lol I think artists get a little tired of singing certain songs so many times throughout their careers, they try and change it up ..but I’m not sure what Jack was doing..it’s like the words were falling out of his mouth instead of being sung.
I saw him in London two days after this. He was eye wateringly good. One of the best gigs of my life, and I'm old. He is a gent and a true professional. It was a phone free gig. Your phone went into a mystical pouch you couldn't open. Everyone was fully engaged which added pure magic and intensity to the night. I wish all gigs were phone free.
I was in London on Wednesday 29th July and saw this dude with blue hair walking around the Chelsea area. Then I realised it was Jack White. I wanted to approach and tell him that I loved his music, but chickened out. Kind of wished I did approach him now lol. When and where abouts did he play in London?
He played the 27th and the 28th at the Apollo. How amazing that you saw him walking around Chelsea. You should have declared your love for him, I've heard he's kind to fans.
Jack and the drummer are taking this song to the next level. You can see the drummer pulling a bit more out of jacks playing. These 2 compliment each other perfect.
Yeah they have such a “call and answer” element to their playing. D-Jones is a phenomenal drummer and coupled with the dissonant notes/chords jack throws into his playing they create such a raw and sometimes jarring and exciting sound over what are great but simple melodies. I hope they keep putting music out together they rock
@@TJjjjjjjjjjj ala Jack and Meg, my god this is so good! Lmao I love this music, and the fact that he plays with a lot of ppl, which totally opens musical horizons! I think we've seen this in rock music since.. well prolly longer than i've been alive. But I'm think of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, compared to Band of Gypsys ya know? That's how i believe musical doors are opened, to new sounds and great music I think in a recent interview i watched with Jack, he said as much, in so many words! ;) Btw, this drummer, looks like he's about to beat the set into the ground! I thought for a second it was KRS-One! lmao! kidding.. great drumming! Dennis Music freak since the 60's! 61 years Austin, Tx
A great performance of my all time favourite White Stripes song! Jack has certainly not lost his touch! Also, the drummer's stank face made my day lol!
I have to say that Jack White and Prince are two of my favorite guitar players. Both of them have such unique sounds that you immediately know who they are when they start playing.
I did sound and helped set up drums for Daru at NAMM, one of the nicest musicians I've ever met. Such a unique setup and love hearing/watching him play. One of my highlights during my first trip to America
The backing band is fantastic. Jack is always all over the place when he plays. These guys are just feeling his groove. I love shows like this. They’re having a blast.
If you haven’t seem him live in person you’re missing out on the best performer of the 21st century. This video is just the top of the iceberg how Fing incredible he is live.
Jack is a proper rock star - The guitar skills and the voice are bang on point - The Park Stage got themselves a proper treat that day with the surprise guest.
@@honourthefire9182 Rock is literally a product of everything that's been done before. You haven't listened to enough of his music if you think he's 'middle of the road'. He's super inventive and unique.
Oh boy. Been listening to this guy since 2003 with the White Stripes.. And haven't been able to seeing him live 😭😭😭!!! All my love to Jack White, what a musician he is! ❤️
@@Thaylotus I saw him in Montreal in November, 2003. A show that would've taken place in the summer of that year, but was rescheduled due to a broken finger. He opened with Ball and Biscuit.
@@timothymccarthy7747 Musical tastes are personal, so I don't judge but I love his guitar because I see so many influences in it and he's got this amazing energy, I think he's genius. I found this interview. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h-vqdeI9qFw.html Also, right after Jack White we went to see St Vincent's gig for Daddy's Home album tour and I was also admirative, thinking she's much better than I thought and loved her guitar as well. So, who's guitar is making you very happy at the moment??
Great energy from the whole band but also played the solo out of key at first 🤔 that might’ve been the EHX PitchFork unintentionally, I believe his new Jazzmaster has one installed
Love this guy...basically tells the guitar establishment..and music teachers. Ah just play however you want. I have been playing for 40 years and to me he's just so unique, tunes the way he wants just plays whatever comes to mind in any key he fancies
Incredible. Great performance, and BBC Music are nailing their end of things too: they've really captured the energy of everything I've seen so far of this year's Glastonbury.
This man is a verifiable genius. There’s no one else like him. From the modern era Reignwolf is the only person/band that comes close to JW’s kind of raucous energy. Seems like a decent guy too. Always find it cool that, even though I’m English born and raised, my Dad grew up in Detroit during the 60s.
As you well know Detroit has a great reputation for raw, hard rocking bands that gos way back. Mitch Ryder, The Stooges, MC5, Ted Nugent, Eminem, Kid Rock, Etc. A cool tradition with the latest addition being the White Stripes and Jack White! Maybe it’s the Car Industry or something in the water? I don’t know but I’m grateful for it! And I didn’t even mention Motown the hit factory! Detroit music! 🎶 😊
I really like that Blue guitar 🎸. But I’m feeling Blue because I haven’t the money to buy one, too! I wonder what they run! Probably $2K at least if not more! 😮😢
Dang. That is what I am talking about! I don't like everything White does but I like this crazy blues stuff. And who is that drummer? That guy is clean outta sight.
I saw jack in Nashville in April and I couldn't believe how much attention I was paying to daru Jones on drums. Jack is my guitar god, and seeing him live was a lifelong dream come true. And I spent 60% of the show staring at the drummer.
Why Aren't the crowd Going INSANE???? PLEASE tell me, this is quintessential, grade A, hard core rock n roll Blues. This is a masterpiece, the drummer and Jack and everyone contributing using their souls dancing on f*cking strings.... They're so lucky to have experienced real, visceral blues music
Nice the hear a ‘real Hammond’ and not a Nord or a Hammond xk3c or Xk5 digital - which still does not cut the mustard. Jack is really original. What a performance.
@@loganbarker442 So, that new guitar he's playing actually has a pitch shift function built into it. He demo'ed it on a video recently and it's a neat feature. However, as we can see here - the unintended consequences of not moving it back up to correct pitch when soloing can be catastrophic if you're not Jack White, haha
