This song is incredibly sad, it's heavily implied to be related to the deaths/suicides of her friends, such as the "are you happy now" in direction to the haters who caused the horrible events. While there is no confirmation on this, it's the most popular opinion.
@jinniebabyillwaitforyou9490 Em Yoongi doesn't make the work for himself, he didn't give the song to IU, both worked on this song because IU needed to give away this heavy emotion she was feeling, she talked about this moment of her life like something really dark and she needed a friend. Yoongi help her, but he expressed exactly what IU wanted to express.
13:08 the lizard is said to represent a male kpop idol who exited and the other girl is her best friend who also self exited a few years back. The song both implies to haters and her friends "are you happy now?" such kind souls were forced to self exit because of netizens that nitpicked their way of living
Despite its upbeat beats this song is incredibly sad, there is this one possible theory out there that this song is about IU's three best friends Jonghyun, Sulli and Goo Hara (all of them were kpop idols) who unfortunately passed away, I really admire IU she is so brave and strong after everything she's gone through, this is one of my fav songs ever, Suga really created art❤
6:09 It's theorized this girl and dragon are representations of her friends. (Jonghyun, Sulli and Hara) who passed away sometime before she released this song, that's why she cried!! This song is about being 28 but there's a lot more meaning into it as well, wish you knew about it before listening to the song!!
@@carols.0504 Ikr. The song didn't get the reaction it deserved cause they had no idea how deep it was. Their moderators/Admins should at least give them some insights about it or read some summary/ideas in Discord like what they always do. Laughing while listening to it? Nah! They're missing out the whole feeling and meaning of this song.
@@user-jl9wr5bh3pExactly!! And even if it was never explicitly confirmed it's more of a if you know, you know situation and they obviously don't know, so I think it doesn't cost much to at least mention it to them but anyways, their summary writer is not doing a good job for a while now
@@carols.0504 It can also be an eye-opener song for them to know how the whole K-pop industry works. So sad they didn't get the depths of this song. I hope they try to at least watch the explanation video even if it's kind of late. Besides they are good at giving their insights into the things that are new to them. I really want to know their reaction when they realize how deep this song is.
In this chapter 2 they gave us a lot of content with IU X BTS, for example she is a great MC has it's own talk show similar to Suchwita "IU's Palette" where she invites different celebrities including J Hope, Suga and Taehyung when they were promoting their solo albums, they were very entertaining and interesting talks even with sections of live performances exchanging songs and doing duets there you will find the live performance of Eight in the chapter they invited Suga if you want content similar to Suchwita I recommend it, also IU was invited to a chapter of Suchwita it is one of my favorite chapters to get to know her better as South Korea's most successful soloist
3:29 Summer said that IU really loved acting. IU is actually an actress. She's phenomenal for real! The kdrama "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" in which she acted in was A HUGE HIT (i cant even move on from it until now)
Why did I suddenly choked and tear up when Yoongi started his verse 😭 I’ve listened to this song many times but right now it hits different. I miss Yoongi so much. I hope he’s doing okay.
I really really hope you watch her IU's pallette episodes with the members (Hobi, Yoongi and Tae), especially Yoongi you'll LOVE the live version of Eight there and them singing together!!
IU is considered as Korea Diva. She is amazing and everyone there is a fan of hers. From what I understand once she finished her word tour she will be going on break to start a family. Wishing her all the best
No😂 Just to be clear, once she finishes her tour, she will be on break to spend time with her family (Mom, Dad, Younger Brother, and other relatives) ✌️
IU had some tough years where ahe lost 3 of her friends in kpop industry who self exited themselves.. there is a high speculation that this song was her going back to memory lanes, remembering them.. 🥺🥺 love this collaboration always 💜💜💜
When you said she really loves acting.... YES IT'S BECAUSE SHE'S AN ACTRESS, ONE OF THE HIGHEST PAID IN ACTRESS IN KOREA, aside from being one of the bests soloist she really is a great actress 💜💛 You should watch the live version of this at IU's concert and also with SUGA at her show "IU's Pallete" on her channels "이지금 [IU Official]"
I love IU, she is the princess of Korea and always will be. She is a great actress, with movies and shows that you guys should watch. This song means many things. One thing is she was 28 when she dropped this album, and she and Suga are the same age. It is also about friends who were like family to her. The sadness in their souls took them away from us too early and it was due to internet cruelty and bullies. We tragically lost SHINee’s Kim Jong-hyun, Sulli, and Goo Hara. They made these 3 people so sad...mental abuse and things not many could get over. "So are you happy now?" to the haters that caused these 3 to lose hope. It's horribly sad, this song, I've watched it a million times and still cry when the lizard gets lost and she finds him in the sky with her other best friend. At least they are together being happy. This is the reason at the end of the song when she sits up and looks at the camera...she smiles but the depth of sadness in her eyes touches you.
