As a Malaysian, I can see why Chinese netizens are angry. If people look back at traditional movies filmed before 2000, they can see super obvious differences between Korea, Japan, and China in terms of their traditional techniques, knots, styles and accessories. Japanese is influenced by China but they made themselves unique in a way that Japanese and Chinese cultures are obviously different. I saw many Chinese traditional culture is portrayed in anime and they are confident to say that it’s based on ancient China (like colour cloud palace). And the Chinese do not mind at all.

Korea is a very east Asian country with very east Asian culture and everything that is shown on this video is very common desgn that Koreans are used to seeing while we have lived for thousands of years. You cant get anymore east Asian than Koreans. Knots, fans, tiger design which is based on a famous old Korean painting, these are all familiar Korean theme. Chinese culture is similar because we are both east Asian countries. China does favor red color which this video is not. You cant say the design of cloud and mountain is Chinese culture only because Korea's old paintings also have similar designs. China can't claim the universe and galaxy is their culture only and deny other country's culture. Every country has culture.

@@etvow and have you thought of why your “Korean” elements are so similar with Chinese elements? BECAUSE THEY ORIGINATE FROM THE CHINESE ELEMENTS!!! We are angry not because you used the elements, but because you don’t even recognize and acknowledge their origin. Chinese culture and Japanese culture also have a lot in common, but you can rarely see Chinese people getting angry with the Japanese when it comes to culture because the Japanese acknowledge where the elements come from and have developed their own style of aesthetics. But the Koreans have not. And they are taking the traditional Chinese elements as their own.

Except it's more complicated than that. England had many colonies and client states. They influenced those cultures heavily. Should nearly every country have to say "but England taught us this" when talking about their own past? That would be ridiculous. Let's talk about Rap, a genre begun in the US by the African American population. Do you see Kpop(or any other country's rappers including Chinese for thar matter) announcing where rap came from on every MV? Does every Chinese artist using blue jeans give homage to the Americans and Levi Strauss in particular? Of course not. And nobody expects them to. A lot of country's music industries use American products and American intentions to even exist and yet there is no outrage over that. Let's look at oil paintings. That is not Chinese in origin. It is imported and yet it is popular in China today. Does every art gallery and artist announce their thanks to the west for the oil? No. They don't. They call it theirs and nobody cares. But yet, China goes apeshit over a style that heavily influenced Korea due to its satellite status ages ago. It's exactly like Americans 200 years from now going apeshit because blue jeans or western fashion became normal and a part of Chinese culture now.

And Chinese artists use oil now. Do they tag the west when they display an oil painting? Oil is not Chinese in origin. It is imported, just like glass work, computers, gold, guitars, Buddhism, and many more things. How many cpop groups credit Spain when they use a guitar in their song? Korean and Chinese history overlaps heavily. Spanish and Chinese do not. Yet they still use those things without credit. Auto tune is an American invention. Do cpop groups give credit when they use it? How about the computers to mix and edit those songs? Also American in origin. Rap is American. Where are the tags on Chinese rappers songs? Just saw a WayV MV. In it, they rap(American), wears black studded leather jackets and pants(Punk movement in America and Britian), wear jerseys(American style), use 808s(American), use florescent lighting(European and American), use electricity(American), dance in a hip-hop style(American), and so on. Zero credit given. None.

Because most of the elements in the MV, the Korean don’t have it . For example, the Karst Mountain Landform . It’s only Chinese culture! Secondary, Korean don’t admit that some of their culture were learned from China. After they learned, they blamed Chinese is the one who stole their culture. For example, a famous Chinese RU-vidr Liziqi, made a video of making salty spicy vegetables. Then Korean blamed her and said she stole Korean Kimchi. But the truth is Chinese made spicy and salty vegetables since Qin Dynasty, it was from thousands years ago. At that time, ancient Korean dynasty wasn’t even exist. If you don’t believe this K-pop group stole Chinese culture, go to search their new interview video. When the host asked about the group members some cultural questions. They don’t even know the names of the art patterns that were used in the video! If it was Korean culture, how come this K-pop group members have no idea about the names of the patterns??? It’s their song rights???

Korean in the old times have always just used Chinese culture due to the great influence of ancient China. However they are so used to changing the name of Chinese culture that they took from China to Korean names. Like Chinese calendar, they directly took the calendar and used it with only changing the year name. The dates and maths are the same as Chinese calendar, now they call this Korean calendar and claim Korean invented it. Same as this MV, Koreans were like "Oh this fan shape of Chinese fan looks so cool, it is different from Korean fan but let's use the Chinese shape instead." The mountains, cloud shapes are all what they learned from ancient Chinese culture. Now they call this Korean beauty. What a shame for Korean.

