@@gamerdude3126 tom c would tell the story like that, real story was he didnt want to do it again. and hollywood like to blown their little stunts out of proportions for the stars eg like tying your laces blind folded.
maybe that's why he never learned english properly, language doesn't always make the right way to express our feelings, you should notice the way he explains the stunt injury through body language makes it even more immersive and concerning.
Credits to the host...both really gives an opportunity to Jackie to talks everything he wanna say and didn't interrupted with stupid question like others....this is called respect
they hugged. Jackie wanted to shake hands...Michael's like 'let me hug you...so glad you're here'.Shaking is formal. Hugging someone means you accept them and welcome them.
guitarman0365 Lmao I’m surrounded by Chinese relatives so I have become the master of translating broken English as well as understanding things explained this way. I’ve gotten so used to it in fact, that I started doing it as well 😂. I really like how fun it makes storytelling though. When I was younger I would find stories so interesting when my grandma, aunt, mom etc would explain things with sound effects, facial expressions, and movements lol
Jackie Chan plays a HUGE role in my childhood. My dad showing me his older movies, and growing up with his movies as time moves on. It’s the same with Robin Williams. The day Jackie goes will be an extremely sad day for me. This man is so awesome!
loved seeing your comment, specifically you sharing what this man’s filmography meant to you in your childhood, the magic developed and perhaps bond when your father introduced you to his films. maybe not the place for me to share this personal thought, but like mentioned your comment really resonated with me. i, on the opposite side of the spectrum grew up without a father. in my youth i discovered Jackie’s films and immediately became enamored by the mans body of work. long story short... he eventually became, maybe silly of me to share and admit, the father figure i eventually encompassed in my developing years. whenever the subject is brought up and I’m asked a specific question about my youth, i always respond with that my father figures from my youth that helped develop my character to who i am today have been both Jackie Chan and Homer Simpson. will not touch on that second on now for the sake of not typing anymore. lmao
The passion and excitement that Jackie Chan has about his work is so admirable, almost like a child having fun, he’s a prime example that if you really love something you are willing to die for it. Love this guy
The only famous actor in the world with 0% haters. . After 2 years am back to check my comments, Wow 8k likes and 187 comments ,thnx, take it easy folks and chill plz don't fight in the comments and love each other ♦️👍
There's a reason why this man is so beloved.... He's toughness and gentleness in one compact package. ALL HAIL JACKIE CHAN!!! #GMA #RememberTheDay! #ChanForever!!!
Jackie Chan has surely got to be the best film star who ever lived. There have been many many great film stars, but to me, Jackie's immense skills and versatility makes him the greatest.
can we appreciate the hosts engagement with his stories and their respectfulness when he forgets English words? Ellen LITERALLY laughs at him for not being able to speak English well.
I think the hosts did a great job! They really listened to Jackie and let him talk and even helped him when he couldn’t find the right words. Good interview :)
dont say stupid shit, he has no love for filmmaking. Actually he has said many times as of 20 years ago that he couldnt give a shit. He hasnt made a ""jacky chan movie"" for 25 years. I nvere been a fan of anybody, except for him. And cant watch his movies anymore for 20 years now lol. They are the shittiest movies made....i still watch his old movies which for what they are , still the best in that genre. The jacky chan we were fan of is 1977-1989 ( maybe 1994 )
WTF do you mean he doesn't speak good English? He's 100% FLUENT. He understands all the questions, can respond in seconds, and you understand everything he's saying--even if he calls a lifeguard a life guy. "Good English" does not mean you have to be perfect. And if you tried speaking another language you'd understand that.
@@High_Priest_Jonko a fucker like yourself find this 100% fluent, then dumb and dumber are terms made just for you @ school which I am pretty sure you dropped out of. Keep bringing!
Back in those days people trained with great intention. Martial arts was a way of life for people like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. It wasn't about competition only or just for fighting. It was a socially significant philosophy fostered with conditioning and a disciplined way of life. Bruce and Jackie have contributed alot for the arts.
