Marie Lord was 100 years old when she died and not 56. I still have a crush on Jack Lord, he was so perfect looking during the TV production of Hawaii 5-0. A lot of fans miss him 😢.
@@lettiegrant9447 Yes, he was attractive at the top of his career, and "Danny" too. Marie Lord and Jack was the ideal match. Good times are going too fast, but we inherited beautiful moments of their life's.
He also played a rodeo cowboy for one season in "Stoney Burke" in the early sixties. It was a good action show which also included stars like Warren Oats and Bruce Dern as his close friends and rodeo hands. It was very entertaining.
Just before Lord was cast as Steve McGarett he guest starred on a first season episode of Ironside opposite Raymond Burr portraying quite chillingly a very, very creepy high powered crooked lawyer for a top king pin in the eastern syndicate of the Cosa Nostra (i. e. the mafia). Among Lord’s other exceptional talents he was an accomplished pilot, and a highly respected artist whose paintings of note hang in our national gallery in Washington DC.
I know that Mr. Lorde may have had a private life, but I can tell you the story about my grandma who went to Hawaii while the show was in production, and their tour bus happen upon Mr. Lord Mr. Lord did not retreat or run away, but he actually took the time to shake their hands and greet the proximately 30 some people who had come to Canada to visit Hawaii. My grandma told me how we shook their hands and was really a wonderful person. Afterwards Mr. Lord took also took the time to stand in the centre with all these people in a group shot around with him - it’s still in an old family album He must’ve spent a good 20 minutes with these total strangers from Canada to welcome to Hawaii and told them to have a great time. He may have been a private person in his life, but when it came to his fans and people who actually were in a way to look at the beauty in the paradise, he was more than welcoming to them
Just goes to show how wrong the press were about him, always saying he was aloof and demanding, we hear many stories about his kindness and there were many things he and Marie did which he didn’t brag about.
Little know fact (unless you have visited Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center in Williamsburg, Virginia) that Jack Lord played the male lead John Fry in "Story of a Patriot." Which was filmed in Colonial Williamsburg in 1957. Long before Hawaii 5-0
GREAT VIDEO JACK LORD WAS SUCH A GOOD ACTOR NEVER KNEW MUCH ABOUT HIM SÒ NOW I BECAUSE OF THIS VIDEO I DO SO CHEERS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK R I P JACK LORD 🙏🌹
Jack Lord had an incredible presence and a commanding voice. Many people don't know that he was the first actor to play CIA agent Felix Leiter in the 1962 James Bond film Dr. No. He was considered for the role of Captain James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek TV series in 1966. Gene Roddenberry and Desilu Studios, as well as Jack Lord did not feel it was a good fit. Jack Lord turned it down because he did not like the role. In his retirement he did a lot for the state of Hawaii and became an unofficial spokesman and ambassador for the state. Due to the TV show "Hawaii Five O and the role that he played as Steve McGarrett, aka actor Jack Lord, is honored with a sculpted bust in the parking lot outside a Honolulu Kahala Mall in front of Macy's. Though appearing somewhat out-of-place today the colorful leis around his bust neck prove he is still loved by many" RIP John Joseph Patrick Ryan (a.k.a. Jack Lord, age 77) December 30, 1920 - January 21, 1998.
Wonder why the sculpted bust of Jack Lord wasn't placed at "Ala Moana Mall," it would have been given much more exposure there. Tourists as well as residents alike.. 🙏 RIP JACK LORD 🙏
@@thisisme3238 You had a very good question and it made me think. Why was it put there instead of another location. I did a little research and this is the answer that I found. The mall was selected because "of all places, is this tribute located at the Kahana mall? It’s because Jack Lord and his wife Marie De Narde lived nearby, and the mall was one of their occasional shopping stops. The bust, unveiled in 2004, was created by sculptor Lynn Weller Liverton."
