This is already on YT but I've found a copy in much better quality. Plus it has cyrillic in the style of teletext. The applause at the end is for what follows, but I've left it in as it seemed appropriate.
Incroyable ! Chapeau bas l'Artiste. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
What's interesting about this interpretation is that he tends to emphasize the first note of each measure of the orignial theme. Pogorelich is a very unique pianist.
So many imbeciles hate Pogorelitch for his rhythm and his slow tempo which belong only to him and yet thanks to his vision of music this well-known and almost worn-out piece becomes much more touching ...I love you Master !!
This is the best Für Elise performance... I really love it from the very beginning till the end... And wanna say a thank you for this better video quality. Have a nice day to all of you who are listening to this beautiful masterpiece... ;)
I'm not a talanted pianist by any means, but the way in which he gently yet emotionally plays this piece strikes me with awe. I'm working on Fur Elise right now and this is such an inspiring way to have it be played. I aspire to be like this in my playing.
What beautiful melodies and shapes by three geniuses, all groundbreaking artists - Pogorelić playing Beethoven surrounded by Michelangelo's sculptures (in a chapel designed by Michelangelo) - forming this performance into a masterpiece in its own right. Für Elise played by Pogorelić in _Cappelle medicee_ / _Sagrestia Nuova_ (i.e. Medici chapel), in front of tomb of Lorenzo de Medici (not Il Magnifico, another one) and in front (well, viewed in profile) of sculptures _Dusk_ and _Dawn_ - that's Gesamtkunstwerk in a nutshell.
A bon entendeur...Salut cordial
The only word I understand in your comment is "angeles" and it was enough....I can actually imagine angels huddled around Ivo while he was playing this, listening and "dreaming"...
No ! I was expecting something crazier from Ivo. Too much legato and pedal and played too evenly. The reverberated acoustic didn't help either. "Für Elise" sounded like a lullaby in a haunted castle.
Sadly, his left pinky has indeed become a handicap today, due to his medical condition. Just check out recent footage of him to see what that finger looks like now; it's quite shocking I must say!

@@lanapoet1655 Obviously you didn't get what "crazy" meant in the context, it wasn't hard, though. As you clearly don't know the great I.P. enough to understand what his genius is made of. If you think this is mind-blowing, then you have a lot to learn about music.
