My heart shares your utopia as I have worked with doers, producers, visionaries and lastly a very successful inventor. Visionaries and inventors are focused on what their product can bring to the marketplace and not always with safety and efficacy in mind which is why there are lawyers and politicians. You’ll need the bureaucrats to help support and build the factory that makes those gadgets. Their place gets lost in the muck of the politics/process but they do serve an important purpose. I think big bridges are, functionally, and to the eye…beautiful. A massive piece of design art I wouldn’t want to drive across unless a Civil Engineer was fully certified and credentialed. I would also want that bridge built to code and maintained to code for many, many years. Fortunately, Civil Engineers are very safety focused but many innovators are not and people have been hurt or killed.

I'd rather live in Pandora. But we live in the real world and in that world, not every single lawyer and politician is a terrible person. The good ones are heroes because they do hard work to help people. Whining about lawyers and politicians doesn't help anybody.