@FactsVerse Thank you for your question. With so many wonderful episodes, it's hard to decide, but I guess if I had to pick one. It would be season 5, episode 10, titled "'V' for Vashon: The Father." It's an episode, one of several leading up to this one, with the focus on the Vashon crime family. It Honore Vashon vs. Steve McGarrett in a game of cat mouse and revenge. The question is who is the cat, and who is the mouse. Honore Vashon (played by the great Harold Gould) puts a contract on Steve McGarrett for the death of son Chris Vashon that he blames on Steve McGarrett. Here is a bit of trivia you might find interesting.: "Harold Gould earned a Ph.D. in theater and taught speech and drama at Cornell University." "Pursuing off-Broadway work in the 1950s, he decided to practice what he preached and became a full-time professional actor in the 1960s."
@@FactsVerseI remember his 007 days very well. There were several times on different 007 movies in which he starred. One of my allllllll - time favorites.
Where did you get your info from, there are so many errors, Marie was born in 1905 as someone else says, Jack met her in 1947 not in the 60’s when he had seen a house she had designed and wanted to find out who the owner was,it well documented how they met, Marie revealed it in an interview. she was 15 years older, not 14 She was not an artist, she was a fashion designer. It was her that took care of Jack in later life, not him taking care if her. Some of the facts are true which can be found in many articles, but he never had a star in the Hollywood walk of fame. If so why is it not shown. Marie was never a model or an actress and that is not her pic shown. And they married in jan 1949 not 1958, you say Marie passed away at age 64, given she was born in 1905 that would be impossible, she was 91 when Jack died and lived to 100. She was born in france, but was not an actress or model, her career was in fashion, but she gave it up to become a housewife and devote herself to Jack as she thought a wife should do. Another thing, Jack did not join the army and didn’t serve in the infantry, he was in the merchants Marines, as a sailor. His ship was sunk and he was in the lifeboat for 16 hours, he felt he was saved for a purpose that being an actor. So please when you do these vids, get your facts right. At least it wasn’t a critical one like some. I’m a devotee of Jack and a friend of someone who knew him as her uncle and lived with the lords as a child, so know a lot of how Jack really was,
you sound very well informed on his personal life. Do you know anything about the time he moved out of 4999 & moved into a Bungalow at the Kahala Hilton?
@@cfjsascendconservatism5038 yes I am well informed, my info comes from someone who was very close to them and lived with them for several years during the five 0 seasons and kept in touch till Jack passed away, and was probably the last person to talk to him, apart from Marie. They never moved from their Kahala condo they lived in an Ilikai apartment when they first moved there and when five 0 became successful they bought the Kahala condo as well as several others there.
Do you agree? If Jack Lord had played Captain James Kirk on "Star Trek" ,he definitely never would have been available to play Steve McGarrett on "Hawaii Five O from 1968-1980, and might have had a whole different career altogether and the original"Hawaii Five -O have been a different series altogether. I await your reply.
@@matthewbulger6883 it’s all water under the bridge. Jack didn’t do Star Trek and I don’t think he would have been suitable at all. He was destined for McGarrett, as we know and was the best police series of the era, still going strong and I have over 3000 members in my five 0 group, it will never be forgotten. the rest is history.
Jack Lord and his Wife was very much in love. Everywhere they went, they were together. I lived 2 floors below them in the Wailai tower. Also remember, he played a cowboy in the series "Stony Burke.
I hope I'm that fabulous vibe af if I turn 100. She's literally a stand out when I saw the photo for this clip on my feeds. Wow what an inspiration for the elderly life for sure. Namaste darling.
Jack Lords wife Marie was not an actress she was a New York dress designer. She was of French origin and she never was involved in the film industry but helped with the running of his and her business affairs... E
This video is riddled with errors. His wife was born in 1905, not 1941. She was 100 years old (at the time of her death), not 62. They married in 1949, not the 1960s. The B-52 was never used by the Army Air Corp as it wasn’t introduced in to service until 1955 (as a bomber for the United States Air Force (not the Army Air Corp). He had left the military long before the bomber’s test flight. I could go on. There are even more errors I can easily confirm. If any research was actually done, the sources used must have been loaded with half-truths and out-and-out lies.
