[Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/Score/OST] Here is the complete film score to the classic 1985's ROMANCING THE STONE sequel: THE JEWEL OF THE NILE, composed entirely by Jack Nitzsche. All these scores were finally released back in 2018 as an expanded limited edition package by La-La Land Records (only 2500 copies exist). What's awesome about the tracks in this video is that they were all expanded and remastered from the original master tapes (meaning that these are the actual authentic tapes that were sent in to the sound editors when they placed the scores in the movie). I also included the rare song: "The Jewel Of The Nile" by Precious Wilson as a bonus track (which can also be found on the Jewel Of The Nile original motion picture soundtrack released by Jive Records). "The Jewel of the Nile" is a 1985 American action-adventure romantic comedy film directed by Lewis Teague and stars Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito all reprising their roles. It is the sequel to the 1984 action-adventure romantic comedy film: "Romancing The Stone". The film is also widely known for featuring the international top hit song: "When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going" by Billy Ocean. While The Jewel of the Nile grossed more than its predecessor, the film was much less successful critically and effectively killed the franchise. Critics felt the film was loaded with numerous plot holes and that it lacked the first film's original charm. The New York Times opened its review by writing, "There's nothing in The Jewel of the Nile that wasn't funnier or more fanciful in Romancing the Stone." Roger Ebert agreed that "... it is not quite the equal of Romancing the Stone," but praised the interplay between Douglas and Turner. "It seems clear," he wrote, "that they like each other and are having fun during the parade of ludicrous situations in the movie, and their chemistry is sometimes more entertaining than the contrivances of the plot". Jack Nitzsche was an American musician, arranger, songwriter, composer, and record producer. He also worked extensively in film scores, notably for films such as "Performance", "The Exorcist", "Revenge", "Stand By Me", and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Overall, Nitzsche's pop electronica score to "The Jewel Of The Nile" brings a bright and exciting synth tapestry that perfectly injects all of JEWEL'S romance, action and laughs with rollicking and vibrant energy. This complete OST soundtrack score was released under La-La Land Records '85 ('18).
