girl long befire those two.
Not really. Marshall met Lilly at college. Barney met Robin several years later. And Ted met Tracy a lot more years later. For it to be a fair competition. Barney, Marshall and Ted would need to meet their "Soul mate" at the exact same moment.
ONE of the reasons Barney and Robin were divorced ! Love is not a challenge, not an obsession, not even a will. .. love is an involuntary reflex that comes back like a boomerang despite all our efforts to surpass it. .. love is to be able to meet 20 years later as on the first day. Barney almost ruined everything, almost. ..
Says who? Love is more complicated than that, Love means something different to everybody. The reason I believe barney was better because he didn't wait for the universe to let things happen, he went out and made things happen on his own. And that's how real life works, it's not waiting around believing that something is going to go your way eventually, if you want something to happen you need the courage to make it happen. Not just with love, but with everything. If you think Ted was better than that's your opinion, but don't go saying that Barney ruined things, because he was the one actually willing to take action.
Slospop112 If it can please you! Your alternative end "does not hide anything of what we already know .. I believe that the events of the original still happens after the show ends. It meant to be. And then I do not like the parallel worlds lol at least I prefer to think that I will be a dolphin or a daisy ... not a fake version of ... me ;-) NB: they are still divorced in your fan service AE.
you don't take a whole season to make an awesome pair only to break them apart after three years just because ted had crush ... GOD still so mad they split barney and robin , i can agree with Tracy falling sick , that's life , but this ......
Luca Bertolotto Yeah it’s like people forget all that. Even before the rushed finale they always had angry long winded fights...and don’t forget that when they broke up the first time they both realized that they cancel each other out, that was always going to happen if they got back together because not every relationship that has two alpha personalities can be sustained for a lifetime. Don’t get me wrong if people want to hate them breaking up fine but people need to stop acting like the final outcome of Barney/Robin/Ted was out of the blue because the writers spelled it out way before the last season ever started and subliminally reinforced it over the last season before the finale ever even aired. It really bugs me when people think writers don’t know their own show. The truth is that more often than not the viewers don’t realize how the show is being written, they see it through the lens of their own perspective and not the ones who are writing it. Luckily I have always watched TV with the goal of understanding the writing rather than judging it based on what I want
@@joshz2491 but how come tracy and Ted work? Arent they similar? Like very similar. She is the female version of ted. If that can work...why not barney and robin
jan vms I think it is different with Barney and Robin because they are both extreme alpha personalities and from my perspective it seemed like that no matter how much they tried to make it work one of them would always feel to paraphrase Barney from back in season 4, “canceled out” by the other wether it took months like when they broke up the first time, or years like the second time when they get divorced. If you really think about it from the moment Barney and Robin first enter a serious relationship their are a lot of hints that they are unable or unwilling to commit to being together forever. Wether a couple is similar or different both parties have to be willing to share or step back from the spotlight, and as we see throughout their time together on the series Barney and Robin could not do that so I’m not surprised that they don’t end up staying with each other and don’t think it was as out of the blue as a lot of people do. There’s signs all over the series and I think the lesson for the viewer with Barney and Robin is that falling in love is easy but a lifetime commitment requires more than they were willing to give each other. That’s the fundamental difference between Ted and Barney, and their relationship with Robin. Ted was willing to sacrifice having kids to be with Robin and she returned his love by refusing to let him sacrifice what he wanted most (a family) just to be with her. They each got what they wanted most and got back together once they were fulfilled individually by what they wanted most. Even Tracy gets a happy ending by falling in love a second time before fate reunited her with her first love Max. Barney also gets a happy ending by finally committing to a girl for the rest of his life, his daughter It’s all beautiful if you really stop and look at the whole picture.
@@joshz2491 but if you see throughout barney and Robin are not the same as how they were at the start. Their character developed over the years. A lot of difference. They are alpha I agree but slowly they started to make sacrifices for one another. They change. They were ready for what's coming ahead. As for Ted and Robin, only Ted was willing to make the sacrifice not Robin. Which is why they dont go together
Ted was afraid to try one more time while Barney just dived into it. Don't be with a guy who second guesses whether he should make a move, three years from now Robin
Usually the love interest meets Ted and then the rest of the group which leads to some misunderstanding and some needless friction. But the mom met everyone else first so that later when Ted reveals that he's seeing her, the rest of the gang are like "yo, she's amazing, love her, she's a keeper".
