Goo Hara, Jonghyun, and Sulli didnt commit suicide. They were murdered by haters.

If you look for IU speech in GDA 2018 she was saying she is sad that she sent someone she care as a friend, colleague to a far away place(heaven) and she is asking all th idol to take care of themselves too as they are also human and they should cry when they are hurt, eat when their hungry, laugh and love themselves as well.

IU lost 3 close friends. Jonghyun in 2017, who she has a song with ( gloomy clock ft jonghyun). Sulli in 2019. She has a song dedicated to her - Peach. And it re-entered the charts following her death. IU postponed the release of her album because of Sulli's death. A month later, another close friend of IU, Goo-Hara passed away while IU was having her own concert. IU found out during the encore stage and the fans all sang to her to give her comfort. Also IU is known for being harsh on haters. Which is admirable. Understandably since her friends deaths are closely linked to the effects of cyber bullying.

The last sound that sounded so softly... Haters, are you feeling better now? You've done what you wanted. Are you happy now? I felt that.

I'm Korean. And IU was also attacted by haters at her early 20's. If you listen her entire music, you can find what she has gone through and how she dealt with her sadness and mad on the lyrics. Her music is a warning to the haters, but expressed really cute melody in the music. She is way creative and a strong girl. That's why I love IU.

Honestly I’m not a huge fan of Sulli, jonghyun, and Hara. But every time I hear this song, my tears fall like waterfall. Just imagine how much pain they were all in when they don’t deserve all those terrible said to them. The industry that brought her up but pushed her friends down. Just how torn she must have been. I’m very worried for her since she’s a soloist but I’m sure she has great people around her to make sure she’s okay since she’s an amazing person.

Yes, mental health. It’s called cyber bullying, hate comments, rumors....

Their deaths is even sadder when you look back on past videos with them. One of them said that they would like to be a mom in the future, jonghyun spoke openly about his depression but still got hate, there was also one quote.... i don't know if i am wording it correctly but one of them said "why do you hate me? I'm a good person. i don't get it?". There's were many audios released after this music video and their deaths where her friends talk about what they wanted to do in the future but there were also so many videos of them talking about how they weren't happy and were getting so much hate. I was never personally a fan of them but they are human too and didn't deserve to get hated on so much and get death threats. It only made sense for IU to feel helpless in this kind of situation. IU has been so strong throughout her whole life, dealing with hardships even before she became an idol and i admire her so much for that.

They mentioned it all but they forgot this detail. When iu was riding the plane, the message that appears is "all electronic devices off". All, of iu's friends fell victim to cyber bullying. This can mean two things: 1) electronic devices should be off if she wants to visit her friends in her memories as clearly they're in heaven and are in peace and would not like to be disturbed by the haters again. 2) it could symbolize how they fell victim to cyber bullying In the start of the video, iu asks "so are you happy now? Finally happy now are you? This could also mean two things: 1) in the video 2) she's asking the haters if they're happy now that they've taken everything from her. She's asking them if they're finally happy coz they got what they wanted. You see, unlike other artists who struggle to debut, iu struggled to even find an agency. She was conned, physically and mentally abused by family(her uncle), was dragged into fake scandals, rumors etc. So her friends mean a lot to her. They were her support , strength, happiness and comfort. Losing 2 best friends within a span of 3 months? And one 2 years before that? Now you have no one left besides you. Imagine how painful it was for her. I hope you react 3 iu's struggles too. She's been through so much and I hope you share her story more

I cried as soon as I heard the Love Poem because I knew this was written for Sulli but it was little too late by the time it was released and I am sure IU was so devastated.

So glad you got to see the theory behind this song. One reason to enjoy IU's artistic talent is her ability to translate personal feeling into poetic and purposeful lyrics in her songs. Many of her songs are deeply personal representing her feelings and thoughts expressed through intelligent and meaningful words or metaphors. Every time you listen to IU, you do it with the idea her words says something genuine about her. Eight, although sounds like an up-tempo, poppy song, carries such an emotional punch. BTW, all three of her friends mentioned in this Explained MV committed suicide. They are widely believed to be the result of serious depression from mental pressure or unrelenting cyberbullying.

(2)FYI, her three friends are idol too : Jonghyun (SHINee member, a boysgroup), Go hara (former KARA member, girlgroup), and Sulli (former f(x) member, girlgroup). And each of them was TOP... TOP kpop stars in their heydays. So basically their suicide are big news in S.Korea, (3)this is related to IU too, as she is quite a delicate person and has some mild case of depression too. Actually she was very affected with Sulli and Hara's case and her Love Poem concert (Dec 2019 - Jan 2020) nearly cancelled. (4)next time, if you see IU's video, pls see the lyrics too, maybe on cc, or search the lyric video, because IU's lyric is so integral to her as a singer. She said in interviews that when making a song, she prioritized lyrics than melody. For IU, music is a device to convey emotions and message.

I suggest you listen to IU's "LOVE POEM", even though it's only the lyric version of the video, you can pick up on her love for the people around her in the lyrics she wrote, especially those in desperate situations, unfortunately her best friend Sulli didn't get to hear the song before it was too late.
