A few things this game has that Jump Force lacks: 1. This game embraces the cartoony art styles of the characters and their worlds and doesn’t try to make them look realistic, so they seem more appealing to look at despite being in an older game. 2. While the story is non existent, it still just lets the characters be themselves and interact in cool ways, so it’s much more fun and relaxing by comparison. 3. There’s more variety in the J Stars’ roster. Jump Force focuses primarily on big name action oriented stories, and combined with the smaller roster, the variety is practically non existent. In J Stars, we had a few some slice of life characters along with action heroes, and among the action heroes were characters who weren’t well known (at least here in the West). Sure, the slice of life characters were relegated to assists, but they still had a role nonetheless, and made the roster more colorful. 4. The colorful backgrounds that show up as the ultimates are activated bring more focus to the attacks, and the more relaxed pacing makes the motions easier to follow, unlike in Jump Force, where there’s an emphasis on high speed editing and a lack of colorful backgrounds to make the attacks pop more. 5. The background music in J Stars is much more unique. Each series in the game gets their own theme to match their style, which allows for variety. Meanwhile, Jump Force just kind of has the same background theme for every fight. At least, I think it does? To be honest, I almost never notice the music as I fight, it’s so fucking bland. The only theme I can recognize is the main theme for the game that plays in the opening and hub.
Anthony Evans I can agree with you on most of those things except the point of jump force was the jump world and our world merging together, hence the more realistic approach. I go back ad forth on which game I think is better as jump force has somethings j star didn’t that got me excited (mostly actually local play, a story and characters like jotaro and yugi moto). Maybe j stars just because of having more series that represent jump as a whole (specifically gintoki, toriko and tsuna).
Imo the gameplay is also much better in J-Stars than Jump Force. Jump Force has these cookie cutter combos and pretty much the same combo route across all characters, while all the characters in J-Stars have unique combo routes and feel unique as well outside of just using their abilities.
J Star Victory Vs is so underrated that it actually needs to be remade by the same company, but this time with new characters from Jump Force and dlcs some time in the future.
Imagine this roster and environments with Jump Force Gameplay and story. I would buy that without much thought. And well maybe the few aditions Jump Force had (Yu-Gi-Oh and City Hunter)
@@Mark-tq7bf jump force gameplay is very boring because every anime game has the same gameplay the j-stars gameplay is far better because of the freedom and 2x2 is much fun
gintoki was shit in this game though. but fan service outweights pretty graphics. neither game is competitive and you can do cool combos on both. toriko, seiya, sasuke and kenshin have pretty funny combos that become broken with kumagawa: the drones of j stars.
*Fairy Tail isn't from Shonen Jump!* *Neither are Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist, Tokyo Ghoul, Attack on Titan, Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Akame ga Kill, Sword Art Online, Soul Eater, Zatch Bell, Sailor Moon, Nanatsu no Taizai (Seven Deadly Sins), or Parasyte* This is a game for Weekly Shonen Jump characters. Characters from other magazines like the series mentioned above (and many others in the comments here) have no chance of being in it.
+Juan Felipe Salazar Weekly Shonen Jump is a magazine. Shonen is a demographic (meaning targeted toward young boys/teens). Fairy Tail is a shonen, but it isn't in the Shonen Jump magazine. It's serialized by an unrelated company, which publishes "Weekly Shonen Magazine", not "Weekly Shonen Jump".
Carl Bloke Nope, this game just has 32 series from shonen jump. The actual magazine had this many series en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_series_run_in_Weekly_Sh%C5%8Dnen_Jump
I didn't like this game before...but that all changed when Jump Force came. Now I feel better appreciation for this game. It has more characters, actual environments that are destructive, characters that are actually expressive, and finishers that are just too satisfying for their own good. The story in this game is still pretty stale and meh, but at the very least, its quality of gameplay and detail are better than Jump Force...that's right, I said it.
