Why did SM make J-min's korean debut just now.. She would've been famous(very popular) right now if they let her debut earlier than wayy earlier japan 6 years? wow. SM PAY ATTENTION TO SINGERS WITH VOICE. JMIN IS AMAZING SHE DESERVES MORE.
Let's admit it, the general public cares more for pretty idols that can dance well (esp if they are male ahum) than artists that can sing really well. K-pop is all about the eye candy and entertainment and not so much about the quality of the songs and singers.
Maybe the creative team threatened to quit in disgust if they had to do another pure box video :P (see also the so much better new f(x) video) I am *so glad* she finally gets a Korean album.
***** I feel like you took my comment negatively. I was just saying that SM tried to do a storyline since the past SM videos are always just dance videos or them singing in pretty rooms/boxes.
It's a given that every artist, groups of SM Ent. are instant popular and no.1 on charts, why it's not possible for J-Min? SM Stans? BTW, J-Min is really a good singer!
Okay everybody, she isn't from SMROOKIES. She's been with SM for a long time. She is only now making her official debut. She's made songs for OST's and all that before with SM but never an album/mini-album. Finally she's releasing a mini album!!!
I'm surpsired she is not so popular because her talent is amaizng and music is much better quality thank most of kpop songs which are mor popular its like .. wtf ?!
I honestly think J-Min will excel better in pop rock songs like this as well as "stand-up." I think her voice is unique and special. I hope she'll get more recognition soon because she deserves it.
I feel she is underrated everywhere. Her Cross the Border album didn't even chart on the Oricon and it is amazing....actually none of her stuff charted.
SM on the roll with giving their Solo artist's some limelight, now they need to give Zhang Liying a well deserved solo comeback. BTW this is REALLY GOOD, I know it's an SM room but the space plot is really awesome and her VOICE is amazing and she can play a guitar. I'm liking her.
I've never really liked the girls from SM but this girl has caught my interest. She pretty AND her vocals are outstanding; something SM isn't very good at doing. SM usually produces pretty people who can't sing with the exception of about 10 or 11 (give or take) of the idols that are under them. In my opinion, she's got more talent vocally than almost all of SNSD, TaeTiSeo not included. Hate me. I don't give a fuck, but this girl can sing. "But she just debuted so how can you say she can sing better than SNSD?" OK first off, half of SNSD are there purely off of looks, not because they can sing. Personally, I don't think SNSD needs 9 members. 3 or 4 of them are enough to make SNSD because only that many can compete vocally against people like... Hyorin or Ailee (maybe). I can say the same thing about unneeded members for every group in any entertainment out there, not just with SNSD. Its the same with EXO. I think that Baekhyun, Chen, and DO have amazing voices, even better than than some of their sunbaes. SM should start producing people like this girl, not people who look the part but can't sing for shit.
The thing is with Korean idols is that they're not just singers, they're performers. Normally, but not always the case, the ones with the best vocal ability can't dance or maybe they don't have the height or face etc.
I would like to say like this: SNSD have their own success not only base on their vocal, look,... but they have a great combination. They have Tae, Jess, Seo, Tiff, Sun for their vocal, they have Hyo, Soo, Yul, YoonA for their dances, and they all have a good looking. Kpop idols are not only singers but also performers. The choreography is made Kpop popular now. In fact, they create a group to have the most nearly perfect combination. They can back-up for each others. Not offence but SM have more ok vocalist than YG or JYP. For example: 2NE1 has Dara who can't sing, CL is rapper not vocalist, Bom has a great tone but a terrible technique that gradually make she lose her voice, Minzy is the best in 2NE1 but only in the same level of Sunny, faraway from Ailee, Hyorin, Heari,... and you know 2NE1 don't dances much. Wonder Girls is better, they have Sunye which is equal with Tae, Yeeun is equal with Jess, Seo and Tiff, and SoHee, Hyelim, Yubin, Sunmi is not a good vocalist and they don't dances good at Hyo, Soo, Yul, YoonA. Hyo, Soo, Yul, YoonA can't sing well but they do pretty good their jobs, dancing :D
but sometimes the "pretty" or "handsome" one is more popular than the one who can actually sing tho.. ironic indeed but that's why they're all under 1 group.. they're not pure an idol who just can sing but a complete packet consists of dancer, rapper, visual, singer and other.. that's i think why SM's artists attract so many fans..
