I love the power and contrasts of a lot of Anthony's favorite musical spaces in this. You can really feel a guy who knows he's good at what he does but still feels so many relatable emotions, intensified and amplified by what he feels like others have come to expect from him. Y'know, like a certain king i know of. Or Jack Skellington.

I feel like there is a ton of classic Disney that needs this treatment. I could see Friend like Me taking on a much more Djinn like edge or Refection from Mulan getting real dark real quick.

I love styles used when the time is perfect, and I think mixed styles would be epic. Like Funk base, metal guitar, Frank Sinatra vocals, and swing drums. And then have them overlap so like a bar of a vocal Frank Sinatra and half a bar of metal with a funk bass run into double base drums with brush snare. And maybe fade transitions between styles, Frank Sinatra vocal gradually becoming David Draiman over the course of a bar. Just wherever a style is perfect. Styles don't just need to be 1 band for a 2 bars then a completely different band the next 2 bars. The possibilities are endless. I just wish I had your talent to pull it off properly.

I usually like Anthony's covers, but I kinda feel like this one kind of lost that weight, the sense of depression, the core feeling of the song "this is what I'm all about, but this isn't making me happy and I don't know why". Instead I feel it kind of went for pain "this is what I'm best at, but it hurts when I do it" Feel like this vocal styling might fit better in "What does it Mean? " Where jack is frustrated. I guess I sympathize more with depression, so it could just be me, this is just my opinion.

I've loved the original and covers for over 2 decades, this performance had so many clever vocal subtle changes woven in so seamlessly. Completely outstanding, I'm floored!