Also, why do you guys keep saying that all of the Korean culture is yours? There were a lot of tigers in Korea too. Also, when we talk about ink painting, Korea did it for thousands of years. The famous drawings and traits differ from Korea and China, but how can you say it is a Chinese thing? It is true that China was a huge country and influenced lots of Asian countries, all Asian countries modified and added a lot of things that we can see clear difference. Also, you know we don’t say that America and other countries are stealing the culture of Rome and Greece. @@foreverblink8331 I don’t know if there is any myth related to tigers in China, but there are a lot of myths related to tigers in Korea. There is a famous story that ‘brother and sister who became sun and moon’. In this story, the tiger tries to eat up the brother and sister while their mom is out for work. Brother and sister realized that the tiger dressed up to look like their mom and tried to escape, but they were on the edge, so they climbed the tree. However, the tiger followed them and also tried to climb the tree. Then, brother and sister prayed to save them and the rope came down from the sky and they went up and brother became the sun and sister became the moon. This one is one of the famous stories (this one is a very old myth. This story was passed from generation to generation by mouth. In the past, people thought this was how the sun and moon were made.) In ancient Korea, China was a subsidiary country. At that time, the dependent country was only called to China to attend the funeral when there was a national-level funeral. Chinese funeral was marked by white and wreath. The ancestors of Koreans used white when they thought it was a major festival, so they now hold activities to send wreaths and white decorations representing funerals in China. Even the national flag of South Korea is also a gossip map of China. It was originally a good omen. They did not understand feng shui to remove the four hexagrams and turned the national flag into fierce gossip. This has always been very funny for Chinese people. Recently, many ancient costume dramas in South Korea will plagiarise Chinese costumes. Even the poems of Mao Zedong, the founding president of China, have appeared on the screen of their plays, subtly turning Chinese culture into Korean cultural propaganda.

So who will demand that Chinese painters be cancelled until they give credit to the original oil painting artists? Oil painting is an imported genre, not a Chinese one. Yet modern paintings use oil often. Where is the outrage? Who will demand all of the cdramas to pay homage to the French and Americans? Without them, there are no movies. It is not a Chinese invention or medium. And yet, I see the term "classic Chinese movie" used. How can it be classic Chinese if it is an imported medium? Computers heavily influence everything today, even down to cpop. Where is the homage and credit to the Americans for that? Ive seen computers used often in music videos and movies but those aren't originally Chinese. Did the Chinese steal it? Every time an artist uses or wears blue jeans, do they praise Levi Strauss and American miners? No? Why not? It is American in origin. Are the Chinese culturally appropriating India for their statues and depictions of Buddah? It isnt originally Chinese and yet it is a major religion there, influencing the culture as a whole. So shouldnt they credit the Indians every time they do something with Buddhism? Lets talk about gold and gold coins. During the early years of the Silk road, the Chinese looked at gold coins as jewelry rather than coinage. They only began using gold coins after the influence of Rome came. Gold began to become more of a symbol of wealth. Should every Chinese celebrity who wears gold jewelry credit the Romans for the influence in theie choice of jewelry? Eye beads and glassware arent natively Chinese. They were imported at first until China figured out how to make those items. Glass from Rome is found in archeology sites. They wete behind other major powers such as Egypt, Mesopotamia, and India in figuring out how to create it. So is credit given to those people when a historical cdrama uses glassware in old times?Or is it considered part of Chinese culture since Chinese began to use this borrowed(stolen?) technique? China wasnt even a satillite state of any of those places.

