Hello Kathy my beautiful teacher As always I did the best I could this morning too The structure of the standing poses remind me my ex way of practicing ashtanga I practice twice each standing pose and I had an inspiration I practice vimasana at the wall as the sittingtwist you introduce in the beginning of the class with the wall as a prop so I focus onthe twisting action Very productive for my days your classes Thank you a lot for doing all this work for all of us out there Namaste 😘☺️🤗
Hi Michelle, I agree twists are both calming and regenerating. A wonderful supplement to our daily practice. Hope to hear from you again after practice! 🙏🏻
thank you very much for this morning practice...I follow nearly every lesson. could you also show an evening practice once you'll find time. Thank you very much, Nathalie
Hi Nathalie, lovely to have you join me. Please look at the video classes for an evening class, I know there is one. And well noted, will do another soon. 🙏🏻
thanks for this wonderful practice. its the first i'm doing with you and certainly gonna join some more. breaking the iyengar structure with little flow is so good to see the body strength in different ways.
Mam thank you so much your lovely advice. Morning is fine for me very love. I always 15 years morning working every day. Not a possible both of me but I can do it for now some time. Love you. Thanks. 🙏🙂
Siddika, happy to hear from you. We all must do what we can, some days are more challenging and we must adjust. When we are clear about our intentions we make time whether morning or later in the day. Remember you are important and the time you take for yourself will be rewarded over time but also each day. Namaste, Kathy
Namastey ma’am, I am thoroughly enjoying practising with you and it leaves me absolutely refreshing post class! The detailing in every asanas help me to correct my posture. I am so so grateful to have found your channel. 😊🙏❤️
Hi Sanyukta, Lovely to hear from you. Thanks for your message. Good to know the classes are helping you to deepen your understanding. All my best, Namaste
This practice is energizing my day. I am here for the first time doing Iyengar yoga. Thank you Katy for such a good practice leading. Your voice helps me to concentrate and execute correctly the position. I will definitely join the Iyengar yoga practice with you. Thanks from Canada
Good morning from Canada, Nice you have found me and thanks for reaching out to connect. Please look through the other classes, there are many to choose from to enhance your practice. Namaste
Kathy: Thank you for your classes. They make such a difference on my day. You a wonderful teacher. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I really love your class. Namaste!
your videos are amazing, thanks for sharing your classes with us. your lower back pain sequence is helping me get through a recent low back/hip injury more quickly. i have a request!! a 30 min class that is all about twists!! for those of us with tight hips & backs :)))
Dear Yusif, Will do my best for more twists. Great to hear your back is feeling better as you heal from your injury. When we have the correct understanding we can address issues before they rise up. Take care and wish you good health and peace in the New Year. Namaste
Hi Tara, In most poses you should be lengthening the neck. The same goes for Downward Dog. If the neck is sore support the head with a bolster, folded blanke or block. Make sure its not to high as not to jam the neck, you want it lengthened and have the head supported. You can also do this head support with most of the forward bending poses and at times you can rest the head on the chair if the height is more appropriate. Thanks for your comment, I will make note of your request for the future.
Thanks for the wonderful video and the meticulous explanation/philosophy around each asana. A lot of people have the habbit of drinking tea/coffee - as a pre-condition for evacuation. After such a routine, is it advisable to practise asana immediately ? If yes - what all asanas can be practised ? Thank you again !!
Hi Goverdhan, nice to meet you. Actually, the best time to practice is after evacuation. The body is better able to move in all sorts of directions and much easier to access the breath through the organic body. One feels light in the body and mind is more clear. After a light meal, say fruits, best to give some time, an hour and a half or so, depending on the amount eaten. Heavier breakfast or meal, 21/2 -3 hours. After just a light drink, practicing should be ok with a short break, 30 minutes - 1:00 hour minutes. All asanas are then suitable to practice. If you don’t want coffee or tea try an abdominal massage at night and first thing in the morning.
@@DesaYogiIyengarYoga thank you very much for responding. Abdominal massage sounds like an interesting idea .. never tried that. I will certainly try that

Dear Singh, thanks for your feedback. I checked the video again and the picture quality seems ok on my end. RU-vid sometimes automatically adjusts our video quality based on how good the internet connection on your end is. Could you please check your internet and make sure its working well. You can also try manually adjusting the quality by clicking the setting icon on the upper or lower corner of your video player. Let me know if the problem persists.
Dear Ambika, please practice the Supta Padangustasana series coming out soon. Also check out the class on Hyper Extended knees. These poses can also be found in some of the other classes. When you practice standing poses you will strengthen your knees if done correctly. Please tell me more about your practice and your knee condition. Namaste, Kathy ❤️
You are the pentacle of my practice.. You ground me seriously inside the body.. As a hypervigilant due to my borderline personality disorder you give me some peace which so much needed.. I can never thank you enough ❤🙏
