I don’t understand why poor or struggling people aren’t just honest about it, no one would hate them for it. Interesting to see these developments in E-sports. It was the same with the football world cup in Qatar, a country notorious for violating human rights and the deaths of cheap labourers imported from other countries who were building the football stadium. That was controversial for sure.

One consideration that wasn't explained by this guy or dom is that your career in eSports can end in the blink of an eye. Your league can just decide not to renew your contract. The league itself can fold. Rates can go way down because Riot has a monopoly. Getting money while you can to create a safety net for yourself while you have a fledgling career is a super legitimate concern. What's wild is that this arguement doesn't really make Ginero sound any better either because she blew every cent she made on handbags, she's probably about to spent her check on more. At least for me, I sometimes have conversations where I share what I think should be happening, or would be "better for society". And at the same time, if someone I hate gave me a lot of money to entertain people or create content, I would take it. What I mean is, if it were up to me, I would change things, but it's not, so as long as it's not creating or advocating things that go against my morals, yeah. And I think some people also do that, just on a more public stage. They share what they would want things to look like, but don't want to commit their lives to make that happen.

The lack of perspective from many people who act like being a hypocrite is a worse offense than anything is so weird and nitpicked, it often feels very reactionary and biased in order to attack people in the community they already don’t like while others get a free pass. Dom always brings a lot of nuance to these topics much like Monte does when be talks about it on LFN or wherever.