@li wu when I first heard of this, I dissapointed a little bit. but these things kinda common for all those young and talent peoples, like Cristiano Ronaldo or Mike Tyson, they didn't have anybody to guide them to do the right things, but if you look at Khabib Nurmagomedov, it's a different story. Khabib was talent and rich at very young age and he got his father as his coach to guide him, to tell him what to do, and the man himself once said he's lucky to have his father while there are so many young fighters out there, who even more gifted than him don't have someone to teach them everything like his father does
I respect how Mr. Jackie Chan talks about how he was like when he was young in a matter-of-fact way. I like it so much that he's saying that life is always a work in progress for our betterment and becoming a better person
I remember him saying when he came to Hollywood, he couldn't do stunts that he used to do. Because of the insurance purposes and safety issues. Lots of Hollywood actors are doing their own stunts because of him. He's just an amazing person.
He's one export from China which I will always be grateful for. Such a humble human being. Grew up watching his movies, now totally in love with his aging beauty (smile & his lovely voice).
As a chinese born in 80s, his films made our childhood. His screen image set us a good example of poositival life style. In China we call him "Jackie the big brother" .
07:35 Jackie Chan sitting at home nodding himself, "Wow I almost died today." Meanwhile at a nearby bar, the Grim Reaper is getting piss drunk and crying at his continued failure to collect Jackie's soul.
Keanu reaves: im the best action movie star Tom cruise: no im the best action movie star Matt damon: no im the best action movie star. Jackie chan: "i almost die last week".
thats because he is a hands on person and hence his expression is lacking, most of the hands on people are similar, they do their own profession well but lack in expressing.
When i was little my dad and I would watch Jackie Chan movies on the weekends on VHS , loved him ever since , thank you dad for having all his movies 🥰🫶🏾
Burnt Tuna Toast he spends the majority of his time in Hong Kong, and usually only speaks in English when he’s filming something in the U.S. So it makes sense that he hasn’t improved much on his English.
I adore him. My grandmother was from Japan, and I miss her. Her cadence of speech was so similar to his. I love listening to him talk. I could listen to him tell stories all day.
My idol after bruce Lee..and bcoz of these inspiriring martial art angels Im still active after 52..thanks ..keep inspiring the world..we need it for sure 💯
I love how he can't sit still while talking haha he seems sooo excited to explain his stunts and talk about them and thats so adorable💕 Hes also so inspiring and such a great human being! JACKIE CHAN IS A TRUE LEGEND
There's a segment on Steve Harvey where Jackie is all if the stunt bring preform will fail or not. I think the intent was to have a light hearted laugh bit but Jackie took it very seriously with a pre and post reveal breakdown. It was amazing to hear and watch a legendary professional do breakdowns
No entiende lo que dice solo hablo español no se hablar otro idioma pero igual me gusta ver lo bellos recuerdo de el pero nunca le he conocido en personas Jackie lo busco que siempre veré por la televisión o película Jackie chan es un gran persona
Therr is always 1 who will tell a stories more crazier because they are so proud that they saw it, they are so proud that they are in that event. It's like telling a story like a kid. I love that feeling. ❤️❤️
As much as I appreciate Jackie for his own stunts, I am so thankful that there are more safety and precaution (safety nets and ropes, etc) now in his movies for his own safety and health...Jackie's invaluable, part of so many people's childhood through his movies and to those who are lucky, in their lives, I hope we will continue to see Jackie in movies for many more years to come! ❤
really ??? , they should be restraining from doing action stuff, he should be put on drama or power influnce movies, he deserves to enjoy his last remaining days and not work on deadly scenes
@@leusmaximusx I sure do agree with that. However ... Jackie should have the SENSE.... the basic common sense... to decline such offers of any prospective " action " movies!!! He needs to be around for his family... and for his friends
I feel like he's trying to explain he's not perfect he just never gave up. Meaning it's possible for anyone as long as you keep going. Love this man. Feel like he could be silent and I'd still understand him. Much love and respect ✊🏽
Of course! Who doesn't LOOOOVE this GREAT and WONDERFUL Human being 😍😘 may God keep blessing him in many ways. We the people LOVE you Mr. Jackie Chan ❤
