Theory: Ned tried to help Willie with his drinking and couldn't find a way to get close to him. Until he realized Willie loves the gym. Now Ned and Willie workout all the time. Willie still drinks but Ned knows it's not a real problem so he's not constantly nagging his gym bro about it.

I love how good of a person Willie is, always willing to help people even at deadly situations, defends other inmigrants, fucking fights a wolf disarmed to save a kid, defends his mother's honor, welcomes other Scottish as friends even though they are natural enemies (and also saved the wee turtles and is the school janitor which is possibly the worst job a human can have.)

So I'm confused, they get rid of Apu because he's represents a stereotypical Indian, yet they still have characters like Willie,who's a stereotypical Scottsman and Cletus, who's a stereotypical Hillbilly. I guess what I'm saying is, I miss Apu.

Favourite Simpsons character and I love how Willie wasn't angry with the kid who vomited and tried to make him happy by telling him that he did the same thing. Also him standing up for the German kid was awesome

My favorite Willie moment ever was when he yells at Bart "Hey! Wee bairn! Hie ye hence from me heath!" It was in season 9 episode Lisa's Sax, he was basically telling Bart to get off the grass but Bart didn't understand, then Willie got annoyed.

It makes me sad to think characters like this wont be around anymore. I never associated any character with their origin i just thought they were a funny character. Until i found out as an older kid that a single man voiced many characters and a woman was a child's voice i had no idea. it was more inspiring than anything.

Comedy just isn't the same today, with everyone hyper sensitive and virtue signalling -- being offended for others who actually aren't offended at all. The R.R. Peeper was so good. It was footage of Willie turning in the tape to the same producers that were going to use the video for another episode. For good measure they made an episode out of him. So clever.
So Apu is a racist and offensive stereotype but not Willie? I love Willie and all the characters, I am just pointing out the stupidity of the cancel culture even in cartoons.
He ought to be considered one, really, because this is how lots of Americans think British people act! And we don’t. I’ve met some Scottish people and they’re actually lovely. 🏴🏴🇬🇧
I have a theory that unlike the race offended by Apu, the Scots are either completely fine and/or proud of Willy... Or they don't care whatsoever and have more important things to be mad at... Like other Scotsman.
