They whole hare as Luna’s patronus thing kinda made sense to me; since she’s ‘Looney’ Luna Lovegood and the phrase is ‘mad as a March hare’ which is also where the Alice in Wonderland character comes from. Honestly it all sort of fits
I love when Scott puts in the little bits with him!!! He’s such an amazing editor!!! Also, the little wordy bits or black and white bloopers!!!! I’m in love with his editing style!!!!!
i swear the editing for these videos are getting better and better. loved this video p.s. Tonk's old patronus (before the wolf) was a jack rabbit so maybe that's where jack rabbit came from.
Whatever Potter I just feel that Harry is the only one that shows a genuine bond with her and understands her being an outsider. I think they’d have made a great couple.
Here's a theory you should look into: Harry and Ron are both really good at divination. Throughout the books we see them make predictions that all come true; from Ron predicting what Riddle got his award for, to predicting the entire events of their fourth year.
Wotcher means hey how's it going. Its just a friendly term people use to greet each other mainly in London as its sort of like cockney slang. I don't use it often but there you go 😂
this is wrong on so many levels, must be american people liking it. The word is as it sounds 'Watch ya' means hello, as in I can see you/watching you, this is childs play come on guys. And it isnt a london thing. Lived in south croydon for 20 years, and lived in suffolk for 10 years and everyone says it. Hope this informs you americans :)
Brandon Cook what if I told you it’s short for “what ya doing?” “What ya up to?” Or anything similar? To be clear, I have no evidence for this but I bet you don’t either
I always love the "I know what a nickname is Potter!" line because he could so easily have followed it up with "I had one as well...it was the Half Blood Prince" and it would have fit the scenario so well because Snape knew good and well where Harry got the Sectum Sempre spell from and it would have clued Harry into that fact...It just would have ruined the twist at the end of the book, but hearing that line later on when you KNOW what snape's nickname was is just a great bit of dialogue.
Wes Stacey I always try to remember when I’m re-reading the books that Snape is a legilimens and can read Harry’s mind from the very beginning! Makes it much more interesting.
On behalf of everyone in Europe, "wotcher" just means "hi", "what's up?", "how's it going?", etc. Shortened from "What cheer?" a few hundred years ago.
Do they Think that all of Europe is British? Im danish and here we speak danish. We learn english but not the regional slang. Your answer was what i thought it meant when listening. ( the danish audio is awfull and I just love Stephen Fry)
Heidi Læsøe You can understand where he’s coming from logically, though. A lot of people in Europe speak English and based solely on proximity, it’s not a completely far-fetched it was that someone would know.
This guy at my job thought he was the real Harry Potter know-it-all. After asking me all the questions he could think of, and me answering all correctly, he now has new found respect for me and probably slightly hates me as well. And all credit goes to you guys! Thanks for helping me look real smart (or nerdy, but still, I'm a ravenclaw so I'm fine with both) in front of my colleague!
This is the first time I’ve beaten J or Ben which honestly doesn’t surprise me cause this is a Luna Lovegood quiz, and I would literally die for Luna any day.
As a Ravenclaw myself, Ben is a Slytherin. Just accept it. I'd like to be able to say he's a Ravenclaw. But he's not. So let it go and stop trying to claim people who aren't Ravenclaws.
Ben was absolutely right! Ryan Gosling's first credited role on imdb is a 1995 episode of 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?', season 5, episode 3, "The Tale of Station 109.1".
Future daughter: Mom I found some old movies up in the attic. Can I watch them? Me: sure honey. What movies? Daughter: Harry Potter. Me: Daughter: Me: Daughter: Me: Hermione go fetch your sisters Ginny and Luna. I need to tell you a story. 😂😂
I remembered "Easy Spells to Fool Muggles" and I always imagined it was full of either harmless practical jokes or, like, real magic variations of muggle magician magic tricks. Not anything dark or harmful
you know the whole time when i was reading the books and watching the movies and such, I never thought of Luna as "Loony" is that weird? She just always seemed normally herself to me. Maybe it's cause she reminds me a lot of myself but ya I never say her as weird, off, nor crazy.
