I'm all in on JJ. I think Daboll can coach the touch passes stuff. I think his talent is off the charts and he's still very young. I'd be very excited to have him.

Great job, guys. I love the opening where you say new York giants dan some of the points you guys mentioned have already been corrected. 1) he gained 16 lbs.2)he at his pro day was throwing rainbow deep dimes 3) the Overstreet dan mentioned was also corrected. See simms complete for film. He's got a huge upside x factor Would not be surprised if he's a multiple sb winner and hall of fame. Nick I think you should get a fart machine to bust balls

Take a look what JJ McCarthy did in that system on 3rd down when they really needed it. That part of his tape influenced my opinion of his ability translating to the NFL.

He faced several defenses over the last 2 years that were within the top 30 defenses of all the ncaa. He faced 5 teams last season that finished in the top 15 defensive teams of all the ncaa. Its not like he woke up every Saturday and skipped the pre game warm-ups cuz he was gonna be facing off against Kent State.

I would also be lukewarm with McCarthy at 6 but yes, would have to put faith in the coaching at that point. Trading up for him would basically upset me but I get why they would. Obviously Daboll and co. would believe that they can fix his deep ball stuff. I doubt I'd be as excited as I would if we got MHJ or Nabers but ultimately it might elevate the offense more than they would. At the end of the day I just want to see this offense be functional, competitive and have the upside to make a deep playoff run. If McCarthy can get us there then so be it.

Gotta trust the coaching of Daboll with QBs. Not looking for McCarthy to be another Allen, but if anyone knew how bad Allen's accuracy issues really were before Dabes got to work on him (plus Allen's efforts, too) they'd have more faith in Daboll's tutelage with QBs in general

One thing I’ll point out is he is changing his mechanics on deep balls. It was very noticeable during his pro day vs his film. I also don’t think his ceiling is as low has people think. Edit: The reason (speculating) he didn’t run at the combine was he added like 15lbs and it probably would’ve been a disappointing time and he didn’t really need to at the pro day with all the hype. Could also be bc the 40 is sometimes about the stance and such and learning that and some prospect just don’t want to waste their time learning it.

Maye is a no for me I think we’ve seen what an ACC quarterback who doesn’t process fast enough has done for us in the past. I want a Qb as bad as the next fan reaching at 6 won’t help this team in my opinion. I like JJ a lot but please don’t draft Maye if you’re listening Joe lol.

How and why is everyone so convinced that Kevin O'Connell can do better than Brian Daboll with JJ McCarthy? What history is that opinion based on. The Vikings are not winning a championship any time soon. The reason this kid is a better fit with the Giants is that he will definitely sit for a year.

The reason people say this is because the Vikings line is far better and they have Jefferson. Funny how that's the same things DJ has never had. I hope for all you maniacs that have wanted Jones gone since he was drafted that he gets a lifetime contract.

And yet the Vikings with that line, Jefferson, Hockenson and Dalvin Cook did squat. I never I wanted Jones gone, I didn't want him drafted 6 overall, I wanted Allen the LB, Quinton Nelson instead of Barkley, I'm also one of the few who wanted Aaron Donald instead of OBJ, how have those 3 picks worked out? Jones time is over after this season mostly due to injuries and inconsistency. JS and Daboll need a chance to develop their own QB, in this draft I prefer JJ or Maye. We'll see.@@BigJoeChestnut

@@RacerXdBrotherevery Giants fans had a QB they liked in that 2018 draft. Obviously most were wrong because most wanted Darnold or Rosen. Drafting a Guard #2 would have been poor value. That's a trade down option. Bradley Chubb would have been a better alternative as he's a pass rusher and important to the game overall. Guards, safeties, etc are not.

It has to do with the supporting cast and system. KOC's system is a better fit for JJ's arm talent. That doesn't mean Daboll can't create a system to fit JJ. He already has proven he can when he created that system in 2022 for Daniel Jones: All easy first reads and if first read isn't there then run the B gap, bootleg action -- with bootleg throws and runs, and run/throw options, etc. But outside of system, Vikings have Jefferson, Addison, Hockenson and two very good OTs.

I feel that more than anything this particular QB class, as large as it is, will produce at least 2/3 non first round QBs that will lead a MVP race, lead his team to SB, have his team in the playoffs consistently, and we'll all be, " holy shit how did all these teams pass on him? Sounds familiar? It's what people sais about Brock Purdy
