I'm still amazed that Kiefer didn't get any Emmy nominations here, dude just portrayed like 4 emotions in one scene effortlessly. How the fuck do you do that?
I did this in call of duty Modern Warfare back in Christmas week at shipment map, 32 kills nonstop. I shouted "I just jack bauered all you motherfuckers."
This is why I love Bauer. Because he always has these rage moments where he's like "F** it, you're all dead to me". Eric Carter is good, but just Bauer is soo much more better in my eyes. More emotion, drama, and action.
If there is one thing i`ve learned from watching 24, is that Jack Bauer is a War Machine & you don`t want to be on the receiving end when he is beyond pissed off.
Favorite scene in Day 6 was when Doyle walked into where Jack had murdered Fayed and his men. He slowly looks around from Jack on the ground, to like 7 dead bodies, and finally to Fayed hanging by a chain. "Damn Jack."
Sadly, what Heller said to Jack near the end of Day 6 was correct…twice… “You’re cursed, Jack. Everything you touch, one way or another, ends up dead.” And later, at Heller’s house: “Simply getting your life back isn’t going to change who you are, Jack. And you can’t walk away from it…you know that; you’ve tried it. Sooner or later you’re gonna want to get back in the game…and my daughter is going to pay the price…like your wife did.”
I didn't think they could give us another classic Jack moment in LAD, then I saw this and I was like best Bauer moment ever. LAD was everything I thought it would be and more.
Mills and Borne could probably take lessen from Jack, his killed more than both combined, hell the only goverment agent/spy to kill more than him is James Bond and thats only if you count all 12 incarnations of him
You can only imagine the kind of fury Jack was under beating the shit out of Cheng after all that torture he endured in China, and for taking the woman he'd loved and the only one he'd seen a future with since Terri died.
Jack Southworth I'm glad Jack cut his head off. He made Jack and Audrey's life hell and killed the one woman he ever loved. Not only did he do it out of revenge for the torture they endured and for killing Audrey, but he did it so he wouldn't have to deal with him ever again.
Speaking of which, as I was gleefully reflecting on Cheng Zi's just desserts, I just realized...how exactly DID his decapitation even get past FOX censorship?

Oh, and if you're wondering how many men that is, the answer is twenty, including Cheng. Four offscreen kills are not officially counted (see the wiki for more details), but this is about four times as potent as his spree at the end of Day 8. EDIT: Actually, SIX offscreen kills, so 22 total deaths at the hands of Jack in these few minutes!
wow top fight scene. really thought he was just going to shoot himself but then again jack was goimg to get cheng back for killing Audrey. those men didn't even stand a chacme against jack. when hes pissed of he's pissed and there's no stopping him. Bauer is by far one of the hardest character in television history
This season would have been way better if Jack tortured some terrorists. He only briefly tortured the terrorist lady, then apologized. The real Jack Bauer would never hesitate to torture a terrorist. For that reason, I don't consider Season 9 to be a legitimate addition to the first 8 seasons.
Jack had no reason to kill Cheng for revenge. He was going to kill him one way or the other. He already made that mistake with Renee. Jack doesn't make mistakes twice. I think he was for a minute going through the possibility of relapsing back to his murderious ways but he was strong enough to not to because he knew he had no reason. Jack could live with Audrey being dead. When Audrey died, Jack was finally free from her so this scene is all about him being reborn and finally being himself again. As heartbreaking as it was, this time it was Audrey's own fault that she died because she arranged her meeting poorly. She should've set up her meeting at presidents residence or at the Chinese embassy. She made herself an easy target by going out there in public. Audrey was also incapable of putting millions of innocent peoples lives ahead of herself. She constantly begged Cheng for her life and she was hesitant to follow Kate's instructions. If Jack would've decided to save Audrey and letting Cheng to get away, his honor and integrity would've been destroyed. He remembered the last time he put her life above national security. Jack's learned his lesson. In this season, Jack finally came to terms with his true feelings for Chloe. He realized that what he truly wants has always been right in front of him, he's just been too blind to see it with his melodramas with Audrey and Renee. During Jack and Chloe's car scene, while listening her to crucify herself over the days events he desperately wanted to come clean with her about his true feelings but instead she friendzoned him. His dejected expression was heartbreaking. But he started to show her his love for her through small actions hence him shooting the door open for her and their charged moment before heading after Cheng. Even Chloe was confused about his actions like he was acting weird. Their moment really felt like they wanted to kiss each other because they didn't know if they're going to make it out of this alive. But when he gave up his freedom to save her life when he double backed at her, he saw that she's still in love with him like she's always has been. She's too afraid to admit that herself and to him. That's why he smiled when he boarded the chopper. He was amused about her being too stubborn to admit what she really wants.
I still haven't forgiven 24 for this. Seriously, I know it's not in the shows nature but couldn't they have done something a little less predictable and spared somebody for once? I'm sure Jack still would've killed him either way.
Mercy for Chang and his men? Absolutely not; They got what was coming to them. Mercy for Jack? Yes. For once, I wanted to see him catch a break. I guess I wasn't clear in my original comment. If wanting someone, albeit a fictional character to catch a break for once in his life after losing so much makes me a pussy...
Yeah, I get that... But the whole point is every woman Jack gets romantically involved with ends up dead. That's what this line of work does. So before you decide YOU want to be a "Secret Agent Man"... well, think twice. I feel like if the tragedy for Jack ends, the show ends... But it already has. Seriously, let him be with someone... and the clock should reset back to 00:00:00 with a brand new hero. It should have either ended with Jack winding up with someone and disappearing into a new life with her... or with Jack dying... I would not call "Live Another Day" a particularly memorable finale.
Who killed first? Audrey or Detective Joss Carter? Looks like Person of Interest is taking a que from 24. Just like Jack Bauer, John Reese went ballistic killing the bad guys.
+milestone380 Perhaps, but 24 started in 2001 and never had any problems with killing off popular, major characters. You could do a top 24 of deaths on the show and STILL be missing some major ones. 24 did this even way before other shows like Game of Thrones did this.
movieman82us That's true. the only main character to die on Person of Interest is Detective Carter. Shaw doesn't count because of what they said in the last 2 episodes of season 4 and they haven't confirmed whether Elias lived or not
Here's a fun question. Who's more badass? Jack or the punisher from the Netflix series? I say that specifically because I don't know the comics well. I think they're both amazing but jack wins in my book. I just rewatched all of 24 and took note of his skills. He speaks russian and german, can fly a helicopter, and is pretty savvy with tech when he needs to be. Plus he has better self control when he needs it. My final points to jack is he handles torture really really well. Just ask the Chinese.....
