I LOVE Phillip, and I wanted him to win. I was just pointing it out how it was, because vocally Jessica has more "talent". but to me Phillip is the true artist, not to mention there's not many out there like him. Don't assume things!

Yes, check your facts. Even Phillip stated the song he had was not something he would record as his own. Jessica also stated she had to alter what was given to her so it was even weaker than what was there. But with only a day to prepare, it is much easier to alter a good song than one that was weak. Phillip had songs that were better offered to him, and he still didn't think it was his style. Last I checked they gushed over Phillip too.

there were tonz of people that connected with Jessica and Pia, just because you didn't connect with them doesn't mean they are less talented, after all it's music we are talking about here, not connections... that can only take you so far, but talent will always be there no matter what! yes phillip was popular, but Jessica and Pia will always be better when it comes to vocals that's a fact!!!!!!

Stage presence is not about moving around. It's about charisma and having 'presence', like you know how some people just have that ability to catch everyone's eye? They walk in a room and people take notice. It's not looks, it's having a special quality, a charismatic kind of quality. Like Bill Clinton was charismatic and Obama is too, it's just the X factor. Not alot of people have it.

Apparently not according to AMERICA and the votes not to mention all the records he's breaking NON-STOP! Phillip had more to him that just a voice! He has a depth of spirit that came through and connected with viewers, a deep down in his soul connection with music! Only people throwing rocks at Jessica are her angry fans! Please read her interviews! I'll sum up a few I read.. The kind of fan you are!! She politely asked to NOT support her.

Nah she's obviously faking it. I remember when she critiqued Phillips on the finale after he performed "Movin' out" she said: "I've have seen Jessica performed The Prayer before... and i felt like [movin' out] was authentic Phillip right there" I totally flipped out when she said that! Phillip performed that just weeks before whereas Jessica picked a song from Vegas Week!!!

It is true that Jessica was the better singer, she had the range and just natural talent but Josha and Philipps were still great too. I think Phil won because of the fact that the majority of watch/vote are girls but nevertheless he was very artistic in his performances. They all sounded good. Jessica makes us Filipinos very proud but honestly Philipps is more close to my taste in music (i would still pick Jessica over). I think people shouldn't be hating because PP deserved the win anyway.

If her fans would READ her own interviews they'd know she said She hasn't defined herself as an artist yet, and thought Phillip deserved to win! She's too nice to have rabid fans.. Shes clearly stated as nicely as she can she has NO-TIME for angry fans or people who insult her good friend Phillip Phillips!

Phillip writes his own songs, re-does songs and makes them his own, has an enormous stage presents, connects with the crowd AND has a unique voice. Beyonce and and Mariah and the rest are artists, because they are original and make their own music and have their own voice. An artist is capable of bringing something to the table that is rare. Playing an instrument doesn't make you an artist :P

C'mon.. that's just petty. Even though I voted for Phillip since the beginning and am a big fan of his, I never once put down any of the other idols - especially Jessica. And I wouldn't. She has an amazing voice, but so does Phillip, in a different way. They are in totally different genres. In the end, they both are/will be great :)

First off I'm a 100% Phillip fan! It's only some Jessica fans and they don't even hate him. They hate that he won! Doesn't matter to them what Jessica thinks or feels AT ALL. It was ONLY about the WIN! If they were TRUE fans they would read all her interviews like I have, and support her.. I don't have a bad thing to say about Jessica being a major Phillip fan! That's where the two fan-bases differ! Jessica does NOT like negative fans!! She has way to much class for a lot of them!!

No but he will! Did American Idol so sick. Doubt any would have kept going! Jessica has a phenomenal voice and is beautiful but that's it for now! If her CRAZY fans were real fans and got over Phillip winning and read interviews about her like I DO even as a Phillip fan! They'd know she said "Phillip knows who he is as an artist already I'm not there yet he deserved to win" she also said. "I don't want angry fans who put down my good friend Phillip" She's far more mature than a lot of her fans.

Phillip won because teenage girls thought he was cute Duh! the fact that Jessica is only 16 years old & her talent is so beyond her years made people feel threatened, there was nothing special about Phillips performances even though he sang different songs week after week it got boring & it was all the same. Jessica kept it fresh doing up beat tempo songs, to slow ballads & killed it every time! the judges saved Jessica because she's Amazing they would not have saved Phillip if he got voted off!

you're right, co'z american idol blocking all jessica's songs in itunes. and by the way they gave phillip the songs a week before the finale while jessica got the song selections a day before. is it sabotage ? you may not agree but try to watch taylor hicks interview on idol hangover. don't get me wrong, i like phillip too and i don't blame him co'z he was a victim too.

