Good to hear! Wish you all the best! Today I was asked 1 or two and nobody gave me this explanation so I was not sure what to do. Now I hope that at least 1 of those will survive and I will get positive test in 2 weeks ❤
I just want to say, my clinic always pushed for multiple embryos to be transferred at once, i was always against it due to the reasons you outline in the video, but on my last transfer I transferred 3 pgd tested embryos and only 1 stuck. I am 16 weeks pregnant and extremely grateful but I was shocked that only 1 implanted, I was convinced I would have twins, so it just goes to show, you may not always have a twin pregnancy if you transfer multiple embryos!
Glad I only transferred one! This one month old is A Lot of work! My husband and I are happy we chose one because a possibility of twins would've been overwhelming.
My wife and I were just discussing this earlier today as my consultant offered to put 2 in on the next round and we weren’t sure if we should. I’m almost 40 with a history of recurrent miscarriage and low AMH. I tend to get 2 blastocysts on each cycle. I think you’ve answered my question for me. Thank you.
Some fertility clinics don’t even allow transfer of more than 1 embryo. They only practice eSET. The claim is that transferring more than one could be dangerous to the mother (e.g. gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, etc.) That may be true, but it’s also true that clinics can charge additional fee to do another eSET at a later date.
Im on my 2 ivf round and I think this information is very useful I will decide depending on how many eggs will retrieve this time… first attempt we put only one and ended in early miscarriage 🥺
We haven't yet done IVF, but truthfully, I am convinced that even if two or three were transferred, none would stick. This has to do with the fact that we've been trying for so long (ten years), without success.
Thanks for the information Dr Morris. I only discovered since watching your videos that 2 types of progesterone is better than just taking vaginal progesterone. I spoke to my fertility specialist about this and he did agree so it’s thanks to you that I knew this which could mean I have a much better chance of my embryo sticking. Your videos are great and easy to understand. 😊
Your work here is incredible. Lot's of great and accurate information, explained clearly and directly. If I lived in US, I would definitely choose your clinic
Thank you: I was struggling with this question of one or two at a single time. I believe I’ll go with one just to be safe and follow up with another as needed. I’d like twins, but right now, I’d just like to see if I can have one. I’m 35 turning 36.
Thank you so much Doc I'm having my transfer on Monday ur videos helps me a lot. Watching from Paris, France 🗼 🇫🇷 with ❤️ Goodluck to all future mommies 🙏🤞😘 😍
Im 6 months pregnant now with twins😊 transferred 2 frozen embryos 1 boy and 1 girl we did the PGS testing so we knew already the gender before they put it and if its a healthy embryos.
If doctor transfer 2 embryo and both are completely implant in endometrium than Can we remove one extra embryo to low down the risk of multiple pregnancy?
I guess I’m a little confused. These stats are saying that the success rates of two individual transfers is the same as one transfer of two embryos. So, you get the same success of two rounds in a quicker amount of time and cheaper. Isn’t that the whole reason for double transfer, because people can no longer go through the cost & heartache of another round or are under time pressure? Im speaking as someone who’s been saving for the last..14 MONTHS!..to do a transfer and still waiting and saving. If I only do one and it doesn’t work it’s back to square one saving and waiting and hoping it’s not too late for me 😭
Its not actually the same because a higher percentage of people with a multiple pregnancy will experience pregnancy complications and therefore reduce the chances for a healthy live birth. Transferring two embryos not only results in a high rate of twins, it also increases the risks of triplets when the embryos splits Safety first!
An important lesson. People never consider the possibility that embryos can split. I know of a case in which somebody transferred two embryos and ended up with quadruplets (2 sets of identical twins). Lost all four of them
Just curious, how does my IVF clinic get the information from the OB that a live birth occurred? My RE gave info to my OB but is the OB required to report back?
very convincing but the data needs more analysis , when talking about twins complications there is a mix up between identical and non identical twins , also need to compare natural conception DCDA twins with those from IVF , women who had ETX2 usually have poorer prognosis than women who had single ET.
Nearly all twins that occur with transfer of two embryos are "fraternal" (from two different embryos). A tiny percentage can be from splitting of a single embryo. When transferring two embryos, this can result in a triplet pregnancy which further increases the risk of these pregnancies.
my doctor suggested 2 for 6 round (egg donor) I have 2 last embryos top quality and a little lower level incl my age 48 I am not sure if this is a good solution, from your experience is it better to continue with 1 ?
I’m transferring 2 on 4/5 they are Day 5 FET, my only issue is I have a tubal I’m very fertile and so is my husband do you think both babies will stick
Hi dr I am having trouble keeping my pregnancy this month I have last my 4 pregnancy by miscarriage am 36 no children I have pcos and am using clomid can u tell me what u think is happening to me.
You evidently missed the entire point of the video. Two embryos = Twin and triplets = Premature delivery = Babies in the NICU = More money for the hospital
