Since 2019, the Youngstown Steel Heritage Foundation has delighted visitors with rides behind their Porter built 0-4-0T, number 58. Built in 1937 for the Jones and Laughlin steel company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 58 shuttled molten steel cars within the foundry for most of its life. Restored in 2019 by Rick Rowlands and YSHF volunteers, 58 now pulls weekend train rides on the museum’s short track during the summer and early fall months. If you’re ever in the area, I’d highly recommend checking out the J&L narrow gauge! Filmed off IPhone 13 and edited on IMovie.