Wow, no idea what went on here and don't even want to know.. But just to clear this part up. Phillip had been offered a recording contract by Jimmy Iovine and two other labels before (Home-coming week)! As his Dad stated on camera at that time. "He hadn't signed with anyone yet".. Obviously both Phillip and Jessica are doing very well post Idol!

this was prob the last season of AI that i will watch. not bc jessica didnt win (even tho she should have lol) but the show has had its course. and if u think about it, out of all the seasons theres only like 5 or 6 contestants who have made it to the top and have stayed there.

Yeah what does that got to do with anything? They DID get a choice to choose btwn two songs, hence Jessica saying 'she picked the song bc it showcased her vocals more'. Why would she say 'picked' or there wasn't more than more choice? Nah they never gushed about Phillip the way they fawned over Joseph and Jessica. Joseph was pimped really hard it was hilarious.

I'm done voting for AI. I now realized no one can beat teenage voters. The pattern is obvious: WGWG as they say. Jessica was set-up for failure. They gave her an ugly song that I don't think anyone will sound good singing it. They gave Phillip a song that perfectly suits his voice, gave him nice song production, and the judges gave him standing ovation - on a very simple song. They also didn't let Jessica sing her most successful song which is either "I'll always love you" or "I have nothing."

It does seem like more than less! I have friends who are her "Normal Fans" I know, he gets hate leveled at him personally. Death threats too, I've never witnessed criminally insane AI fans before? She wouldn't give these NUTS the time of day! You've gotta LOVE how much he's doing, but it's fueling their hatred again! It's the BIG SLAP they need though! I still wish Jessica a life of success!

Jessica can sing huge songs that are known by many. But just like on Tuesday she sang a song that wasnt really known and she went flat. Yes, Jessica is an amazing singer with a great voice but that's all she is a singer. Phillip won because he is an artist and can take any unknown song and make you want to get up and dance. Just my opinion.

Not the voice? HA! Re-cap. Hes been on tour writing his album. Most downloads on itunes. Single sold 573k in 2 weeks was given his "GOLD" record at Nokia Theater during AI tour 7/23 He (only) was asked to SING at Cap in DC 4th of July! He sang live on field before All-star Game in KC. Played "HOME" during opening of Olympic Games. Had major surgery keeps on going. Where is the fictitious land of "JUST EVERYWHERE" Jessica's been? Phillips voice most requested and televised! And no County fairs :)

Jessica did her best when not being judged anymore the girl was obviously a bundle of nerves the whole time cause she is way, way better when not being judged! Pitiful, for Jess to lose to this guy who is not going to influence anyone to do anything.. an idol is someone you want to emulate.. who is going to want to be like him...? True entertainers have lasted for decades in the stage... Elton John, Phil Collins, Madonna, Cher and so on... Phil Phillips is a truly entertainer, he sings, he "dances" and he connects with the audience in a more profound way that JS did... Remember Kelly Clarckson, Carrie Underwood, and the ones who didn't win Daughtry, Clay Ayken and so on... they are entertainers too... Phil is a guy who's gonna be around for a long time... be prepared.

YaI know Christina is successful, but back in the late 90's-early 2000's when both were more active,Britney ws MILES ahead of her in terms of fame & popularity. 2. Katy Perry is really bad at live,so I wouldn't be saying she's better than any decent singer... Rihanna isn't that great either, but both of them are entertaining 4. I agree they have stage presence, phillip has it too, not a huge amount but definitely more than Jessica (which imo has none of that) 5. Don't call him names, that's low.

Nah! Judges made you think a J did! P2 hid how critically ill he REALLY was til after! Hid 100% his family founded Org MissionChange to feed the homeless P2 worked for since a kid. Met his gf 3yrs ago volunteering at a shelter! All of this made me even prouder that I voted for him based solely on talent! Great guy, big heart, superb values from a family who's been making a difference long before A-Idol was a ever a thought! More should be like him! Definition of American Idol? Definitely=P2 :-)

If they were pimping Jessica, they would have shown her audition from the start but nooo she was not seen til Vegas. If she was pimped, she would've gotten a freaking marching band and would've gotten a standing ovation for each of her performance because she's always consistent. Phillip isn't a carbon copy of Dave Matthews. Just because they perform the same way doesn't mean they're the same person. Just like Jessica and Whitney Houston aren't the same person but the perform and sound almost identical. And "the whiter you are the better"? The top three were a Filipino girl, a Southern Caucasian boy, and an African American boy. Joshua and Jessica both perform the same way, that's why they both got kicked off. They didn't connect with the audience like Phillip did.
