Seriously, you can't be running a channel on watches, be a so called watch expert, and post a comment like this. And the way you've called this watch the Mark "ex-ex" was nothing short of ridiculous. Do your homework before posting videos!
How can you not mention the quick change bracelet and hidden slide adjustment on the clasp?! I have this exact model and those two features along with the 5 day power reserve are what really sets it apart. Looks great on a grey B&J nato.
Missed a beat there..the extending clasp and the 120 hour power reserve are both brilliant sales clinchers. (I have not handled the watch but I am going to do so.) The Santos de Cartier is also really great but only 50 hours of power reserve and no adjust meant on the bracelet . (Although I use the Navy leather strap and deployment which came with mine.)
Beautiful, although I prefer the XVIII.....I feel that the numerals are standing too far of the indices on the XX....they probably did that to get the date window more aligned, but it gives it a too-full dial in my opinion, compared to the XVIII where the numerals are very close to the indices as they are on all other Marks and the Big Pilot
I traded in my white dial seamster for the black dial Speedy 3861 back in October 2023. So far, it's still feeling like the right decision. I do miss some aspects of the Seamaster, especially with it on the black rubber strap, but the overall package of the Speedy just makes it so much better. The bracelet by itself is worth the switch.
Was seriously considering this until i found the lume is only present on the 12 3 6 and 9 markers ....for a flieger i prefer everything lumed like what a Laco flieger pro offers

Wristcheck: Citizen Nighthawk. Agree with you that this must be on of the best GADA watches on the market but how can you not talk about the hidden IWC-button on the clasp for on the fly micro adjustment of the bracelet??
I think it might be the most versatile luxury watch, period. It really should replace the Explorer I as the default "GADA" luxury watch. Esp because it has the quick change strap system (buckle is also quick change), and the watch legit looks good on bracelet, rubber, and leather. Only other watch I can say that about is the VC Overseas, which is like 4x the price.
Great watch indeed, with an extremely comfy bracelet - maybe you could have mentioned the quick release system of it, or the easy sizing and the on the fly adjustment in the clasp, makes it even more versatile - still a really nice video
Same. And not to mention the Mark XVIII bracelet fits it perfectly. So you get IWC’s class leading bracelet too! Such a great watch. Only thing is mine runs so fast. Like 8-15s a day :/

I'm not a huge fan of the dial, but I can't think of a bracelet more perfect than this. If I didn't already have many versatile watches, this would be a strong contender.
It's lovely, but I'd get an explorer or aquaterra before this. Furthermore, hype aside, the White speedy is beautifully executed. We know they wear lovely. Have a stunning movement. And now have a stunning dial face, that would make a stunning pair with your Seamaster 300m.
I love my IWC Pilot's Chronograph 41 in the racing green dial, which also has an open case back, you should do a review of that! And I've got my blue Omega SMP 300M on.
Since it’s a pilot watch it should have more super luminova for use in the air at night. It would look better, and higher end IMO, with the hour numbers with luminova as well. Same if you are using it in the field. It is supposed to be a “tool” watch.
The Mark XX is a near perfect watch... and those Blue and Green dials are beautiful! If IWC could up the water resistance to 150-200m and please lume the entire dial and second hand... and it's a perfect watch. Especially w/that fantastic bracelet!!
I adore everything about it except the polished second and fourth links in the bracelet. So I got mine with a strap. Waiting for IWC to release a fully brushed bracelet in the future.
Hey my friend. I feel u so good about wanting that White Speedy. But its definitly buying into the Hype and U might regret IT. U Love ur Seamaster und U have IT for such a long time now...let IT be the one watch U passs over to Ur child one day. Start collecting Money slowly. Every month a Bit. And one day U have enough for the Speedy. And U have sth to work for thats kinda nice. In 2 or 3 years U have enough Money and then U will See if U really want IT without any Hype. I’ve wearing my white dial Speedmaster Reduced on a tan leather strap at the moment. IWC Mk XX or Mk XVIII are great watches but I still think the crown is a little bit too big. I’d like one though but I can’t convince myself I need another do-it-all watch when I already have an Explorer and an Aqua Terra
I’ve got the Mk XVI. Very versatile. And I got it when 39mm watches weren’t so popular. I’d always been a fan of the MoD Dirty Dozen watches. And nice to see UWC continuing the tradition.
I love seeing an IWC on someone else. They're cool. Just not that interested in buying one for myself. Cool watches though. Maybe when I grow up I'll acquire the taste for em.
It's an excellent watch and on my very short list. The blue is stunning. The bracelet is close to the Rolex jubilee in comfort. One drawback is the choice of planes on the case.
you should do a vid on the things that annoy watch people. As you mentioned the Big Pilot crown...yep it looks a little out of place on that watch. It might have been functional in its day but.... A couple of things that I don't love.... Rolex cyclops, seamaster gas release etc. There are so many better solutions out there. Yes, I would buy a Sub no date if I had the coin!
Excellent roundup. Having owned this exact watch for about a year I agree with all you said, you summed it up very well. One thing you didn't touch on much is the bracelet being incredibly comfortable and the on-the-fly is the best there is. I know some like and some don't like the sporty/slightly-dressy look with the polished bits on the bracelet, but putting personal fashion/style tastes aside the way the bracelet wears is just the best. And it quick-disconnects for a nato when you're going adventuring :-) This really can be a one-and-done every single day watch! I'm a big fan. I had the blue for about a year, then sold it and got the classic (more purist) black dial.
I mean how you can be a watch dealer reviewing a watch and get the name wrong, not mention the micro adjustment or easy exchange bracelets is quite staggering.