Now that explains where Barney got the idea of proposing to Robin. I always wondered where that came from. When I watched the first episode of season 9, it appeared that Lily was the first of the gang to meet The Mother, but this flashback reveals that Barney is actually the first. Barney and Lily are both lucky. If only that Ted had gone to the drugstore to get the diapers and samosas for Robin and Lily instead of Barney then he would have finally met his wife. So the Mother played an important role in causing Barney and Robin's wedding because she's the one who encouraged Barney to propose. The wedding never would have happened if it wasn't for her and Barney had been grateful to the Mother ever since. And when Barney said "I wonder if I know someone to set you up with" he was unknowingly referring to Ted. Ironically, Barney himself tried to pick up Ted's own future wife which would have ruined everything had he succeeded
Coolest part about this is that these interactions legitimately happen. I visited New York for a week trip and had a conversation with a stranger and it was one of the best I've ever had
What bugged me about this moment is that Barney didn't even think about Ted when he considered setting her up with someone as if he had so many single friends that he could introduce to her. He literally had only TWO male friends and one of them was already married.
After seen this episode we can say that universe have its own way to giving us what we truly deserve. Destiny will arrive. To all the bois reading hold on ur Tracy will arrive sooner or later 🙃
Ted waited for the time while barney work hard to get his right time. Made me think, robin was the "time"? Anyway, Robin and Barney are the endgame to me 💓
Anyone else wonder why Barney didn’t tell her about Ted or try to set him up with her it probably would’ve failed due to Ted being in love with robin still and not letting go but if it didn’t fail ted would’ve met his soulmate
I don’t get the people who say “Tracy was in the show for a short while so there’s nothing interesting about her” while she literally helped all Ted’s friends before even meeting him
my position right now is kinda worst combination between ted and barney in this clip.. i just want to keep playing around, thinking there's no need to rush without knowing there is someone who prepare to win.. now i just wondering how youtube algorithm can predict what i feel now and recommend the most relatable scene to me.. its kinda scary tbh
Is it bad when you dislike the main character the show is supposed to revolve around and instead like his womanizing friend better than everyone else? Cause I could just not bring myself to like Ted at all in this series. In Friends, Ross at least has some redeemable qualities.
Max Collins The reason why people don’t like Ted is because he is the most relatable character on the show every time he makes a mistake or strikes out with a girl that could’ve been the one we see ourselves doing the exact same thing and that’s OK that’s good. And besides Ross and Rachel are real toxic couple.
What redeeming qualities does Ross have that Ted doesn't? Both are hopeless romantics, get out shined by the rest of the male cast, but at the end of the day, the story still revolves around them. Ted is actually the more tame, realistic, & better written character of the two. Ted's never had issues letting his feelings be known, while Ross struggled with that during the entirety of Friends. Ross can never seem to find the moment, while Ted makes the moment happen. The Friends supporting cast is stronger, but between Ross & Ted, I'd rather go with Ted.
@@Howyaduing exactly. I think Ross and Rachel could relate to Barney and Robin more, because they have toxic relationship. Jealousy, always trying to surprise each other and of course her job getting in the way. Ted and Robin are more like Monica and Chandler (minus her career part) because they were both new at relationships and accepted compromises
@@meetroushan2727 Even though the episode they got married aired in 2014 they got married in 2013 and Lily was pregnant with her third kid in 2016 when they said they were divorcing
So i was team ted and this episode was really good cause it made sense how marshall said if u dont act on it someone else gonna get her and he did so even though i am team ted he shouldnt have been all she isnt gonna go anywhere why rush
Ted: “I’m not going anywhere, she is not going anywhere, so what’s the rush?” The rush is that she may not be single for so long…that someone else is going to take her…
When you think the song is about Barney and Robin but it’s really about how Ted’s feelings wouldn’t change for Robin even in a 100 years... ughhh I hated that finale and I hate this foreshadowing even more. The song is awesome though
I can't believe people are still surprised that Ted ended up with Robin. They crafted season 9 not to say how Barney and Robin were a perfect couple or just to build up for a wedding. There are clues and moments all over season 8 and 9 that suggest that everybody knew and expected them to end up together. I mean, look at Ted's face at the end of this episode. But if he hadn't been forced to let go of Robin he would never have met Tracy.
Most people are fighting whether Barney should get Robin or Ted should get her...but personally I couldn't come to terms with someone seeking a character like her so intensely.... She's always an inconsistent, immature and a kind of shallow person who need to be constantly manipulated emotionally... I simply don't get it.
You really don't. She was a bitch to both Ted and Barney. Ruined their friendships and lives. Find a Lily. Someone who is committed kind, but tough when she needs to be