Chinese admit that there was an influence of Chinese culture, but you don’t see them getting mad at Japan even with their bad history. Why? Because they were inspired and made innovations, created a new culture (they also admit that it is inspired and you can tell there are differences). While Koreans did get influenced, they make little to no differences and claim it as theirs denying it was ever inspired. They have the nerve to claim that china stole from them! And a funny one was that they said that Jesus was Korean lmao Oh, and some of the elements don’t exist in Korean culture. Koreans say that it’s theirs but don’t provide any evidence but Chinese have provided evidence. everything in that video is Korean traditional symbols and originated from Korean artifacts. Go to korean national museum Since ancient times, Koreans have used Norigae and Seonchu using knot decoration. The Chinese are lying that knot decoration is their culture. However, the Chinese began to study traditional knots led by the Chinese government after the 1980s. Don't lie that cultures that are not inherited until the 20th century are native to China In Korea, queens and princesses wore knots accessories.on traditional clothing until the early 20th century, and relics remain. The Korean you met must have been a very humble person. Because there is no need to argue with the Chinese, most Koreans tend to accept Chinese opinions when Chinese claim to be the founder of Asian culture without protesting. However, this has become a cultural imperialism issue since the Chinese increasingly refused to recognize the traditional Korean culture and insisted that everything is Chinese. There is no evidence that someone invented a knot like that 5,000 years ago, but there is no evidence that it was Chinese. It is possible that the culture that spread from China in ancient times remained in Korea and became traditional culture. then, can't Koreans have the right to use Korean traditional culture? do not make Chinese's sophistry. Why is the mountain, cloud, tiger belong to the Chinese? If you look at silk made during the Joseon Dynasty, such a cloud pattern was a very common pattern. Look at the portraits during the Joseon Dynasty. All the silk that makes the clothes of Joseon officials is engraved with such clouds. According to your logic, did the Confucian culture of Korea come from China, so that the Korean aristocrats stttttttt0le Chinese culture? The Chinese's logical leap proves that China's education level is $1. Believe what you want to believe. But the Korean nobles have been on the genealogy far better than the Chinese and inherited traditional culture well. Have you ever seen relics of traditional knot accessories from the Joseon Dynasty? Elaborate relics made by ancient Koreans reflect Korean culture that is different from that of China. Until the Joseon Dynasty, Korean noble women used small daggers 은장도 which tied to knot accessories. Also, at the wedding, Korean people sent knot accessories in gift box "ham" to their brides, and the knot ornaments used by the Joseon empress and princesses remain. There is no evidence that the Chinese invented such knot patterns. And since ancient times, the Chinese have recorded that Koreans worship tigers, and tigers appear in the Dangun myth of Korea. Until the Joseon Dynasty, there were so many tigers on the Korean Peninsula that the Joseon royal family even created a special forces unit called Chakho-gapsa 착호갑사, which hunts tigers. The Chinese don't know much because they believe that China is everything in the world. Don't pretend to know about Korean history.

