Jack was the first edgelord ever, I feel his character was based on an angry 11-year old that actually could do something more than being just a keyboard warrior. And that is genius.
@@alchemistofsteel8099 He kinda is. All the dark spooky try-hard being evil thing. The whole sore loser; mocking Chase Young when he couldn't harm him and when the later could face him off Jack literally starting begging him not to hurt him. He is definitely an edgelord. I still love him, tho.
@@Georg3e same what was that one little imp? Cookie or something she was funny along with the narrator they were both my favorite characters in the series lol
I love Jack because he was initially the main antagonist but later he becomes a complete dweeb, and the show makes fun of him all the time for it. Kinda like the ice king (except without the tragic backstory).
What's even better is that we even get episodes, like the future part of the finale, where we get to see that Jack is actually is a threat that shouldn't be underestimated (even if he does make a lot of goofs.)
my favorite thing about Jack is that in the timeline without Omi, he was fully able to conquer the world he’s got the evil potential to beat all the good guys and the bad guys
Imagine if he just build space laser or nanobot... or a concealable pathogenic bot or high power rail gun. The dude got so much potential and no mentor to show him.
@@michaelbecket4901 more like needing to be a villain. Look at Otto Apocalypse, that guy never once believed in good or evil. He have a goal and don’t care a damn how he do it
@@koleszgdanska7149 Yea, especially Raimundo for both of them and Kimiko for just Jack. Although, I kinda wish both of them would try to put a little more trust in them.
@@DeviantDespot ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ilK39iSOVVU.html In a case of "Small Role Big Impact" if not for that there's no way John Connor would have Survived the encounter.
Let’s not forget that Jack has had actual successes against the monks, something a lot of other villains besides Chase, Hannibal Bean, and Wuya can’t say they’ve gotten…
Honestly, if he serious'd up and made a mech designed to imitate martial arts of Chase Young, but with the steel body enhancement, and just sent it off to overthrow him and it actually was a legitimate threat, I'd be hype for that. I honestly think that if he took being a bad guy seriously, he could legitimately be worse than every other villain in the show in terms of damage potential.
@@Twizzid255 yep. I can't recall too much but I think omi had a cousin or pupil underneath him and they had added wood as another element. I tried to watch it at the time it came out but I just couldn't.
@@Rgoid while chase did make Jack look like the butt of a joke, but, honestly, jack did have his moments of actually being a villan/bad guy. Like, there was an episode where he wanted all of the monks Wu for the reversing mirror (I think that's it went), and even Wuya was impressed. Wuya was impressed by a few instances that of Jack doing well. I think i mentioned one time that if Jack did stop goofing around half as much as he did, he would give the monks and even chase a run for his money.
@@Rgoid Well, as I mentioned, i do admit that Jack wasn't that great of a bad guy/villian, looking a lot worse when chase came around. Although, there has been a few instances where Jack has actually validated being a good bad guy, such instances are those of which I mentioned already, such as the whole wanting all of the monks wu for the reversing mirror (I might be remembering that slightly wrong though), bringing Mala Mala Jong to life, those bringing 2 examples.
I always felt sorry for Jack being alone he may of been a genius but you could tell all he wanted was friends. the toilet nightmare is a clear show of that alone struggling with something that others manage to handle the laughing if he hears it wouldn't help either. heros struggling is bad but ok because they always have someone but a villain struggling is worse because that's when even they see themselves as truly alone. that's why I always pick the bad guys side.
That's true, as your probably are aware, people often choose to side with the hero because well... their percieved as such, and that is how it is looked at that it should be. But, sometimes, when it boils down to it, you do have to at times feel bad for people like jack because, like in Jack's case in some episodes like when Raja (the sentient snow man that had the heart of Jong) had made a rukous, the munks were pretty mean/horrible to him (jack) in some instances in that episode. I forget what the episode name was if you were going to ask.
Dude… I remember having a stupidly huge crush on Chase when I was little…. Jack’s voice is amazing… I haven’t seen this show in over a decade, wow. Don’t even know the actual plot of the show. The humor is so good…
@@ModernMedusa I was gonna do a female version for my friend's Halloween party last year. And just be like, "Here's Jackie, bitches. No relationship to the former Secretary Of State."
14:46 i wish jack had more moments like this where he actually one ups somebody who underestimates him. he clearly shows himself as capable multiple times, but still lets the other villains step all over him before settling into a more comedic role for the rest of the show. would have been cool if under that childish and scared demeanor he was the most evil out of all the other villains.
This is probably why Jack stayed a bad guy despite just being a couple steps of being good. The bad guys don’t respect him and even the good guys bully him. No matter what side he’s in no one wants him around. Why bother being good if no one in any side likes you?
This guy is hilarious. He’s got the same voice actor as Dave The Barbarian, and that makes me instantly love him. That scream is funny as heck. 😂 I wish I could have watched this show more growing up.
To be honest, how I see it, although it may have been poking a slight amount of fun in a good way (you can interpret that in any way you want though) way back when, but, looking back at it now, they were really ahead of the game on the idea considering where we are now in late April of 2022.
13:35 This is the kind of joke I would expect from a nowdays cartoon, I'd totally believe if you told me that it was a joke in a show like the Owl house or something. I was totally not expecting hearing that JFKSNDNS My respects to Jack for caring about the pronouns of someone who is constantly mean and evil towards him
@@wasabilover1293 I agree. It's become more than just propaganda now that corporations are allowed to fire workers and ruin their lives just because the bad cisgender was focused on doing his job and forgot that Saturday is Steve's "she/they" day.
@@RyuKaguya Are they really that big of a deal though? "Oh no, someone asked me to call them by 'they/them', which I refuse to do because it's intruding on my right to speak how I want to as an American." I never have once felt imposed on or annoyed when someone says they go by a certain set of pronouns. Even if I get it wrong first shot it's not like they're going to fucking deck me like people for whatever reason act like will happen. I seriously just don't get why people have such an issue with something that's been around since language existed and we found ways to label ourselves based on certain characteristics. Just treat it like someone changing their name if it's that hard to do.
Thanks for posting this! I didn't really watch much of this show when I was younger, but I do remember seeing some episodes here and there. Thanks for giving me some flashbacks from when I saw some of this
I love how I can never forget this show all because the egg captain in Chibi Robo had a voiceline that sounded like "WUYAS RIGHT" to my child brain and its never gone away.
Always crazy to think, Jack proved his tech was superior to martial arts, mystical Xiaolin and Heylin Powers. How he defeated Wuya of all people is an enigma
@@red0421 I'm late but yeah. They seriously took it too far sometimes with jack and their bullying. Looking at Jack, it's obvious he really isn't Evil. He's just really wanting friends and to be accepted by someone. The monks and everyone else just really bullied some awkward guy who was seeking acceptance and wasn't sure who he was. It's kinda sad actually.
He finally get sick of playing fiddle built a giant railgun, space lazer and predictive machine. Then forge a document that indicate the temples ground is a national asset to evict the monk and bombard the with ICBM. And he detonate a nuke under chase good old home.
23:08 I almost peed my pants watching that shit!😂 Also the first twelve seconds 13:34 are kinda meme worthy. 10:53 And can we talk about that jaded face he makes when he’s ejected from his submarine? He just has that look on his face that says; “Don’t even START with me Wuya.” God bless you Jack Spicer, you never cease to amuse me.
