This is likely the most well known prelude by Master Bach. It has a simple figuration on a chord repeated throughout. Wouldn't Bach have loved the new piano forte with its sustain capabilities? His imagination certainly suggests he meant for a more sustained chordal blend here. I used quarter pedal sparingly. The challenge of this piece is keeping notes and rhythm tonally even, while preparing and announcing the structural harmonic shifts. In m. 30 the piece arrives at the dominant 6/4 chord, the high point dynamically.
