2 suggestions: to your hours of operation chart, add a cpap machine and remove one of the heaters (they are a simple multiple), and for those who would be listening to your video, say whilst driving, less of the "this and this" and name the components...Otherwise, another excellent video sir!

@13:13 that manual screenshot looks funny. for 12v 8amps max, double to 8amps max? should that be 16amps? (8+8 on two ports?) or is it actually limited to 8amps combined on both ports? can you test that?

I love your videos and glad you did one on this unit. 29 minutes and you talk about solar charging on the extra battery unit as well as the main unit at the same time. I was kind of concerned that if solar could only be charged through the main unit and you had five extra batteries that would take an extremely long time since you are so limited on solar input wattage if you wanted to use this in an off-grid situation. If I understand your experiment correctly, it sounds like as you add extra batteries you can also add extra solar because the extra battery units have solar charge controllers built into them. That makes the system a lot more practical for off-grid use. So glad you included that in your video. I have a Delta Pro system with 4 extra batteries and two main units that runs my house and has done so since January 31st of 2023. This Jackery system might be a contender!

In this case it's doing more than expected, which is great to know in advance. Hopefully they'll update the unit's firmware or the app to account for displaying overall % when aux units are added - or maybe an in-app toggle between displaying total or individual %.

They finally checked a lot of boxes with this one, particularly the expandability and parallel unit option. Just a shame about the limited DC output and they hobbled the solar input with that 60V limit. It sounds like the two solar inputs are just another parallel splitter internally to allow for more power through those DC barrel plugs. Of course being Jackery it is on the expensive side, but actually with the introductory price it’s not far off the AC200max, which itself is getting long in the tooth and missing a couple of features. Thank you for a thorough review. I would add that I do not think the parasitic draw test is as important as just checking that the unit does not automatically shut off with little to no load, which is particularly important for running fridges, etc. Most modern systems have a very similar parasitic draw and any excessive draw would probably be seen in the AC/DC capacity tests.

Good stuff, thankyou. Haven't had much sustained success with those old cigarette lighter dc connections. They seem to become loose after a while and sometimes just fail and stop working. Strange that it's the only dc output option offered. Hopefully they add a second dc output option and, like you wished for, 90°space saving cord caps for linking the extra battery pack to the main unit in the near future. Good to see Jackery offering a product with this type of battery now.

just received my 2000+, I love it, but I was shocked to see the connector cord between the jackery 2000 and the battery pack sticks out 18" in the back! Jackery needs to come up with an adapter that enables it to plug sideways vs straight out so it can sit against a wall. And definitely remove the photos from the product page with it sitting flush against a wall. Also I heard a couple people had issues connecting the two jackerys together for 240v, I wonder how many have tried that Watching the fan test, doesn't jackery advertise 30db surprised it's closer to 50db at max

Regarding the idle consumption for the AC inverter, I am really surprised that it uses 133 Wh in only 4 hours. I guess that means the average rate is about 33 watts. I would have expected it to be a lot less than that. I have one of the older Explorer 1000's, and it only seems to use about 3 watts or so while idle. Anyway thanks for doing the idle/phantom consumption testing for this new product. 😎
@BadfingerFan
@BadfingerFan Год назад
To get a more accurate idle watt consumption on your Jackery 1000, you'll need to perform a test similar to hobotech's. The power station's display doesn't tell the whole truth. That being said, smaller inverters are more efficient that larger ones. Therefore, if you only need to power a tv or modem, a smaller Jackery, Ecoflow or Bluetti would be a good choice. Large inverters are like V-8 engines and smaller ones are more like V-4's.

The “phantom”, parasitic, or resting power draw from unused “live” outputs is a critical factor in my purchase decision based on my intended usage. This is extremely helpful when using the generator to power any device that only needs power occasionally but when it needs it, it needs it. For example, any cooling device in a well insulated space. The parasitic test is also helpful for devices that use constant minimal draw. Eco mode won’t even acknowledge the device and the battery will turn off. Batteries that have a parasitic draw >2%/hour die in 2 days without powering a device. Based on my intended use, this is a deal-breaker for me. Alas, I may be spending up to $2.5k on a multi-use sogen for: music performance, camping, dirty home-power, and powering more than 1 high wattage device at a time in my kitchen. Oh, and powering essentials during an outage. The Jackery looks beautiful but doesn’t make the cut. Any chance of a review of the recently released EF Delta 2 Max? Thanks for all your hard work.

dont forget, you can hook up solar panels to offset the parasitic draw while the inverter is on. Perhaps Jackery could implement an AC timer function, to say turn in the fridge every 2 hours or so for 20 mins. Also, a suggestion previously given to avoid draining the battery when using the built in inverter is to just buy a cheap smaller inverter and plug it onto the more efficient 12v cig lighter plug for say clock radios and such, ie or something AC which uses a smaller unit of power than the full rated Jackery 3,000 Watt Nuclear Power Plant inverter running full blast as bright as the Sun which Powers our Solar System for two days, to run more efficiently whatever is the 'dealbraker' is for you.

@@mikemotorbike4283 Actually, having an inverter toggle on and off every hour might be just the thing: lose 1/2 as much to parasitic draw yet the fridge would still operate sufficiently. This would be a great “smart” feature. Improved customization with remote apps could help as the tech improves. Adding additional links in the chain could increase loss when not in use. Fortunately, there are units that lose 0.5%/hour or less - an acceptable drain for me. Staying connected to solar panels for a trickle charge might work when camping but not when at home where best outdoor sun is too far from where I’d need the power. As it is, I’ll likely need long extension cords from solar to generator and from generator to power-consuming devices. Given a constant gage, additional power is lost as cords get longer.

Using this and being in a house, I do not see how to hook up everything from different rooms. Should I buy less power for different rooms? Also, I will have to purchase appliances that pull less wattage. My new (2013) electric stove has a wire that resembles a python snake in width, and the plug is a large four-prong. I will be looking for other options which use less wattage after I pay for this incredible monster Jackery.

Is it worth getting the 24kwh if it’s on sale for 40% off?

90 degree cable to connect the battery. Super simple. Even if it's just an extra accessory.

I wish more reviews covered the parasitic losses. ❤

I think the phantom test should increase the quality of the inverters of Good Solar Generator Companies. "Put on the pressure!" I believe companies listen to customers And Reviewers....eventually. Sorry, I'm an Android person (CUSTOMIZE!!!) and I think an app should be able to have SO Many variables (little light on/off after any number off minutes, power should turn on at 6:30am with the coffee pot plugged in and ready to go, etc.). Thanks for this video!