Hello. This clearly symbolizes 🇰🇷Korea's unique traditional culture. The clouds and mountains in the MV represent Korean culture and landscape painting, which can be seen in “조선” (Joseon, Korean dynasty) landscapes. Although traditional Korean landscape painting is similar to Chinese styles, it is distinctly different. Additionally, “곰방대” (gombangdae, Korean smoking pipe), “부채” (buchae, Korean traditional fan), “호랑이” (horangi, tiger, One of the animals that symbolize Korea), and “노리개” (norigae, Korean traditional ornaments), and “꽃신” (kkotshin, traditional Korean shoes) (are all representative of Korea's unique traditional culture. Everyone, If y’all have received basic education, please ignore all false and rude fake information! Also Thank you everyone for loving Korean culture!! 🇰🇷🥰Korea's unique traditional culture is a Korean culture that was originally started and continued by Koreans. Korea's unique traditional culture is not Chinese. It has nothing to do with China. Please educate yourself again before spreading incorrect or false information to others. Since 10 years ago, China has been asserting that Korea's traditional clothing, food, kimchi, and culture are China's unique culture. The Chinese even once asserted that Japanese traditional clothing, kimono, and Japanese food were China's unique culture. However, even if the Chinese make false claims, people around the world already know the facts. Also, historically in China, the “Cultural revolution (无产阶级文化大革命) ” that occurred between 1966 and 1976 caused the Chinese people to eliminate their own culture. They destroyed cultural assets, including the tomb of Confucius, one of the four great saints, and the tomb of Guan Yu, who is revered as a god in East Asia, by the Chinese themselves. The Chinese have already destroyed and eliminated most of their own culture in the past. This is why Chinese people suddenly started insisting that Korean and Japanese culture are Chinese 10 years ago. The main reason Chinese people are attempting to appropriate Korea's unique culture is due to China’s “Northeast Project.” The Northeast Project (东北工程, Northeast Project) was a research project conducted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences from 2002 to 2007. The project's goal was to study the history and ethnic issues of China's northeastern regions, particularly Manchuria, to assert that these areas have always been an integral part of Chinese history. The Northeast Project includes claims that ancient Korean states such as “고조선” (Gojoseon, ancient Korean state), “고구려” (Goguryeo, ancient Korean kingdom), and “발해” (Balhae, ancient Korean kingdom) were local Chinese regimes, which has sparked historical recognition conflicts between Korea and China. As a result, many Korean government officials and citizens strongly oppose the Northeast Project, viewing it as an attempt by China to distort history. The international community's response to the Northeast Project has been largely critical, casting doubt on the credibility of China's historical claims. Many countries, including Korea, regard this as an effort to distort historical facts. (If you search about this on Google, it clearly shows that 고조선: Gojoseon, 발해: Balhae, and 고구려: Goguryeo were ancient Korean states. The project ended in 2007 because China failed in its attempt to distort history. However, the influence of the project still lingers.) **I hope that true peace will come to the world where people do not encroach on or covet what belongs to each other. **🙏 China often makes wrongful claims about the origins of various cultural elements from other countries. Here's a list of instances where China has been accused of appropriating and misrepresenting the cultural heritage of its neighbors, often overshadowing and undermining their unique cultural identities: 1. **Korean Hanbok**: China has wrongfully claimed this traditional Korean clothing as its own, attempting to erase its true origins. 2. **Japanese Kimono**: Often depicted as part of Chinese culture, undermining Japan's rich heritage. 3. **Vietnamese Áo Dài**: Presented as a Chinese fashion element, despite its Vietnamese roots, showing a disregard for Vietnam's cultural identity. 4. **Mongolian Deel**: TraditionalMongolian attire marketed as Chinese, erasing Mongolia's distinct cultural contributions. 5. **Tibetan Thangka**: Sacred Tibetan Buddhist paintings wrongly claimed as Chinese art, an act of cultural erasure. 6. **Uyghur Dastan**: Epic poetry from the Uyghur community misrepresented as Chinese literature, diminishing Uyghur cultural heritage. 7. **Kazakh Yurts**: Nomadic tents falsely attributed to Chinese heritage, overshadowing Kazakh traditions. 8. **Thai Khon Masks**: Used in traditional Thai dance but sometimes claimed by Chinese performers, erasing Thai cultural expressions. 9. **Filipino Tinikling**: A traditional dance misrepresented as Chinese, undermining the Philippines' cultural identity. 10. **Hawaiian Hula**: Traditional Hawaiian dance occasionally claimed to have Chinese origins, overshadowing Hawaii's unique traditions. 11. **Indonesian Gamelan**: Music wrongly presented as part of Chinese tradition, erasing Indonesia's musical heritage. 12. **Tibetan Butter Sculptures**: Unique Tibetan art claimed as Chinese, diminishing Tibet's cultural identity. 13. **Nepalese Thangka**: Religious paintings sometimes marketed as Chinese, overshadowing Nepal's rich artistic traditions. 14. **Korean Kimchi**: Frequently claimed as originating from China, erasing Korea's culinary heritage. 15. **Japanese Sushi**: Sometimes promoted as Chinese cuisine, overshadowing Japan's culinary contributions. 16. **Vietnamese Pho**: Misrepresented as part of Chinese culinary heritage, erasing Vietnam's culinary identity. 17. **Korean Taekwondo**: Occasionally claimed to have Chinese origins, overshadowing Korea's martial arts heritage. 18. **Kazakh Eagle Hunting**: Showcased as part of Chinese cultural heritage, erasing Kazakh traditions. 19. **Uyghur Meshrep (Traditional Gatherings) **: Represented as Chinese, diminishing Uyghur cultural practices. 20. **Himalayan Singing Bowls**: Marketed as Chinese despite Tibetan and Nepalese origins, erasing their cultural significance. 21. **Hmong Embroidery**: Attributed to Chinese minority culture, overshadowing the Hmong's unique artistry. 22. **Khmer Classical Dance**: Unique to Cambodia but co-opted as Chinese, erasing Cambodian cultural expressions. 23. **Indonesian Batik**: Marketed as Chinese textile art, erasing Indonesia's rich textile traditions. 24. **Laotian Sticky Rice**: Featured as part of Chinese culinary heritage, diminishing Laos' culinary identity. 25. **Filipino Nipa Huts**: Presented as Chinese rural architecture, overshadowing the Philippines' traditional structures 26. **Tibetan Yak Butter Sculpture**:Showcased as Chinese, erasing Tibet's unique artistic traditions. 27. **Taiwanese Aboriginal Culture**: Presented as Han Chinese culture, diminishing Taiwan's indigenous heritage. 28. **Korean Jangseung (Village Guardians**: Claimed as Chinese creations, erasing Korea's cultural identity. 29. **Mongolian Long Song**: Presented as part of Chinese folk music, overshadowing Mongolia's musical traditions. 30. **Thai Loy Krathong Festival**: Misrepresented as influenced by Chinese lantern festivals, erasing Thailand's cultural identity. 31. **Balinese Gamelan Music**: Claimed to be part of Chinese musical traditions, erasing Ball's unique musical heritage. 32. **Himalayan Thangka Art**: Labeled as Chinese art, erasing the Himalayas' rich artistic traditions. 33. **Bhutanese Dzong Architecture**: Misattributed as Chinese structures, overshadowing Bhutan's architectural heritage. 34. **Vietnamese Water Puppetry**: Claimed as influenced by Chinese puppetry, erasing Vietnam's cultural identity. 35. **Sri Lankan Kandyan Dance**: Presented as part of Chinese dance traditions, erasing Sri Lanka's unique cultural expressions. 36. **Nepalese Pashmina Shawls**: Marketed as Chinese products, overshadowing Nepal's textile heritage. 37. **Mongolian Horse Racing**: Co-opted as part of Chinese cultural festivities, erasing Mongolia's equestrian traditions. 38. **Korean Ondol (Underfloor Heating) **:Presented as a Chinese innovation, diminishing Korea's technological heritage. 39. **Kazakh Nomadic Tents (Yurts)**: Claimed as Chinese heritage, erasing Kazakhstan's nomadic culture. As a Korean, I am saddened by the reactions of Chinese. If the music video had only been distributed in Korea, no one would have thought there was an intention to steal Chinese culture. Because, while some of the cultural elements in the music video did originate from China, they have been deeply integrated into Korean culture for a long time. When talking about karst, it is a mysterious background that frequently appears in Korean art due to respect for Chinese poets and artists. Thinking of heaven or Shangri-La makes it easier to understand. I just hope people understand that Korean cultural elements are closely related to those of China and that there was never any intention of stealing them.

