This opened my eyes like nothing else would. In those days, the entire Western correspondents' corps would periodically descend to Srinagar from Delhi to cover the events in Kashmir. At some point, because of the strife, there was only one hotel open in Srinagar, the Adhoos on the Jhelum Bund. The foremost voice in those days was that of Mark Tully, the bureau chief of the BBC News عربي, and an internationally recognised journalist. The Indian National Congress government was then accusing #Pakistan of funding, arming, financing, and training inside Pakistani Kashmir, the Indian Muslim militants (JKLF in those days), and then sending them back across the LOC border to create havoc. Mark Tully’s contention was that it was not true. And in this, he was followed not only by the entire Western correspondent group, but also by most of the Indian newspapers and magazines, stringers, and correspondents in Kashmir (like India Today). I was the lone voice that felt it made sense, and wrote so not only in the French and Swiss papers (Le Figaro) I was working for, but also in articles in the Hindustan Times, Indian Express and Bombay’s tabloid Blitz. The ethnic cleansing of the Kashmiri Hindus (the term ‘Pandit’ is misleading) shocked me beyond belief: I saw for the first time that a people in the name of their exclusive and intolerant religion, could kill, rape, maim, and chase out another people from a different religion, who had lived side by side with them for generations. Till today, the plight of the Kashmiri Hindus hounds me. In 2004, I received in the Parliament of India, at the hands of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee (photo) the Nachiketa Award for Excellence in Journalism. With it came a cheque of 50,000 rupees and I decided to use the money to curate for the first time an exhibition on the plight of the Kashmiri Hindus www.factmuseum.com/kashmiri-pundits/). This exhibition was opened in Habitat Centre, New Delhi, by Srisri , L K Advani, and was visited by numerous leaders of that time, including Murli Manohar Joshi, Dr Karan Singh, and many others. We then travelled India with this exhibition: Bombay, Calcutta, Bangalore, and Chennai. Then, thanks to the help of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar we showed it in many parliaments around the world: Scotland, England, Germany, Poland, Israel, and others, and in 2011 in Capitol Hill, Washington, which led to a US Congress resolution, taking notice of the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits. He was particularly angry at the depiction of the razing of the Somnath Temple, a painting which was based on an edict (firman) of Aurangzeb, which he had approved and stamped with the Emperor’s seal. @narendramodi, who was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat heard about it in an article published by The Hindu, and called me to Ahmedabad. He subsequently flew to Bombay in 2016 to open our Shivaji Maharaj exhibition 'www.factmuseum.com/chhatrapati-shivaji-maharaj-a-hero-for-modern-india/ with Sri Sri. IMDB dipped/slashed the ratings for The kashmiri Files at their own arbitration. Event though the actual mean is ,9.6 stars, they have rated it 8.3 stars (they say that they did this because they spotted a different sort of voting pattern, i e suspicious). Humble request to go and watch The Kashmir Files. I have watched it last night. It hits you to your core. Stark, terrifying and tears worthy. A community suffered and we witnessed silently. Crushed their voices. The movie is not for the faint hearted. It will be tough to watch but must watch.

@@shivamjugran1175 Yes I said it "has" a mishmash, not that it is a mishmash of just those languages. It's obviously also a combination of Sanskrit and prakrit.
@@shivamjugran1175 I'm improving my hindi to replace foreign terms with native words and learning sanskrit as well. Problem is if you say सप्ताह instead of हफ्ता in casual conversation with friends, for example, everyone will laugh and look at you like you're an alien. I will keep trying though because I think it's important.
I’m from Patna and live in New York and my wife and I went to see The Kashmir Files in a theater and it was a full house. J Sai Deepak’s book “India That is Bharat” is a great read.
You are so articulative and the future hope for hindu unity Sai ji and I feel such erudite scholars should have a place in elder house (Rajya Sabha) of governance as whistle blowers. The present youth is misguided a lot and are proponents of " Jo hogaya so hogaya", so called secular vadi just to avoid conflicts and move forward. I feel this is dangerous for the sustenance of we as a community. Whereas, the non- Hindus are always taught of how to conquer us and making all out efforts to percolate this desire in their younger generation. As a result of this may be a few decades later we develop a generation of timid hindu people who will easily br conquered making our Hindu existence a question, Can there be a special programs for this young generation to bring back the valour we are known for, that was the most important reason to keep our identity despite of more than thousand years of invasions and efforts to convert us.
Request to all the folks, who have or rated on IMDB. Please rate it between 8-10. Don't rate it 10 only as it shows it is biased rating. So, IMDB has changed it's way to calculate the rating and it fall down to 8.3 even after most people did give 10 out of 10 and others given 1 out of 10. There's no rating in between. Try this and see, how does it improve. Keep an eye on it after you do it.
I totally agree with the point that Vivek deserves all the rewards that this movie entails...it is high time someone showed courage and bravery and he deserves all the benefits for being the first of many more such works of art
If u read the book by Jagmohan, the then Governor of JnK, you will bang your head as the bugger has not even devoted 10 pages out of 500 plus, not even mentioned the word Genocide or Exodus
