Great guitars for an amazing price. My covid collection now consists of 4 IYV. Mine was perfectly set up from the California distributor with new D,Dario XL The only blemish is a black spot almost dead center on the back under the lacquer... turns out to be a small spider which I consider makes it extra badass!
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha "My Covid Collection" that made me laugh! Right on, man, I have the "Mustang" in yellow, (they say it's aged white, but it's yellow), and I LOVE the color....and I just got the PRS one in smoke tigerstripe top.....aren't they great?
I got one couple weeks ago. I'm very pleased with it, after I swapped the OEM crappo strings. Yes it is well made and beautiful. Intonation was spot on and setup was good out of box. Easy to play with slim neck. Holds tune well. The nut was not glued in and fell out when I changed strings; my only issue. $190 bucks + tax, free delivery on Amazon. Money well spent.
My IYV Les Paul had a dark spot on it but I was able polish it out. It took several times but it came out. But that’s mine. But it looked just like the black spot you showed on your guitar. I just received their bender kind of hybrid mustang/jaguar in antique white. And I got to say those single coil pickups really sound good and the guitar was flawless right out of the box. I own American telecasters and Stratocaster‘s but they do not play any better than this one. Those of you who have never seen or played one of these would say I’m crazy but they’re great guitars and I to do not know how they do it in that price range. I did read a post talking about these guitars and how IYV made some kind of deal with Amazon and were selling the guitars just a little over cost so they could introduced their guitars to the American market and it went on to say they want to compete with Epiphone. Again this was something I just read in a post which could be true or false and you could take it with a grain of salt. But the story kind of makes sense.
Get it. It's bad-ass. Mine rocks. I mean... it rocks. The Destiny Wound pickups are smokin.' You can do jazzy type stuff easily. but this thing will rock, and take high-gain. You can do the Uncle Ted thing on it - no problem, with the right amp settings. But you can also take it up a couple more notches if you want. I couldn't believe it. Mine smokes, and plays awesome. Intonation was near perfect, and the neck is nice. No fret sprout on the one I got.
@@jimmyz2098, I feel the need to add that it feeds back rather easily, but laying an arm on the body will usually reign it in. It makes feedback swells a breeze. No, it enables you to elevate feedback swells to an art form! The IJZ-300 may be the sleeper hit of the 2020s, and might just achieve its own cult following.
Mine is arriving on Sunday! Your review helped me decide on this over a Grote or other similar semi-hollows. I've been really wanting a big body guitar for jazz and blues. I expect I'll be changing out the pickups and electronics for some cheap but good GFS stuff with the Kwikplugs. Semi-hollows are such a pain to do electronics work on I'd rather only have to get into the chambers once.
After seeing so many good reviews on this guitar,I just ordered one, and the little blemish is what I call an identification mark,if someone happens to swipe this at a gig, which I've never had happen, but It definitely helps to identify your guitar if it ends up in a pawn shop,or someone trys to resale it.on ebay,ect. I have a firefly 335 and I had to do alot of work on the frets and of course change the pickups because of the microphonic pickups, but it's one of my favorites now, can't wait to get this IYV jazz box, thanks for the great review, hopefully mine comes in as good as the one you have.😊👍

Just got one and exterior looks good. The inside is horrible, like it was cut with a chainsaw. Even under the F holes are ragged and wood is chopped and ragged. It plays and sounds ok but I'm concerned about the wood cracking or splitting. Thinking about sending it back.
It’s a beauty and as an IYV guitar owner I am very impressed with this 300! Any timing issues at the first frets? Sometimes after tuning notes at the first frets can still be sharp. I’ve adjusted neck, action, and filed Nut to help eliminate that. I’d buy this guitar if I didn’t own a FF338. Great review as usual!
Dennis - I've got the FF338 too. Spalted maple, and I love it. It's a really fun guitar, and I think the quality is great - for the price. Mine played great - right out of the box, although I read that others had some issues with bridge and tuners. Easy to change those 2 things out, and cheap. But this particular IYV model is even better than the Firefly. This thing just rocks.
@@jimmyz2098 Hi Jimmy...my 338 had rattling bridge so I changed it and of course the strings. Ive been working on the Nut as my 1st and second frets E through G are sharp. It’s a very slow process but although not exactly right I’d say it’s better. Great sound from it and tuners are acceptable. The IYV spalted Top semi hollow body Tele is just amazing. Only thing I did was add locking tuners as the original ones were not good. We hit GOLD with these 2 guitars and only cost $310 for both! Got me a Cali Classic Strat before Christmas for $80. Some very minor fret dressing and new strings. Gold!
I own this exact same model. I've been looking for a hollow body for a while, but I own a lot of guitars already so I didn't want to spend a lot on a jazz-box. The Nut is cheap plastic, on mine, for sure! but it plays fine , and I cut my own bone so that is no issue for me. The action is a bit lower than my Gibson MM but it still sounds clean with no buzzing. Maybe I got lucky. I could easily pay double and wouldn't blink. It is a great value. It is, by far, the cheapest guitar I own. I have no problem recommending these to anyone who has a bit of set-up skill, although in my case, nothing was really needed. Great video, thanks.
Hello, do you still use this guitar?You say, ur guitar is around 7.8 pounds that would be around 3,5kg. If you have the chance can you measure it? I think it is rather over 8 lbs.
It’s a Korean owned company but they are made in Vietnam. I understand a Vietnam craftsman makes so little that it was cheaper to make them there. But I own two of these guitars there fit finish and sound are on believable for that price. Plays and sounds and looks as good as guitars call Steve five times what they do. I don’t know how they do it either.
