Taehyung got praised alot for his acting skills from media , locals even directors themselves, us army wouldn't be satisfied until he gets his own main role in a kdrama and i bet he would be getting offers from directors once he gets released from military and yll can tell how a brilliant actor he is since most of ppl who watched the mv cried including me

"For those who confused in storyline" IU’s character is deaf and taehyung’s one eye is blind. That’s why she uses sign language when they’re eating and she covered taehyung’s left eye at the end to protect it. One theory I read, the couple represents aging people who are close to death and the cube represents the inevitable death. They were reminiscing their youth through the cam recorder which is all cheerful, bright and colorful. However, the reality is not as beautiful, when it’s time for you to go, you have to go. They spent their time together loving each other until their last breath.

here is another theory: the cube represents society, it is chasing every individual who doesn't fit the standards in society. here, v is blind in one eye and iu is deaf/mute. so they are running from oppression of society. the world is controlled by these standards of perfection to the point that people in south korea wear masks on when they don't have makeup or when they feel insecure or their hair is messy. the mv is a dystopian view of our society. while they are trying to hide in this abandoned place filled with the clothes of people who died because of this oppression, they find a camera that allows them to have the illusion of what their lives would be if they were "normal" by society's standards, it starts with their looks, they could see what they could've looked like, then what they eat, then they start to feel the illusion a bit too much to the point they beautifully imagine that iu could sing and v could sing as well, she could listen to his voice and they could marry each other and just have fun and eat whatever they want because they wouldn't have to care about society or any other kind of oppression. however, as soon as they feel a bit of comfort and try to live their life, the cube (society) finds them again and push them to retreat and flee, but the cube managed to find them again, they try to survive against it and try hard to fight as hard as they can, but they can't beat a stronger system, they give up but at least they stayed together in the end. even if they died at the end, they loved each other deeply, it shows that even if society is oppressive, people can love each other and they can find their soulmate even if they are not "normal" or "perfect" in the eyes of others. the pile of clothes is like from spring day mv, these people died because of injustice, but they deserved love, this can look sad and gloomy, but as in the spring day mv, if you don't forget them you can see them free and happy where they are now.

The MV is basically about two marginalized people (IU is deaf and Tae is blind in one eye) who are persecuted for loving each other. It's basically a metaphor that "different" people can't love each other. At the end, when IU realizes it's the end (because the cube was going to disintegrate them), she covers Tae's one eye so that this won't be the last glimpse of their life together. If you watch, IU squeezes Taehyung's shoulder 3 times while he desperately holds her hand (6:16). 3 squeezes is a common non-verbal sign to convey love to your loved ones. "Three squeezes means 'I love you'"

V AMAZING acting out all these emotions of fear happiness sorrow furious, in a 5 minute music video is crazy because we see actors failing to act out a single emotion in an 1 hour long episode but here he is, the versatility is showing 😭They they forgot what they were running from because through the lens of the camera, they were able to just love and enjoy life until the reality caught up to them and they were taken away ICRY 😭😭😭😭❤❤❤❤

The mv is like a freaking movie, the visuals and vocals are so stunning, If I am correct I think V is blind in the mv and IU is deaf so it makes the story all the more special, I have been listening to the song on repeat from the day it was released, the ending left me in tears, the song is so haunting and beautiful and IU and V's acting skills are just mesmerising, hope Tae again resumes his career in acting he got the talent for it, just all in all a masterpiece💜💜

A few things you may have missed. This is one of the theory. There are many others too :- 1) IU is deaf/mute and V is blind in one eye as you already guessed. 2) The cube represents the society which discriminates against people having disabilities thus eliminating them. 3) However Love truly wins all. IU and V stayed together because of their true love. 4) The camrecorder shows how the world would have been if the society didn't discriminate against them. 5) They would have get married happily. If you see the scene where IU was singing in the mic and Tae puts a flower on her ear, the people in the back were pointing fingers at them. 6) The whole mv was mainly shown from the pov of IU. You can see how she always put herself in the danger first and tries to protect Tae, how tenderly she loved him, her touches were so gentle as she saw his normal eye through the cam. But Tae loved her too. At the end of their life, he puts himself in front and tried to break the box. Tae was not your alpha male. They both are equally scared but when time comes, they can sacrifice themselves for the other. This is true love. 7) The three taps on Tae's chest at the end of the mv where Jieun was hugging him from behind indicates i love you in sign language. ANOTHER THEORY - The cube represents inevitable death. IU and V remember their memories when they were younger through the cam recorder. How happy they were. They run away from death, wanting to spend more time with each other but at the end, they can't run away from death. It's bound to happen.

Its been 2 days and i still cannot get over this mv. The best mv ive seen after years, a movie put together in less than 5 mins with very very well executed acting by the actors, chemistry that felt so natural, the emotion of love by bothe of them that felt so real 💜 plus the beautiful voice of IU. IU can't hear and V’s one eye can't see ,in the end IU covered the good eyes of Taehyung so he won't see the horrible ending in front of them ,im Stuck at how a single tear from Taehyung’s good eye traced its path down his face and IU’s hand gently covered his eyes, It's as if he found a momentary refuge in her touch, offering a subtle relief from the overwhelming sensation ... Such a beautiful and emotional video featuring amazing acting and vocals. I really do hope that Tae & IU do other projects together both film and music as they have great chemistry and when he was on her show their voices also blended so well. Also at the end it was pointed out by someone that he can hear what is coming but she can't while she can see what is coming but she covers his good eye so he can't. Both cry at the same moment though and from the same left eye. I also noticed the cube waits for them to stop fighting and accept their fate. If you notice there are no other people so obviously no person is able to meet the criteria this cube holds that would allow someone to survive. I can't get enough of this MV, the acting is Oscar level and combined with the award worthy vocals and lyrics it's both heartbreaking but also heartwarming that at least they went together.

I saw an article on Twitter saying that IU is deaf and tae is blind in one eye, both have been that way from birth. The cube is getting rid of people with " defects" and the camera is then imagine a world where they can be happy because they're "normal". 🥺🥺🥺 THIS GOTT ME CRYING

As a fan of IU for a long time, my thoughts do not seem to be a sad ending. IU usually expresses a lot of love in red. Movie Animation (ghost bride) As if to awaken true love and float into the sky and become a butterfly. In addition, the rectangle floating in the sky means prejudice and hatred of the world.