The Calibre 32111 is a Valfleurier movement and isn't manufactured by IWC. It's a generic Richemont Group-specific movement used by many brands within that conglomerate.
Ok, and? Hate to say this but Richemont and Swatch watch makers are producing some of the best movements in the business. It's kinda like car manufacturing, by having a parent company, the cost of innovation can be spread out, which also creates shared movement. But for the money those movements are incredible
@@ALL-il1sw The point I was making is exactly summarised by your end statement. If indeed “for the money these movements are incredible”. Why are they used in watches with such diverse price points? Where is the value aspect, when the same movement is used in a £3,600 Baume et Mercier Riviera, a £5,050 IWC Pilot watch Mark XX or a £10,500 IWC Ingenieur? Also, these movements are brand-finished by Valfleurier, so they differ in appearance only. Horology is all about pushing the boundaries of movement design and manufacturing. This has little to do with brand-specific price points, cases, dials or bracelet design. But, I suppose the real controversy lies in the fact. These in-house movements are not manufactured by the companies as claimed on their websites.
@@ALL-il1sw Yes, according to customer feedback on various forums, some 32XX movements may present this anomaly. But, since Rolex hasn't commented on the issue, rumours will persist.

Sinn 556 - realistically that’s a good competitor for this watch. The two are unmatched because IWC has a fantastic movement. when it comes to the design and the overall look , I don’t think there’s much in it.
Forgot the mention the easxchange strap system and adjustable clasp. This is what makes it the MOST versatile, go from bracelet to rubber to leather in seconds no tools needed!! 😢
Got the black dial version in january of this year. It is a real comfort to wear. Really love the wearing comfort of this on a bracelet. The looks is also great if you like field/pilot watch aesthetic. Quirk: the minute hand would jump forward when you pull the crown to hack the movement...but it has no issues with timekeeping at all since mine runs at a net of 0.0 seconds per day (gains 1 sec worn, loses 1 sec when placed dial up resting overnight) Nice to have things: -fully lumed arabic numerals, but i do understand it is a design choice in keeping with the original lume placement of the mark XI. -heat blued hands instead of high polish, to give it that german flieger look.
Lovely bit of kit! I got a Mark XVIII back in December and have it on a black IWC nato. Prefer the brushed bezel and the black date wheel, but the XX is a great update too.
I really love this watch but still prefer my Big Pilot 43. Its definitely not as versatile though. Prefer the Mark XX on the bracelet but to me, the BP always belongs on a riveter strap. If only I could justify having both in the collection...
You really cannot forget the quick adjust on the bracelet. Especially this, it has a really beautiful mechanism through the IWC button on the clasp. No wonder 85 percent have not subscribed. I have not subscribed for sure.

Does this movement still have the jumping minute hand bug- when you hack the watch?! In November i noticed it pushing the crown in and out, plus the lack of chronometer certification was a bummer, therefore i walked out without it.
$2500 is a big stretch. You’ll struggle to get into Longines Spirit for that money. Would I pay retail for it? No. But the beauty with pieces like this is the pre-owned market, which determines what the watch is worth. 8yr warranty also doesn’t hurt, along with 120hrs of PR
The Speedmaster looks 20 times better than your Seamaster, its a no brainer for you to sell it and swap with it dude. i find the dial for Hamilton Murph 38 is much better looking than this IWC especially when you swap it with bracelet. It does exactly what this IWC can do . Currently wearing black bay 58 OG version on my wrist.
Please stop telling us, that you habe the smp300, it is getting more and more anoying and boring. Get rid of it and buy the white speedy, it is so much more nicer. No offence 😀
when they said this is an in-house calibre. Well yeah for the Richmond group. IWC clearly, have the most expensive bracelets and cases ever. in terms of dial, this watch is not really much above Christopher Ward and is below monta, the movement is not better than Tudor . Oris norqain bremont Tudor longines all offer more for less money. I love the bracelet and I love the finishing the plane on the caseback but £5600, you could buy a Rolex perpetual for that.
O, please, for God's sake, that is not an IWC manufacturer caliber, and it was developed by Baume & Mercier, which IWC is enjoying being under the same umbrella of Richmont. Say it....
Versatile? It's just a normal watch with a blue dial. Not 100m water resistant, too sporty to dress up with, too dressy to be a sports watch, no display caseback, poor lume coverage. The only thing it has going for it is it's 40mm diameter and 10mm thickness.
It does have 100m water resistance. The bracelet is pretty much best in the business. He missed that in the clasp it has a ratchet system that can allow it to expand or contracted without taking the watch off. 5day power reserve.
