Thank you for uploading this movie friend! Jack's the Boy is a 1932 British comedy film directed by Walter Forde and starring Jack Hulbert, Cicely Courtneidge, Francis Lister and Peter Gawthorne. It became well known for its song "The Flies Crawled Up the Window", sung by Hulbert, which was released as a record and proved a major hit. The film was released in the U.S. as Night and Day. Policeman Jack (Jack Hulbert) attempts to track down a gang responsible for a smash and grab raid, thereby proving his worth to his disapproving father (Peter Gawthorne), a Scotland Yard detective.
Fun movie. I noticed that when we first see the police coming out of the building, some of the cops are wearing their caps wrong. They have their straps under their chins when they should be just under their bottom lip. This to prevent a bad guy from grabbing their helmet and choking them. I was a costume designer for 50 years and it is hard to not notice things.
Take your mind back to the beginning of the year..... Uhh, it won't go, sir. LOL. I love Jack! He's so funny looking, yet you love his face like you love a Basset hound puppy!
It’s ridiculous how a 40 year old man takes a part intended for a young man His jumping around and stupid gags seemed to fall flat I was really disappointed to see that his wifes performance was just as bad! She played a silent role in a musical comedy sketch 🙄