She is one of the best Singer in Korean music industry......She deserves so much more.....really wish SM promoted her more....even if she got more osts she would easily win people with her voice
Haha that's the point of SMRookies. Wendy was featured in the OST of Mimi, Seulgi in Henry's album and Fantastic video, Irene in Henry's 143 video and Hansol in this one.
Stand Up is my all time favorite song from her, but know that she's coming with an album I can hardly contain my self. This is brilliant. I love her voice and her aesthetic.
Finally SM you are doing J-Min some justice by letting her do things in Korea besides OSTs!!! Thank you thank you thank you for finally letting J-Min Shine!!
I think J-Min is one of the best singers in Korea and I'm really happy that she released her own album and I hope she will create and of course sing more awesome songs like Shine.
Her voice is wonderful! And I like the song. Why doesn't this have more views? oh that's right, kpopers don't consider her idol enough with all the dancing and voice filter effects. At least this girl's voice seems legit.
Dear SM ... please focus more on J-Min! Not trying to attack these artists, but pretty much everyone is sick of the aegyo boy and girl bands. We don't need anymore factory produced singers. When J-min sings I can feel her emotion and it really gives me chills. Please help this girl get the attention she deserves.
Why is she so underrated? If she's not the best, she's definately one of the best artists of SM (at least in a top 3 imo), she deserves much more attention :(
Why am I the only one here that appears to have heard of Jmin, much less listened to Stand Up over 200 times -_- God this post Gangnam Style generation is sickening. Before speaking at least educate yourselves on an artist who debuted before fx, EXO, and SHINee.
Good I'm not the only one that feels that way. It make me laugh when people say they're huge SM Stans when they don't even know who J Min is or the grace or trax. I'm like whattttttt
I wouldn't go so far as to call them "sickening", but they are obviously not as big of fans as they say. lol Though I think we should be glad that J-Min is getting some real attention from SM finally, since this is her debut in Korea, aside from OST appearances. Especially with this awesome MV.
There's no need to be rude to people just because they've never heard of or about a certain artist. You could, for example, tell them what they do not know, instead of expressing disgust for a new generation just because they didn't know. You could be a nice and generous KPop lover who invites others into the culture instead of being condescending.
Well it's not like you know every kpop idol that debuted before f(x) SHINee or EXO. Sm wasn't putting that much focus on her, and I only actually became a kpop fan last summer of course I wouldn't know every sm artist that ever lived. I like all of sm artist I do know about and I like her now too.
Excuse me. It's not only you who already listened to her a lot of times. So don't be too confident that you know her first or that you know who debuted first before f(x) SHINee or EXO. I became a shawol because of TTBY and of course I know the OST. Even I was waiting for her official debut. If after you saw this comment, think that you were trying tell something else, well I'm sure most of us think that your comment was NOT really good -.-
Okay...I have heard about her, but had never heard her...the girl can seriously sing. I read that she was incredible and for a change, the artist lived up to the hype. I am officially a fan of J-Min. SM just seems to have the talent locked up these days.
I really love J-Min. Her voice and rock sound it's amazing!! I'm very glad that she came back with this kind of music since "Stand up". I like her japanese songs and her last ballad song, but I really miss this rock side of her. 제이민 사랑해요! 화이팅!!
By far one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. Honestly, I dont understand much of it atm. (training Linguist) However the feels she is bleeding off, just makes you understand what she is trying to say. Wonderful singing. *applause*
Rookie J-min is out the gate with a smash hit on her hands! Love her already! The video is very well done as well. SM Entertainment always gives you quality entertainment!