this song is implied to be about her friends who committed suicide in 2018/19, one of which was jonghyun, one of the first idol composers, also one of the first to speak openly about mental health. i was a big fan of jjong and he truly was such a bright light, he wrote beautiful, comforting songs, he was also very charismatic. i miss him a lot.
She is such a great actress... I have recently watched her dramaHOTEL DEL LUNA and her perfomance in that is incredible ..... I loved her character so much
also please please watch the iu palette episode with yoongi and also her suchwita episode, to really grasp her importance in the korean music scene and her friendship with some of the guys
This song is so special, i went to IU's concert last week. She sang Eight, so much emotion when she played Yoongi's part lol. Too Much tears, love her so much.
This song is beautifully heartbreaking and it is widely believed that IU is singing about the three friends she lost, both of whom self-expired: KIM JONG-HYUN (1990-2017) Was a member of the group Shinee. This young man was battling depression when he passed. The dragon in the video was always associated with him. SULLI -(1994- 2019) This talent artist was bullied so much that just couldn’t take it anymore. IU was very close to her as well… GOO HARA (1991-2019) This artist was also bullied relentlessly. A close friend of IU she was 28 when she passed. The bullying culture in SK is notorious for being the fuel behind so many Kpop stars leaving the industry or life itself. This was such a beautiful tribute by IU and for their fans
Since you guys loved" love wins all' you should check out behind the scenes of mv both on iu tv and bangtan tv ......tae's interaction with iu was so wholesome
If IU’s Palette isn’t already on your playlist I think you should add it. It’s about 45 mins to an hour long. I’ve only seen the episodes with the 3 BTS members; Suga, j-hope and Tae. I’d describe it as a talk show with 3 live performances. The Suga episode they did Eight plus the two People versions. For j-hope episode, IU duetted Equal Sign with him, they then duetted one of IU’s songs before Hobi sung Safety Zone. For the Tae episode it was 2 Layover songs plus a duet of one of IU’s tracks. It was interesting to see IU’s chemistry with the 3 of them. Hobi was first to appear on her show, then Suga and lastly V. Because she’s a musician herself the talk parts of the show are better than a lot of interviews the BTS members do.
Actually this is a sad song about the feelings of IU when she was 28😢 This song about her three idol friends who lost their lives sadly😢..RIP Sulli, Goo Hara, Jongyan (idk the spelling of his name.sorry) those symbols represents her lost friends. P.S. they all took their own life sadly.. the girl in the plane is IU. The dragon is shinee member jongyan, the girl on the dragon is sulli. JG was died first. Then when sulli died the dragon catch her like before falling. It's like JG got sulli's back. Then IU trying to protect small lizzard atleast (hara). But unfortunately she was also died. Read the lyrics..Are you happy now?? have two meaning.. first is asking her friends that were you finally found the peace? And for haters who led them to su*ide like.sarcasm. Every lyric has a hidden meaning. I was a IU fan before BTS. She lead me to BTS. So glad you reacted. Pls react to her show palate with BTS also.❤
In fact, IU is the girl inside the plane, outside the lizard/dragon is a representation of her friend, Jonghyun, a former member of the Shinee group, and the girl on top of the dragon is her friend Sulli, a former member of the f(x) group. Unfortunately, both committed su1c1d3 due to the pressure, attacks and hatred they suffered. The MV is her revisiting memories with her loved ones. As for her love of acting, like Tae, she's also an actress and has done a few dramas.
