@@51Saffron You and Lewis would be correct. Jerry loved what Lloyd brought to the role and he said that these were some of his favourite episodes. I gotta admit that I had no idea that Lloyd had a funny bone in his body because I used to watch Sea Hunt when I was young and all of that was pretty serious stuff. When I saw him in Airplane (Flying High here in Australia) it surprised me how good he was at comedy. Hard to believe that Bo is now 77!
What's funny is that Lloyd Bridges really was a health nut. So I consider Airplane! to be his greatest performance: "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue."
@@Flame304 It's like he's offering an empty promise. If he was really offering assistance, you'd think he would just give him his phone number instead of asking him to go on a scavenger hunt for it.
One of the funniest side characters in the series. I hope that wherever Lloyd Bridges is, he's joking around with his fellow comedy titan Leslie Nielsen.
lol so many amazing scenes in this ep "Go ahead, pick out anything in the room here. I'll lift it up over my head!" "Look no one is lifting anything--" "THE TELEVISION"
Octavia Guthrie Have to agree with you there and his mum on the show. You believe their his real parents. That goes for George's parent also. Show had the best casting. Best characters, unbeatable.
Both George and Jerry initially had different actors playing their fathers. Each only starred in one episode before getting the axe. If you have Hulu you can see the original Frank in the episode The Hanicap spot.
It really added to the show that Jerry's and George's parents were in the show so much. Belt-less trench coats! The actor said, "Playing Jerry's dad was like having whipped cream on top of a mountain of ice cream."
"How old is he?" "I think he's as old as the father!" LOL...that line always cracked me up. I love his reaction to seeing the grandfather..."OH, COME ON!!" hahah...
The actor who played Izzy Mandelbaum Sr. (Earl Schuman) was actually 3 years younger than Bridges in real life. Bridges was 84 and Schuman was 81 at the time. Schuman made it to 100, dying in 2016.
"My boy!" "My daddy!" "My grandpa!" "Oh come on!" How is it possible jerry Seinfeld n Larry David didn't die of laughter??? This is so funny! seinfeld never gets old!!!
Lloyd Bridges was a national treasure. From "Sea Hunt" to "Seinfeld", he was a class act all the way. From now on at work, I'm gonna, "take it up a notch", just for Lloyd
I remember watching Lloyd Bridges on Sea Hunt back in the 50's when I was a teenager. Izzy Mandelbaum had to be one of my most favorite Seinfeld characters. "It's go time" is such a great phrase.
When I was in the US NAVY we pulled into port in Barcelona, Spain, and some of us decided to go to see a bull fight. We sat down in the arena and were talking and a gentleman and his wife were in front of us and turned around because he heard English being spoken. He spoke to all of us and thanked us for our service. It was Lloyd Bridges. Out of all 10 of us, nobody thought to take a picture or ask for an autograph. We had a great visit, and were all impressed by what a nice common guy he was.
At 1:29 "Oh, I see how it works now. He knocks me outta commission, so you can strut around in your fancy number one shirt." You got to love the Seinfeld conspiracy jokes. Another one is when Elaine breaks it down about the Mom and Pop store that Kramer says they set up the store (for about 50 years) just to steal Jerry's sneakers.
There's already an ambulance here for Mrs.Glickman, there's room for one more.......one of my fave lines of the show...what great actors and writers they had....and to think none of the characters were made to be homosexuals...
jajaja 😂, this is one of the best episodes ever!! I like when jerry's father said "there's room for one more" 🤔 and the part call an ambulance!! We're already in a hospital 😡! Jajaj
I was on a flight once and this older gentleman was struggling getting his bag into the overhead compartment. Instinctively, a group of us (total strangers) started chanting Mandelbaum Mandelbaum.
