I think that's why I enjoy period instruments so much---they so pure, soothing, and elegant that it's surreal.

Emi, thank you for playing, you are the best flute player I have ever heard. I stumbled upon your PVC tutorial, and the found myself here. I can not express how deeply your music moved me, and I hope to study the flute for the first time. This is the tone I would want to achieve. You play as though you are only" humming" yet such beauty comes out. There is wisdom in your playing. I hear so much good from you. Thank you.

I truly love your sound and musicality. Because of you, I began playing the baroque flute last year because I wanted to do a Telemann piece the way it was meant to be played. I even made the pvc pipe baroque flute you had posted. I think my professor wrote about it and tagged you, which was embarrassing because my playing wasn’t that great haha.

So lovely! Usually I like the creamy sound of resin baroque flutes (surely they sound like ivory ) than the woody, rustic sound but you apply such a wide range of expression and dynamics (in service of a lovely lyrical sensibility of course, not just prowess display of “lazarevich- ego”...) that it just sounds lovely!

A lovely performance, however, if memory serves me the piece in e minor written during J S Bach’s tenure at the Court of Anhalt Coethen, Prince Leopold had neither Lutenist nor Guitarist in his orchestra. The Prince had a Viola Da Gamba player besides himself (he also played both harpsichord and violin, along withe orchestra, a break in court etiquette playing essentially with “servants”). Whether you call it Historically Informed Performance or Performance Practices, it’s about as musicologically correct as using continuo organs (senza harpsichord) with Lutes and/or guitars, or J S Bach Cantatas with full choirs behind the orchestra, when at most there was only eight singers at the gallery, and more often than not only four (the fact these were all male wouldn’t go over big today). So lovely performance, just neither the instrumentation as intended or performed; J S Bach in a garb slightly above a Piano playing the continuo and Boehm Flute, getting the music out to the public while a reflection of 21st century orchestra touring realities. Nothing against guitarists, I have two sons who played in groups, just That’s not to say possibly later the work was performed in Leipzig with the Collegium Musicum, however as a Lute cost as much as to maintain as keeping a horse annually (the Collegium’s musicians were college students at Leipzig’s University), and no record of any of J S Bach’s ever writing for the Baroque Guitar, I just can’t fathom the recent popularity for including both instruments for J S Bach’s chamber music. And that includes a guitarist for the 5th Brandenburg performance by another group.

Le jeu de la flûtiste est beaucoup trop maniéré, et le soutien de la ligne de chant manque cruellement : le son de chaque note se dégonfle sans cesse et la musique de Bach ne chante plus du tout ! Interprétation déprimante..
