This is, hands down, my favorite J-Hope solo track. The groove is so addictive, and I love the vulnerability mixed with strength in the lyrics. And the vocal performance is fire!

j-hope DID HAVE rap battles with the trainees of his company before debut in 2010. He wasn't an underground rapper BUT he had the whole hip-hop culture in him since he was a street dancer for years in school. He has been a rapper for already 11 years ...and of all the rappers of the group, j-hope really stands out in my opinion.

JHope’s style in rapping is all over the place, he experiments on his flow all the time and that makes him very unique and great. I hope you can react to BTS Hip Hop Lover, the rap line told their hip hop roots in that song. What motivated them and inspired them to be musicians. Also Ma City is another great song, talking about their hometowns. If you are into Hiphop you’ll definitely like both. More power.

BTS took this song and created Airplane 2 with samples of parts of this song they perform as a whole group. It has an island sound to it.

Its insane to think he didn’t rap until he joined BTS. Yoongi (SUGA) and Namjoon (RM) helped and guided him so well! Expected from them ofc they were already underground rappers and producers

All this from the guy who wasn't a rapper before joining the group (only a renowned street dancer) and yet is right up there with RM and Suga. When you hear enough of all 3 of the rapper's solo stuff you can piece how how all their flows are so unique and different but work so well together when they are on a track simultaneously. J-Hope's style and flows to me is really representative of his dance style - it's so different than any kind of rapping you normally hear or expect.

Jhope is the bias. Straight up. Honestly he is the most versatile BTS member musically, lyrically, vocally and in dance and that's not because he is the bias its just true. I am so excited for you guys to hear more of the Bside BTS tracks because Jhope almost always has the verse that changes the music up and he is always dope. I dunno where your discord peeps at but there are soooo many dope rap artists in kpop.

You're misunderstanding us, if there's one thing the bts fandom has great pride in, it's the rapline of bts and most of us are into their hiphop side because it plays a major part in their discography

Hoseok has really carved out for himself a signature style, and a sense of confidence that's impossible to fake. Sure, he's always been 'hopeful' in a sense but he's talked of feeling a bit intimidated in the early days of the BTS project , when all of the trainees were rappers with a lot of prior experience. Look at him go now (hell, the mixtape this was off was made in 2018! Think of where he could go)

I love j-hope. I'm glad you guys are reacting to a lot of his music today. I love him, his attitude (always positive), his music, his humor...he's just a great person all-round. As an aside, I'm someone who is almost only listening to BTS music right now. I'm 54 years old and have listened to a LOT of music in my lifetime, but BTS music and their other content (Run BTS, Bon Voyage, interviews, etc.) have been the positive content I've needed in my life for this pandemic. I'm just not looking to branch out further right now, but that's really just more about where I am in my life. Although I do like the new SHINee song "Don't Call Me." I recommend Airplane pt. 2 and the song j-hope just re-released on SoundCloud - Blue Side.

j-hope is fire, so unique and has the most versatile styles of music. Their company BigHit lets them do solo work but they don't promote them as solo artists, but i feel like if they were to actually promote them separately j-hope would be one of the most successful, esp in America

Airplane!!! BTS expanded on this with Airplane Part 2. It’s definitely worth checking out. Hobi is such an incredible rapper. His cadence is so unique to me and I really love listening to him.

There's a huge misconception that BTS ARMY don't listen to anything other than BTS. Believe me, most of us are just music lovers in general and we explore A LOT in and out of kpop. Thing is, we found something in bts music and the members themselves that we never experienced with any other artist. Which is why they are our no. 1 forever and always. I kid you not, a few weeks after diving into them i spent months not being able to listen to anything else at all. And i'm the type of person who breathes music since i was a little kid, a couple of days without music and my mood falls drastically.

Jhope's mixtape is my personal favorite out of bts' raplines solo mixtapes, like y'all said he really is more american style rap, his love for dance really refects in his writing and producing. I feel like dancing and vibing everytime I hear his flows 💕. Also yes!! I love bts, but they have introduced me to equally awesome artists and it has been an amazing ride so far!!

