I first saw this wonderful film when I was 16. I am 64 now and still watching it. My favourite fight scene is between the Provincial Champion and Chin Foo. I have seen many Kung Fu films, but this one has a certain magic and stands out.
I was probably 12 or 13 when I first watched with my brother. I'm 42 now, and I completely agree with you. Many kung fu movies have graced my screens, but this particular one holds magic.
This is one of my favorites of the genre. Plenty of action, humor, a good story to follow and I really like the relationship between Jackie and the old master.
Yuen Siu-tien played the part of Begger So which is one of the legendary '10 tigers of KwangTung'. I love Begger So Kung Fu Style he is one of the funniest fighters (especially Arhat Fist and Drunken Master) - If I had to describe it, he would be like the kung fu equivalent of 'Harlem Globe Trotters' as in style but more advanced in level. It is a pity there isn't really a contemporary that is equal to this.
Love this movie, I watched it as a kid. & watched it again with my little brother many years ago because he wasn't born then. For me, still after all these years, this movie hasn't lost its magic. Thank you for sharing this superb movie with us.
I REMEMBER this movie was my 1st experience in a Small movie theater or " a video hall ". My age I don't remember just think i even cannot assume my own age during that time....😅 I maybe studying in class 1 or 2. I watched JACKIE CHAN and his fighting scenes first time in my life and after that...we 3 friends begins to fighting (friendly) eachother copying that movie's fighting styles... sometimes after getting hurts UNINTENTIONALLY (oblivious)...we used to cried ALOUD and runs back to our mommy at HOME 🏠. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Those were the days... Golden childhood days....!!!! 😢
I watched Drunken Master with my 3 year old daughter on my lap, and she started imitating the snake style, she's 4 now, maybe I'll watch this with her lol
Listening to those slaps is awesome!! Takes me back to the early 80’s watching king fu marathons at the Birmingham Odeon picture house…loved watching Bruce Lee ❤️
I grew up having to watch these kind of movies because of my dad. The cat fighting the snake was one of the very few action movie scenes that still stays in my memory because it made an impression on me despite the young age like the use of animal moves for attacks and counterattacks was brilliantly thought off. And I always wanted to recall from which old movie was that scene. So when I came across this movie title : snake in the eagle shadow, that exact scene was what first came to mind. Finally, found what I was looking for 👊
I’d watch these movies back to back. As teenagers growing up in port Harcourt,Nigeria most of us the urbane were engrossed in Chinese and Indian movies ❤
