Arguably one of the greatest season openers of all time. I still get goosebumps when Audrey realises what Jack means and you see the RPG trail behind her. His intensity when he can do nothing but listen on the call is immense.

Mine was somewhere after latter half of season 2 when they just manage to locate the nuke. I was hooked since then but ofc I was clueless about some characters like Nina until I watched first season and first half of season 2 years later when I bought all seasons on DVD
The creators and Sutherland wanted that ending to be open so they could return to the character if the right story was given, then 24 Legacy happened ...

In every TV show and movie, except for one episode of The West Wing and when Secret Service agents are played by Gerard Butler or Channing Tatum, the Secret Service are basically like Red Shirts from Star Trek and get knocked over like bowling pins. I'm sure the real Secret Service are pissed off at how ineffectual they're always being depicted as.
Jack didn't shoot the guy fast enough. If he'd shot him as soon as he got in there and secured the door, those extra 17 seconds might have been enough for Audrey and her father to escape.

In this show, CTU security guard logic is when they're under attack to run out in the open like they're in Call of Duty or some shit. But then you have the other extreme known as jack bauer, also known as the one man army, like in season 6 when he single handidly took out over a dozen of Fayeds men and then Fayed himself. After *being tortured for 20 fucking months* only 24 hours ago and with broken ribs. And he hadn't slept for 24 hours. it's fucking hilarious.