The Queen of K-pop can act her pants off. She’s a critically acclaimed actor who won too many awards to name. Her first movie “Broker” competed & won at the Cannes Film Festival. Check out her dramas “My Mister” and “Hotel del Luna.”
i really wouldn't mind you guys watching more suchwita episodes, especially with iu, taemin (feat. jimin) and el capitxn, yoongi's work husband, but I know there is more important stuff to watch, so take your time 😊
This song's such a HUGE hit in Korea when it was released. IU is the pop queen and the collaboration came as a big surprise with huge anticipation. The song instantly topped all the local charts and gained so much popularity. It was really an exciting moment to experienced.
This song is really sad🥺 IU's voice is so beautiful and she really knows how to carry emotions when she's singing. Yoongi is obviously a super producer☺️ I love his verse too 💜
This theme of this song is nostalgic/sadness as the people she is referencing in this song are forever young and IU herself is getting older. Really surprised the mods didn’t suggest an explanation video for this one. “We dance under the orange sun Together with no shadow below us No separation was meant to be Let’s meet at the memory that was once beautiful”
This song is so sad. This is also very much related to the unfortunate death of her friend/friends. But one of them was sulli who unfortunately passed away in 2019(suicide)she was/is also a very beautiful singer and actress the two are best friends. (we miss you sulli💕)
I hope you'll react to Palette where Suga is a guest to IU's show or Suchwita where IU is the guest. IU is such a good actress and a singer. BUT if you want to see them singing live, then Palette would be good to react.
This song is so emotional. I've never been in her position to lose someone so close in her life like the way she did. But I can't even imagine how hard and heartbreaking that would be. Hope you see the live version of this song.
The story behind this song is so sad tho, its about IU's 3 best friends who ended their lives bcz of extreme hate from fans they were also famous idols , this shows the dark side of kpop , idols usually if not daily end their lives bcz of fans and their Hate this is one of the reasons why the rate of suicide in korean is high
Even before I knew what the song is about , it made me cry and still does. Reading the lyrics about getting lost in memories and feelings if loss and longing. The lines about being together again at the end of eternity (aka life) made if clear to me that it was about missing someone who had passed away. Especially when she says people leaving without even waying goodbye which makes her not want to love any more. So much heart break in the lyrics
iu and yoongi talked about the making of this song at suchwita. This song is about IU's feelings at the age of 28. and IU chose Yoongi because of their similar age.
@@JackInTheBox0294stop with the lies please. Let me ask you this.. Do you believe spring day being related to ferry tragedy? Even though it’s never been confirmed? Same with this song. Not confirmed but it’s pretty easy to connect the dots.
IU's initially wanted to be an actress when she was still schooling & even went to acting classes but her family's financial problem put an end to the classes. Then she discovered her passion to be a singer when she was punished to sing at a school function. She said that she didn't feel nervous but enjoyed the feeling of performing in front of an audience. If you ever see her performing at her concerts then you'll understand why & why she said that she will never stop holding concerts. Her current H.E.R.E.H world tour is estimated a total of more than 400k audience.
I love this song so much. I hope you guys can check out the Suchwita episode with IU and the Pallette episodes where SUGA, j-hope, and V were on. I love how cinematic SUGA produced tracks feel.
you reacted to people pt.2 right? IU was the one singing the chorus :D also iu & yoongi sang eight live in palette, hope you'll react to that episode, also the ones with hobi & taehyung. excited for suchwita with iu reaction too :D
This song makes me smile through tears. It’s a memory of her friends and all those who suffered, as well as a reminder of life itself and how actions affect others.
She's an actress actually and a good one. Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo is a topnotch drama she's in. Also she's considered the top singer in Korea that is loved by everyone along with BTS.
There are so many layers to this song, there are so many meanings. It would be important for you to see the explanation on the DKTV channel, and of course, the live version with Suga on the IU channel.
Hobi, Tae and Yoongi were all on IU's show. It's so interesting to see how different each member was on their episode with her. And yes a lot of ARMY are pretty endeared with IU and like her music/kdramas. I mostly stick to BTS but I have taken the time to check her out and did enjoy her stuff. She seems really lovely in all of the interactions I've seen of her and the guys. I've been meaning to check out her kdramas but haven't gotten around to them yet. Her vocals are beautiful though. Eight is one of my faves
Guys there's an explanation video for this MV and let me just tell you, it's not a "fun" song at all. It's so incredibly sad. The lyrics are going to make so much more sense after💔
@@dheejahsiddheeq Right? Seeing them laughing while listening to it it's just a NO-No. Their moderators on Discord should at least give some insights about this song. 😫