I mean… at least change a little bit before publishing them. At least gave credit to Chinese culture. At least say it’s inspired. At least state that the artist have previously learn Chinese ink art in the description box. At least explain to Chinese fans. At least at least at least, there’s so many things that Starship could do but didn’t, so disappointing, so disrespectful. At least for the sake of album sales, Starship could have pretend to be there, but they don't even want to show even a little bit of respect…

You are really funny… The elements in the MV are basically consistent with our traditional culture, with barely any changes. The collaboration artists in the MV have previously studied Chinese ink art but it's not stated noticeably anywhere. Just think about it and you will know why we are so angry😢 I hope fans from other countries can at least take a neutral view of this matter and not blindly comment because of their idols. Thank you for your understanding. We hope that our culture will not be violated and our speech will be valued.😢

More than 500 years ago, China was the soft power powerhouse of Asia and actively spread its culture throughout the Asia. Now, 500 years later, they claim that Asia is copying and appropriating China's culture. NO.... Asian countries have been influenced, but they've developed their own characteristics. Buddhism spread from India to China. Would you agree if India claimed all Chinese culture derived from Buddhism as Indian? Today, Asia's soft power powerhouses are South Korea and Japan, and China is literally being influenced by Korean culture in most areas of culture, including CPOP, CDRAMA, fashion, cosmetics, hair, etc. Would the all Chinese agree that CPOP is just copycat of KPOP and has appropriated KPOP's culture? NO, Give it another 20 years and China will claim that CPOP and idol culture are uniquely Chinese.

Fermenting vegetables produces good lactic acid bacteria and improves your skin. For Chinese people, who eat a lot of greasy and oily foods, eating a lot of kimchi is good for their health.

To. RU-vidr Question (1) Just as Western cultures are similar, Eastern cultures are similar in general. This is because they develop while influencing each other. Where does the suit begin? "Britain." Men all over the world wear suits, so does Britain say not to steal from our culture? In Japanese writing, there are Chinese characters. Then, does Japan steal and use Chinese characters? Since jeans are American cowboy clothes, should we say that people all over the world stole American culture? Cultures develop by exchanging them, not by anyone's property. (2) China has banned imports of Korean culture while deploying THAAD missile interceptors in the United States in Korea. However, China has plagiarized and used Korean dramas, animations, movies, K-pop, webtoons, TV entertainment formats, etc. for years without paying copyright. "I know the Korean drama Squid Game on Netflix. It made a TV program in China under the name Squid Game → Squid Victory, which has become a mockery all over the world. In addition, the chairman of Netflix in the U.S. is also paying China to watch the show. Netflix is also losing money in China. The Chinese are countries that don't say anything illegal that they do, but always complain about neighboring countries. Do you have any Chinese friends in the world? China is an outcast country in the world. (3) Lastly, I will tell you how China steals and plagiarizes things around the world. Since posting a link is not possible under RU-vid, I will tell you by writing a RU-vid title. RU-vid Title: "Chinese Knockoffs That Are Too Obvious"