Thank you. It's why I take the info given on these videos with a grain of salt. Noticed wrong info on at least 4 other videos myself. It can't be an accident, happens too often. 😮
I had the biggest crush on him when I was little. Used to sneak out of bed to see him on tv while my parents watched Hawaii 5 O in the 70's. Now I can see why I liked him !
Mr. Lord was a very talented artist, much of the artwork in their home was his. He has been exhibited in major museums. He starred in "Stoney Burke" a western and was in one of the Bond movies. The B-52 was not used until the 1950s so it was used by the Air Force, not the Army Air Corp. He was married before Marie and may have had a son.
@FactsVerse More on Hawaii Five-0. Sixties and seventies TV, movies, music. I"m not old enough to actually remember the sixties but the seventies were great. The homefront in WWII. Thanks for asking!
My favorite memory of Jack Lord is an unusual one. At the time, I lived on Oahu and remember "Hawaii Five O," filming a scene utilizing the First Hawaiian Bank (Main Branch - Bishop Street) Bishop Street for the set (I worked at FHB at the time). It was exciting to see them in action. Thanks for bringing back the good memory, Facts Verse!
You need to get your facts straight she was 100 years old when she died she was fifteen years older than him so you need to get your facts straight before you do a video thank you
Awesome police story. I always thought the scenery was fantastic. I’ve spent a lot of time in the islands. Time spent there in the early 70s helped me overcome many challenges in my life. Since then, Hawaii has been a place for me to appreciate nature and connect with my spiritual needs.
Every time i heard the name of Jack Lord i will never forget these sentence to him open up! Police McGarett Five O. I don't forget you sir. I salute you!!!
It's hard to take this channel seriously when you continue to make such glaring mistakes. These mistakes are made on almost every video you make. Good grief, how can you report on celebrities unless you have your facts straight? Marie was born in 1905, not 1941. She died in 2005 at the age of 100. There are other mistakes, but something tells me the truth doesn't matter to you, as long as you keep banging out these videos. I have seen other videos where people have pointed out your mistakes, yet you keep uploading these, mistakes and all.
Definitely! We feel the same way. Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
As always hollywoods insatiable desire to remake past successes leaves you with the feeling of it pales in comparison to the original as it does with this iconic series! Just my opinion. But hollywood has not had a new idea in years
Absolutely, we feel the same way! Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
I grew up with them. His best kept secret. Please have your story correct before you publish it. One thing you got right, we were a very private family
I watched HAWAII 50 IN THE 70,S As a kid ❤ > &, Thanks for the INFO about the show.. 😅 ( ! But I never seen this 2010 Not to Shure about it (???) Fact verse .
I think you made a mistake by saying that Mr. Lord was a gunner on a B-52 bomber during World War Two. The B-52 wasn't brought into the until 1957, I think. It was the Fifties though.
If Marie Lord was 14 years older than Jack then how could she have been only 64 when she died? Jack died at the age of 77 in 1998. That meant that Marie would have been 91 when he died. If she died seven years later, she would have been 98.
Your facts about Jack and Marie are mistaken. They met in 1946 and married in 1949. The blond woman you pictured is someone else, altogether. Marie, Jack's wife, was not an actress. She was a fashion designer, trained in Paris and practiced in New York. Your errors continue. Do your research.
Jack lord Stonie Burke he was a good Actor as a rideing wild horses when he did Hawaii Five-0 I didn’t like him no More I I came to Hawaii on a military tour we pass by sales we seen him out there in the yard and we try to talk to him he just turn his back and I can to air again to talk to us and we was in the military close I think he’s a jerk but when we heard about his passing away we felt sorry about him
Someone please fact check the narrative that said there was a 14 year age difference between Lord and his wife...that SHE was born in France in 1941 and that HE was born in 1920. Duh? Did I hear it wrong...or right ...?
I just read about his 2nd wife. Showing her born 1905 and died in 2005. She she couldn't have been 64 when she died. You narratives should get your facts straight before you air these programs on utube.
