I live in a food desert in the rural south of Missouri, where the "culture" is fast food and animal products. Living on 13k a year, I am still eating a plant-based diet. Don't speak for people.

Just fed myself for a week on $17.89 and it was 100% vegan.

The whole "I can't afford to go vegan" arguement is utter BS. Meat is the most expensive food. For the price of a steak I could buy tofu, beans, rice, vegetables and spices. Being vegan is only expensive if you live on mock meats and vegan junk food.

To many people think they sound smart, using fancy words, abstract theories, this and that. But can not answer a simple question. Just say you do not care about animals. At least do not lie

Being vegan needs privilege????? I don't work, my mom pays for everything, we have 2 hundred or less euros for food. We survive on vegan food. Meat is a food for millionaires. Look at grains - they are the cheapest products. Couscous, oats, lentils - cost cents per portion. A 12 ounce canned meat in walmart almost 9 dollars!

It is so frustrating to hear the same argument again and again: "I am against veganism bacause you need to be privileged to live that way" ... Coming from the most privileged people in the world. We are not talking about Mongolians or Saharian nomads living off of their camels and goats. We are talking about YOU, an IVY LEAGUE student. You have no problem living at peace with your privilege when it comes to air travel or overall ressource consumption, but now THIS is a problem? The hypocrisy!

That first guy's smirk gives it all away. He's a spoiled guy who was never really proven wrong by anyone, and that helped him develop Dunning-Kruger-like confidence in topics he thought through so little, he has to invent the basis for his position on the spot.
