Huge tip on this if you’re set on an oval! Check out your proportions LxW ratio is key. When we got my ring we tried some on to see if we wanted the oval longer or slightly rounder. If you want it to be a longer oval then get a higher LxW ratio. This can also help you save some cash money.. because maybe you want a 2 carat but that’s pricey... by playing with the LxW ratio you can make sure you have more surface area on the top. So even though I only have a 1.29 oval my diamond surface area is slightly larger then a 1.5 round ideal.

When my grandmother passed I was given her wedding ring which I redid into my engagement/wedding set. My husband and I also went together and picked out a setting. I was like you...if I am going to be wearing this for the rest of my life I want to love it! We had a blast that day! Plus you’re right what you think you’ll like isn’t always what you end up loving when it’s on your finger. My ring is completely the opposite of what I thought I wanted. But I absolutely love it! We didn't have bridesmaids or grooms man and everyone thought it was weird at first but afterwards everyone realized they were able to watch and enjoy the wedding more and we weren't stressed about offending people and people not being able to afford stuff or paying for everyone and we still got to have bachelor/bachelorette parties and stuff etc etc it just made it all more simple and enjoyable in my opinion ...
