@@pr.dr.nachtigaller5154 Agreed. The ending to "Samurai Jack" left a sour and empty feeling after watching it (something that I hate to admit). Sigh... :( Believe it or not, there was a supposed "leak" of the ending that was circulating on the internet, months before the final episode aired. In it, Jack and Ashi take the fight to Aku. Jack gets captured and Ashi is killed off by the shape-shifting wizard. Jack, in a fit of rage, finally destroys Aku. Years later, Jack (in his golden crown and red cape) finds and defeats the Guardian. He then uses the very last time portal not to go back to the past, but to save Ashi from her death (by quickly killing Aku -- again -- before Aku could do anything). After that, Jack and Ashi would live together in the dystopian future and help rebuild Earth... :) I honestly would have preferred that over what we got... :(

I just realized this but this fight is underground in the darkness, where Jack tends to struggle, and the other fight with the daughters is in the white snow where he has the advantage. They use a similar animation style and symbolism in the earlier seasons when Jack fights the ninja and also generally in other sublte ways throughout the show. I jusy love how they managed to use animation so simple but in such a original way while maintaining that Ying-Yang relationship throughout the entire series in a fresh way everytime.

one of the only times my mom walked into the room and lost her train of thought watching what I was on TV as she was immediately immersed by this scene. She watched the whole thing through. I remember my heart was actually pounding in anticipation, which NEVER happens when i'm watching shows. One of my favorite scenes in animation of all time. A Masterful episode. -

This has to be my favorite episode and to top it off my favorite scene in all of Samurai Jack. Every aspect was perfect and no dialogue was needed to feel the tension.

This is one of my favourite episodes in season 5. It shows Jack how broken he’s become. The hallucinations he’s getting and even the fact that he even thinks about committing suicide. Him seeing so vulnerable fighting against Aku’s daughters and killing one of them,shows that he’s never taking human life before.

@@TheJerknoideverything after episode 3 felt rushed and tacky. Plus the whole love story arc was so forced it killed the entire atmosphere and pacing of the season. Season 4 definitely started strong and ended very disappointingly-and that’s coming from someone that grew up waiting for Samurai Jack to air on Cartoon Network every week.

it was explained that Jack nearly managed to return to his own time, but Aku stopped him yet again and destroyed what he claimed to be the last functional time portal in the world, Aku then transformed some innocent mountain goats into monsters, forcing Jack to slay them in self defense, but the goats turned back into their original forms once they died, and although Jack must have killed animals before, he still found the fact that he had spilled "innocent blood" to be shocking, and in his shock, he dropped his sword, causing it to fall into the abyss

Jack was unable to retrieve his sword, but he was able to get other weapons, he was careful not to let Aku know that he had lost his sword, because if Aku knew that then all hope would be lost 50 years have passed since Jack lost his sword, and he failed to age into an old man like all of his allies, it was implied that Jack couldn't age due to being temporally displaced by Aku, a side effect that not even Aku expected Jack still roamed the lands helping people, while Aku got bored of actively hunting Jack and just let his evil scientists and other henchmen handle things the way they like it

during this time, a cult of women that worshipped Aku as lord accidentally summoned Aku to their temple and Aku, in a spur of moment, decided to gift some of his "body fluid" to the cultists as a reward for worshipping him, the leader of the cultists, known only as High Priestess, then drank Aku's "body fluid" and ended up becoming pregnant with 7 daughters, she gave birth to her daughters, who were half human half Aku hybrids, and declared that her daughters would succeed where so many others had failed and kill the Samurai the 7 Daughters of Aku were then trained to become assassins and raised in isolation from the outside world, they were brainwashed by their mother into believing that Aku created the world and the Samurai threatened to destroy it, which is why they must honor Aku and kill the Samurai, this was the purpose for which they were born

as a final test, the Daughters of Aku had to fight and kill their former mentors, the High Priestess then gives them their masks and sent them to fulfill the purpose for which they were born although the Daughters of Aku manage to corner Jack and force him to take a last stand against them, he was able to retaliate and kill all the Daughters of Aku save for one named Ashi the Daughters of Aku were the first human beings that Jack had killed, before, he only knocked out bounty hunters and destroyed robot henchmen

I say the n word outloud at my job but in a way no one knows it's me so I go into the cooler at work and yell the n word once and then come out carrying boxes with a peice of paper in my mouth so they don't think I screamed it. Customers and associates don't know I do this hehe