The story in j stars were good especially the ichigo and goku with zebra and the conversation between the characters were very funny and it was very good in its days when jump force came out I excepting the game to be superior but it was bad 1. The story is creepy 2. If the battle system has hell lot of issues 3. The update and dlc time are bad and it's start to kill the game already
So much people asking for non-Shonen Jump characters... Please read the comments or know about what the game is celebrating in the first place before you complain...
@@VincentVincent_89 how can something that's living and breathing become invalid?? In conclusión you tried to sound smart, and to be quite frankly honest i can very much tell that you're very irratated by my factual stament which in THIS case makes you're opinión an invalid existence 👄
jojo star how could I be irritated by a online message? That doesn’t have any factual sense in any type of context. The fact your trying to make your self seem smart in a online comment is a little pathetic no offense jimbo. I’m just giving a opinion on why I enjoy JF over J stars.
Apparently this game is useless now. Jump Force, baby! Edit: I know Jump Force is trash and i know this comment didn't age well so please stop busting my balls.
Here's a tip for when you're playing as Gon: When performing his ultimate attack, he will try to kick his opponent to throw him at the air (5:45). If you miss he won't perform his Jajanken attack. To make sure the attack works, get to your opponent as close as possible so his kick won't miss. If he hits, we will perform his Jajanken and it will hit. Sorry for my shitty english
+horaciosi I'm awesome at using Gon. once when ichigo was going to teleport to me he said a line first the monent he said his line i triggered Focused jajanken and when Ichigo teleported to me he appeared right where i was going to kic, perfect timing
I don't know anything about Reborn other that when the protag powers up he loose all of his clothes except the underpants. Disappointing that this is not the case here...
And also, I'm not up for "they should add this character", but if they had Baoh in this game it'd be awesome to see him use break dark thunder with that laser cannon.
+Jelly Biscuit JoJo was in Weekly Shonen Jump until Part 7 actually. They had data for Jotaro, Dio, Yoh (Shaman King) and Dai (Dragon Quest) in the game but they got cut out
I was upset that Jump Force didn't have Toriko in it, he's an amazing character and his series just ended last year with him using easy more bigger moves than in here, he would have been perfect
Jump force had so much to work with. One piece fans(Me included) finally got Zoro and Sanji. Dbz fans got Piccolo, Trunks, Cell. Why couldn't Toriko have all 4 of the heavenly kings. Coco would have been great additions
The fact that Jonathan has 9 episodes but they still gave him a cinematic version of his two strongest moves into one ult just to make it seem more destructive like an AoE will be funny
I like Saiki Kusuo. Because he's my favorite character in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. But too bad, in his show doesn't had a action moment. But, good enough anyway. What do you think about him ?
I mean Saiki IS a fucking OP character. Being able to become invisible, have as much resistance as to be able to survive a Missile to the head without protecting himself and his physical Strength (While in his limiters and controlling himself) being able to break walls easily. Can read minds or control them and there isn't people shown to be immune (Except for Nendou). Can control Weather and everything related like Fire and Ice. . . And a lot more shit. I think it would be funny to have Kaido as a comedy character like Gintoki (I know Gintoki IS actually strong AF in his universe). Imagine having JUDGEMENT KNIGHTS OF THUNDER in the game
I laughed when i saw that the Final Getsuga Tenshou is Ichigo's ultimate attack, seeing as how it's been several years. Now, if we could see him put his new(ish) duel zanpaktous to good use for the new game, that would be amazing.
So I came here looking for JoJo and instead of skipping to them I decided to see what all the other shounens had to offer. Pretty fucking radical to say the least...the Joestars take the first napkin with the posing though.