Man I'm still commenting as I'm watching (I would save it up for the end but I don't think RU-vid will let me with all the characters ha!). I LOVE your insight and taste specifically in Kpop. I just discovered BTS less than a year ago (thanks quarantine), and haven't really gotten into other groups. There are certain songs I like here and there. But I found some groups and artists that I enjoy, like Mamamoo (especially Hwasa's solo stuff), and DPR caught me right away...they are my music soulmate. Y'all make me really excited to "rediscover" Kpop, and even have me looking at certain songs I didn't necessarily like at first, in a different way. Also, J Hope imo does not get enough love from new BTS fans, or younger fans. I notice those who pick him as a favorite seem to be people in the music or production industry, who know and recognize raw talent. Sometimes he gets overshadowed by the "hotstuff" members (but really they are all hotstuff lol), and RM and Suga's more aggressive rapping, but he's always been my favorite (tied with Jimin for his unique voice). I tend to go for the more unique members in any group and category and I recognized him immediately as someone extra special.

Every song on Hope World is amazing, but Airplane has always been my fave. That being said, the whole mixtape is great and I recommend listening to it in one sitting with lyrics because it’s only about 20 minutes. Same for RM’s Mono, which is a lyrical masterpiece.

Jhope is my no.1 bias in BTS, so as a Jhope stan, i appreciate the attention you guys have given him.. since he usually get the least compared to the other members 😭

His dancing is SO FIRE in the Airplane pt 2 music video on his verse. J Hope is my favorite. Jungkook is the Golden Maknae (youngest) bc he's good at everything and even did/does sub rapping on group songs...but they call J Hope the Golden Hyung (older brother), bc he literally does it all: he sings, raps, dances, and is a second group leader to RM. J-Hooooope! Always a good time with Hope

I listened to Bollywood music my whole life, then I got into Japanese pop music around 2004 and then fell down the rabbit hole into Korean ballad songs back in 2007 when I heard Kim Jong Kook. My style changed so much since then but when I discovered BTS I Need U back in 2015 I never realized how much I actually replayed that song until I got to know them in 2017 and I Need U was on top of my most played songs in my iTunes. Since then I've listened to BTS's entire discography and it had a little bit of everything. I never got tired because it was so different and so refreshing especially the lyrics! I cannot relate to other kpop artist songs or lyrics on this level. I think the only band which comes close is NELL a Korean rock band and for this reason, other songs and artists have little meaning to me. I hope you can listen to more of V's solo work, his songs resonate with me. I recommend Blue & Grey (V wrote this for his mixtape), Snow Flower, Sweet Night and Stigma

Thanks to BTS I'm 100% tuned in to Korean entertainment industry. Music, movies, TV drama. And I've been reading up on Korean history, geography, politics and economy. Because I'm a 63y old beautiful nerd and 100% ARMY.

Yessss Airplane is one of my favs on his mixtape, "Hope World"!! I think you haven't got many request on this songs because there is too much BTS content (230 total songs at the moment, concerts, live performances, variety shows, etc ...) and it's difficult to choose one at a time 😂 If you like songs that have a lot of the personal story of the boys, "The Last" by Agust D (Suga) and "First Love" by Suga are a great option. Also, "Hip Hop lover" live with lyrics, I really think you would love it, I hope someone have requested all of them on discord!

The majority of bts "fans " on the internet now a days will always recommend vocal songs , they will even recommend covers made by them ( like jk covers ) rather than original made by the rappers. They mostly don't care about their hip hop side and the rappers know that , that's why they started to sing more even in their solo songs ( sadly ).

I love hip hop and rap, I loved it as soon as I heard it, early 90'.. :) Bts have 3 great rappers, 3 different styles, I love all of them, they all have individual mix tapes. There is a Bts Airplane pt. 2.. Uhh also, I don't know if you know, they have a J Cole cover of ' Born sinner', their own version Bts 'born singer'

Suga/Agust D is the story teller from BTS. He can actually be specific when narrating scenarios thru his music. Please check out First Love, Dear My Friend, The Last, Shadow and 724148! 💯💯💯💯 Its funny how you can distinguish bts’ rapline from the way they write and do music. RM is poetic, Suga is the story teller and Jhope has this positive aura (+versatility).
