Enjoyed your your video, I've always loved Kirby's work. One might say he's one of the most important contributors to pop culture in the 20th century. I'm fortunate to own a few originals from issue #93. My favorite panel is the break-out at end of story, Torgo blasting out the slaves. The art, composition, movement, inking, just fantastic! He was the King! Thank you!

Wow, what a beautiful book. The FF is my favorite group/comic of all time too. I think they always intrigued me because like you said, they kick-started the Marvel world, I have always loved Jack Kirby too, what an amazing artist, and an even more amazing person. Thanks for the video.
I wish I had been fortunate to meet the man in person. No, I'm going off stories and reports that I've read about college students who when they found out where he lived (on West Coast I believe) would just show up on his door-step and he would graciously invite them in as though they were long lost friends and entertain them with war stories from the Marvel Bullpen! From what I've read of him, he truly was a selfless and gracious human being.
Late 60's was Jacks greatest period, when he went to DC he just to much going with writing all those books I think his art suffered a bit.When he returned to Marvel in the mid 70's his health issues caught up to him and his art began to slide,
Those prices for Kirby's work are as they should be. He is a visionary genius who's work is on par with and as important as Dore,Escher,Picasso,Moebius,Crumb,etc.

I also have the Jack Kirby Fantastic Four #72 (cover) Artist Edition World's Greatest SDCC cover coming soon. I paid a little more than I'm used to paying but I'm a sucker for Silver Surfer artwork. The cover is gorgeous.
I wish someone like Steve Mcnivon or Alex Rosses art was on this huge paper. Only problem I have is the price which rarely goes under £80 even on Ebay and it’s in black and white which I’m not too keen on

I saw a clip of the pages in the new book that just came out: www.idwpublishing.com/product/jack-kirbys-fantastic-four-worlds-greatest-artists-edition-hc/. I get the feeling the book you just reviewed has better artwork inside. But the new one seems cool that the pages are bigger. So I'm leaning towards getting the one you just reviewed since I can only buy 1.Your thoughts if the new one book has better art?

Apparently, Romita was also the masculinity director. The level of disrespect born out of jealousy and shame leveled at Kirby from the 60s into the late 70s at both DC and Marvel is a tribute to the vindictiveness of little men with small minds and smaller blanks that some how always achieve positions of authority in this weird world we live on.