Hares are much more common here in england. The main way to tell the difference just by looking is not only the size, with hares being much bigger, but also the ears on a hare are permanantly upright
I have a theory that the reason Tonks consistently uses a particular greeting, that no one else tends to use, is so she can identify herself to her friends no matter what she looks like, without straight-up saying, "Its me, Tonks," all the time, especially if she's undercover.
My dad and sister are both left handed and I'm somewhat obsessed with watching how they write letters like oh mysteries oh the way she makes it is mesmerizing for me
Every lovegood fan knows these questions like the back of their hand, so I’d say I did good. (I’m wearing a Luna outfit right now) 🤣😂😁😆I just thought she put her wand in her right ear...
Luna's shoes are converse! I actually owned the exact same pair when I went to see the movie and it freaked me out! If I remember rightly they have cherries on them.
Thanks! I was looking for this comment :-D because I was like "Wait what? But that's how Luna found Harry under the cloak" and then I was like "ooooooh wait, that was only in the movie" ^^
Not gonna lie I don't care about Harry Potter I only watch these J vs Ben's because I like the competition between you guys ! I like the interaction ! I know basically nothing about Harry Potter !
Question 13 is my favorite Luna line so I know it off by heart. "Aurors are apart of the Rottfang conspiracy. I thought everyone knew that! There working from Within to bring down the ministry using a conbination of dark magic and gum disease."
First comment! Also at 1:11 it is ‘then’. 🤣 And at 1:58 the editing had me dying! You guys do great with the editing! It makes the video!!!😂🤩💕 (sorry for so many emojis!)
The discourse about Luna's Patronus - In Order of the Phoenix, at least in the scene with the DA learning to produce Patronuses (Patroni?), it doesn't mention what Luna's is; it mentions Hermione's being an otter, and Cho's being a swan, but that's about it (Chapter 27: The Centaur and the Sneak). In Deathly Hallows, however (the scene you guys are thinking of, with Ernie, Seamus, and Luna casting their Patronuses), it does mention what they all are: "He saw Ron’s silver terrier burst into the air, flicker feebly, and expire; he saw Hermione’s otter twist in midair and fade; and his own wand trembled in his hand, and he almost welcomed the oncoming oblivion, the promise of nothing, of no feeling . . . And then a silver hare, a boar, and a fox soared past Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s heads; the dementors fell back before the creatures’ approach. Three more people had arrived out of the darkness to stand beside them, their wands outstretched, continuing to cast their Patronuses: Luna, Ernie, and Seamus." So, it's a hare :) (Ernie's is the boar and Seamus' is the fox)
I once saw a fan fiction where whenever Luna said nargels it was actually her way of talking about a certain type of people (bullies I think.). I’m aware it was just a fanfic but I thought it was a cool concept.
Shoes are actually patterned with strawberries, cherries and watermelon.. I owned the same ones for the longest time and made me proud that Luna owned the same (:
"My mum.....she was an incredible witch, but she did like to experiment, and one day a spell went horribly wrong....I WAS 9." I was SCREAMING "9! SHE WAS 9!" at the screen. Lol
Luna's is a Gray Hare I know because it's my Patronus as well. It is not and has never been a jack rabbit. The quote you were looking for is this: "A silver hare, a boar, and a fox soared past Harry, Ron, and Hermione's heads: The dementors fell back before the creatures' approach."
Wotcher is a term used in the South of England (where Tonks is seemingly supposed to be from, I guess) and it’s basically a greeting used for friends and family that’s kinda a way of saying “what’s happening?”
This quiz was so funny and a little bit... loony 😂 great edits from Scott. Ben you will win next time. This time i got all points. Luna is my favourite character
“Wotcher” is old London slang for greeting like saying “alright” or “what’s up” rarely used now apart from older generations, I’m born and bred in London, I know the word was still being used in London in the 80s from watching “only fools and horses” which is an old British sitcom and the characters use it a lot as a greeting mainly the character Rodney uses it a lot especially in the first few series
Ok on the "how old was Luna when her mom died" I knew it was either nine or five because I could hear Evanna Lynch's voice in my head and that sentence definitely ended with a long "I" vowel! 😂
