Hobi is wearing Military Dog Tags. Hobi used to dance to J Cole's Songs when he was still a Street Dancer, and after a listen to Friday Night Lights, he started writing songs and making his own Beats. He even named his first Mix Tape Hope-World after Cole-World, and his name is a play on J-Coles Name. That's also the reason he gave Jermaine so many bars in his Song, to represent his walk on the streets from where he started and to now, joining J Cole on Top of the Roof.

I'm an ARMY but I've been JCole's fan since early 2000. When this collab was announced I was beyond happy especially for Hobi. That first day I watched the video and heard the song I cried. Hobi truly honoured his idol in this song. This is hands down the best two worlds coming together for me, Hopeworld and Coleworld.
When J-HOPE was working on the song he started whistling and he recorded it.....the song was born.....it's the best song!!!!.......huge J Cole fan......#OT7

The iconic for rapper's world Avirex JHope's jacket fantastic. J Cole talking about his own personal status in career in another person's song it's amazing, that shows how he seems to see JHope with respect. Jhope giving him so many lines shows the respect he has for his idol. The alley in the beginning is exactly the same alley from JCole's mv Simba. The street sign saying "It's my call" so meaningful (military service/Army farewell). I loved it 💜 Fun fact: JCole's Born Sinner was transformed by BTS in Born Singer. 😎

I’m loving your beanies… and your decor! I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve listened to this song now. And each time it nestles itself even deeper in my heart if that were possible. Hobi and J.Cole absolutely knocked it out of the park. I feel like it’s was a dream collaboration where sincerity and warmth shines through. It’s filled with genuine and thoughtful lyrics from both sides. It’s style and substance. I love the melody and the rap so much. Considering Hobi came up with so many great pockets of melodies in BTS songs, like DNA etc, it seems fitting that this should be the same. Also I recommend Hobi’s print interview excerpts from Variety. It has lots of details about the song, like how the melody came about from him whistling etc. What he wanted to convey with the song, like warmth in winter etc. As well as his Weverse live from the streets. He shared some really sweet behind the scenes about how J.Cole and him are in touch now etc. Also funfact, the alley this was shot in was the same one from the MV of J.Cole’s 2007 song ‘Simba’. The details and respect from both is just so heartwarming. I feel it’s the perfect ‘Goodby For A Little While’ song and while it is sad, my consolation is Hobi’s words from his wlive after the announcement. Sooner he goes the sooner he comes back. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

a lot of people don't realize this and complain that j-hope's verse is short but i saw someone wrote that j-hope did the second verse in his language, dance, he was dancing to j.cole's verse and that was his roots, him street-dancing to j.cole's songs. that gives a whole new feels to the song

j-hope is a South Korean Rapper, he makes his own music. he's a great lyricist and a marvelous dancer. j-hope is joining the Military Service soon (it's mandatory for Koreans), so "On The Street" is his goodbye song for his fans until he returns in some years. He used to dance to J Cole's songs when he was a street dancer, his favorite album is Cole's album "Friday Night Lights" , an inspiration to start making his own beats. Also, he named his first mixtape as "Hope World" after "Cole World", even now, he showed the big respect he has for JCole, he gave many bars to JCole while j-hope was dancing to his bars, as he used to do when he was an underground dancer. j-hope is a hip hop lover who has been experimenting on many directions to his music, he recently released his solo album "Jack in The Box", its really an album for hip-hop lovers. Hey guys, I’d just like to say that BTS has never been considered much of K-Pop artists because Pop isn’t their main front. They’re incredibly diverse and their musical versatility goes beyond the confines of simple K-pop. You should remember that they started as a hip hop group and explore so many genres like R&B, Lofi, Latin Pop, Ballads, Rap, Hip Hop, Classical, Soul, Funk AND Pop. So it’s not that fitting to call them K-Pop just because they are Korean. Also, I just discovered your channel recently and wow you guys are such cool people!! I watched some reactors that exclusively react to rap. They were impressed & one said that Drake is more popular but JCole is better respected. I asked my son who grew up on rap & is still a huge fan what his take was. He said Drake is a star, no doubt & he can make people he collabs with blow up.
