Ja 1271 Crossing Hapuku River, Kaikoura (HD) 

On Saturday 6th April 2024, Steam Incorporated's Ja 1271 hauled Pounamu Tourism Group's 'The Whale Train' with Da 1431/DA 345 on the rear between Kaikoura & Wharanui along the Main North Line. The train is seen crossing the unique arched bridge over the Hapuku River north of the township of Kaikoura, a rarely captured location for rail photography & videography along the MNL between Christchurch & Picton.
