Although that case isn't my cup of tea I do think Coolermaster have missed a trick with not putting a 1000w PSU in there, I don't think the 850w is enough despite their claims, and if I were looking for something like this I'd pass on it for that reason.
@@obliviondust2719 Only problem with that is though you've already paid for a PSU then you're paying for another one, by which stage you might as well just buy a different case to put the PSU in that you want. It's a major oversight by CM.
Oh no chance would I try to wedge the 4090 Strix in there like that. I would've Dremelled (whether cutting or grinding) that curved in metal fold out to get the extra room I needed without having to scratch up an over 2000 pound GPU and possibly voiding your warranty as a result. Based on what can be seen in the footage, you should be able to get way more than the .6mm you need out of that excess metal to fit the GPU without needing to intentionally damage the card. I'd bet there's at least 2mm of excess metal that doesn't "need" to be there. Quite frankly, as it stands now, I'd much rather void the warranty of the case than void the warranty of the GPU. So it's time to put that Dremel to good use. Or better yet, report it to cooler master and get them to adjust the case design for a future revision.
Hey! Thanks for this review! Looks solid! I am curious though - does it fit mini-DTX motherboards like the ROG Crosshair Impact VIII? Also, can you actually put on the panels with the ROG Strix in it and in the non-expanded configuration?
A SKU with panels in Coolermaster 30th colours like the ltd ed Cosmos? Not sure this case appeals to me. The Cherry Red Qube 500 jobby is to die for and the SL600M Bengal rig of a few years ago was another standout. Just watched those again; it is always impressive what you cook up with paint and coating aesthetics. Content like that whenever the opportunity (and worthwhile kit!) arises, please. 👌👍
It's fun to have different designs coming to market. If it wasn't so expensive, this would have been great for the build I'm making for my friend right now. Also, I keep hearing you mention "undervolting"... you wouldn't have a *guide* on this now, would you? ;) For powder coating, a nice deep violet (like BMW Techno Violet) would look amazing on this I think. Cheers Tom, have a good weekend!
If you mean the undervolting guide. Vendors have been the delay sadly. I've got it all ready but waiting for something to arrive that 'has' to be featured. I'm more annoyed than you :(