I don’t care what nobody says, Jonathan Got the Best Ultimate In the Game. The Voice Acting and movement of the move is just so hype and it looks so good. It’s better than most of these Jump Force Ultimates
I can't believe a game like this exists, I didn't know until now and I'm lost for words because this game has lots of my favourite anime characters all in one game 0_o ,but it's too bad I live in the UK and don't understand anything the characters are saying. 😞
At 5:39 I never realized it since I never got the game, but gon is saying his “I don’t care if this is the end, so I’ll use everything” quote. I knew the animation of the move was a direct reference to what he did in the CA, but the quote too... it’s basically him using it without the big change
Jump Force: Ha, Im way better dad.😎 J Star: How son?🤔 Jump Force: Your graphics are horrible😜 J Star: Like your gameplay and everything else.😏 Jump Force: 😮
I just want to say personally that I enjoy both J Stars and Jump Force very much. Both have equal amounts of pros and cons that I give them both around a 7/10 rating. I’m not going to pick one over the other, they’re both fun imo and that’s all I care about
How did they go from this... to Jump Force... they could've just ported this, given it higher res textures, added more characters & kept the same format like most fighting games do
It's pretty sad to see a lot of the guys featured earlier in this "series" end up not being playable for this game. But at least we got some cool new characters. I really want to read some Toriko.
pommybomber i didnt like the first episode. it seemed like "filler, the anime"... BUT i read the seiyuus and toriko is voiced by the guy who does the voice for zero in megaman x. and coco, a main character is voiced by x's seiyuu. so, since thats literally my favorite game, i picked it up, watched episode 2 and absolutely loved toriko. i like the characters and the fights more than bleach's, actually. still considering that bleach is pretty fucking awesome. give it a try. fucking awesome.
They really need to add a few characters like: Kenpachi and Byakuya/Ulquiorra - Bleach Zoro and Sanji - One Piece (Update Luffy's ultimate to 4th gear) Tobi - Naruto Trunks - DBZ Kaneki - Tokyo Ghoul Kurapika or one of the Phantom Troupe - HxH
This game has Raoh, Medaka, Tsuna, Jonathan and Joseph Joestar, Ace and Arale just to name a few. While Jump Force removed them all to have the pink fatso from DBZ, the alien chick from Naruto and those goofy ahh original characters that look like Dragon Ball ocs.
Shaman King would've been nice, Ren Tao, Yoh and Hao would've been great additions, like Madara vs Hao, geez, also I believe Katekyo Hitman Reborn should've gotten Xanxus, Hibari, Mukuro or Byakuran, at least one of them, but only Tsuna is kinda dull.
the moment you realize Joseph has the strongest ultimate and if aimed right you can get a double kill next up would be Ichigo but his ultimate isnt much of a one hit kill but it does a ton of damage at the cost of all of your health. i always like running Johnathan, Joseph and Kenshiro (one-hundred fist crack) for support just so when either jojo does a barrage attack just follow up with your own barrage attack and call Kenshiro in and then the enemy will be stunlocked for a while and if you have your ultimate just bump it up with a Final Ripple from Jonathan before the barrages are finished. it deals roughly about %80 damage however I never tested it with Jonathans final Ripple SYO
Wouldn't it be cool if Namco produced a spin-off with Shonen Magazine characters? Think about it: GeGeGe no Kitaro Eightman Ashita no Joe Kamen Rider Karate Baka Ichidai Tiger Mask Devilman Three Eyed-One Hajime no Ippo Kindaichi Case Files Great Teacher Onizuka Love Hina Rave Master Get Backers Samurai Deeper Kyo Assobot Senki Goku Air Gear Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle Negima Fairy Tail Code:Breaker Seven Deadly Sins UQ Holder
Hmm, who all feels like this is a better game mechanically than Jump Force? Indeed they aren't the same type of game with J Stars being more of a party brawler than a fighter but think about how combos and specials are handled.
Because y'all kept using that quote as an annoying meme phrase 😒 This is exactly why I'd rather watch the parody of Fist of the North Star called DD Hokuto No Ken.
@@tysheeneaddy5459 Wait- actually what I meant to say was that the only thing I liked about Fist of the North Star is the character Raoh since he's a lot cooler.
+Seraphic Wing What this game needed is the option to give different outfits to characters (Such as Vegeta's armors, Frieza's forms, etc.) to help differentiate when the CPU is playing the same character as you. One of those outfits/forms could have been Kid Goku. Sorry for my shitty english
