Yeah eight is the saddest song I've ever heard. It's about her kpop friends who committed suicide. She sees them perfectly in her dream/nightmare but she's aware they're gone. Seeing them brings her a bittersweet joy, so tho it's a nightmare she doesn't want it to end. This hit me hard. I think thats why I stayed away from her music tho I've heard lilac, coin and your reaction to her killing voice. I'm glad you had the other songs, it was the first time I really heard them...BOPS! Can you react IU “ special clip" sleepless rainy night

Eight is about IU's struggle in dealing with the suicide deaths of 3 of her friends (Jonghyun 2017, Sulli fall of 2019 and Goo Hara less than a month later in 2019). IU has said that this song is part of her Age Series, representing both her and Suga's ages of 28. Adding their ages together you get 56 or May 6th the release date of the album. But in true IU fashion the title Eight has more than one meaning. Sulli was one of her very best friends. They meet on a TV show where they co-hosted, in 2011, 8 years before Sulli's death. All three friends are represented in the video. Jonghyun and Goo Hara through their alter egos has Lizards. The opening scene we see the first lizard on the ceiling keeping watch over IU has she gets ready to enter the memory recording machine. IU is wanting to record her memories before they all wear out, were her friends while remain forever young. The lyrics start off with IU asking if her friends are happy now, finally happy now. The she makes a complaint that drives the rest of the video. She says she is doing the same, but she feels like she has lost everything. She then says she doesn't want to love anyone again, because they just come and go has they please without saying goodbye. In the memories we see we are introduced to the 2nd Lizard that is in an aquarium. Then the 1st animation scene, which is in 3d which is very important because it distinguishes this scene from the 2nd animated scene which is in 2d and represents a difference in time and space. In the 1st animated scene we see a lizard on the outside of the plane window. This is the same lizard that was in the aquarium and represents Goo. It disappears and IU wakes up (in her dream or nightmare) runs to see if the lizard is still safe in the Aquarium. It is not. IU looks for, and she goes out on the patio. The next thing we see is the 2nd animated scene which is in 2d of a girl in White running while looking back in IU's direction. This 2d animated scene represents the afterlife and the girl is Sulli. Some have said that the girl is running carefree, but on this point I take exception. It clearly appears that the girl is running with a determined purpose. But what is the purpose. 2d Sulli has heard IU's complaint and the pain it is causing her. Sulli is running to intercept the plane and say goodbye to IU. Sulli slides down a hill in the 2d world and comes to a black barrier. This seem strange and out of place to me orginally. But knowing that nothing happens in an IU video that doesn't have a meaning on some level. It then finally hit that this black barrier was barrier between the 2d and 3d worlds or between the afterlife and the world ofvthe living. Sulli parts the barrier climbs through and the jumps off a cliff and onto a Dragon who is taking her to see IU. IU is crying both in the memory machine and in the 3d animated world, morning the list of her friends. But when she sees Sulli and the Dragon she smiles, Sulli looks back at her their expressions tell the tale. IU has a sad love smile, while Sulli has a look of concern has she Hope's he friend will be able to love and trust again. IU wakes up and we see 3 different facial expressions. First she appears a little confused having just woke up, then a smile crosses her face with the realization that her good friend(s) are finally happy now and have said goodbye, the she expression turns stern even angry. This look is directed at all those haters out their that had taunted particularly Sulli and Goo. It seems like you might have missed a MV or 2. I may be wrong but I dont remember seeing you guys react to the following MV's- Peach, Epilogue, Jam Jam or Sogyeokdong. I am not sure what you consider MV to be, since you reacted to her Dingo Music performance, which is similar to her Special Live Clip and Sketchbook performances. Songs done by her in those formats include, Love Poem, ZeZe, The Meaning of You, Dear Name.
